Gorgeous! It would be great if you would include the dimensions of the main body of the ponds in the description so we have a better understanding....I'm personally interested in knowing the w/l/depth and the difference between the dugout dimensions vs. the interior dimensions once the rocks are in to better grasp how much room there is to swim, or for fish if it's not a recreation pond.

Catfish is smelly and make the water dirty. You don't want it in your pond.
Hawks kept swooping and getting my fish. You have to make sure it’s deep enough and that the fish have a place to hide under

The only thing we lack in Australia is a bill of rights like you US citizens. Our government acts more like people controllers rather than serve the people if we had freedom rights in our constitution.

Do you need a pool fence? In NSW they are compulsory.
As a Scotsman living in the constant dreary grey rain with summer highs of 25°c if we're lucky, I get so jealous of these outdoor swimming ponds.

getting ready myself to start building a similar pond next year , but man... I wish I could populate it with fish like platies or swordtails/guppies fish like that , but here winter ruins everything sadly.. I'll have to use cold water fish I guess

I do wonder about snakes with natural pools.
I've seen snakes in regular pools here in the states too, I wonder about frogs. I used to have a large ornamental garden pond and it was a frog orgy every spring. I musta killed millions of tadpoles

I really like this natural pool idea.. The only thing I am scared of is that family of leech might thrive in here as well as.
How is there so little algae in their pond? Any tips on controlling algae in an exposed environment (high levels of sun) and somewhat shallow 3-4 feet deep
