I say that Ace Combat 7 has three flying styles at minimum. The most basic loopers, no fancy tricks just looping with high g turns. Duelists who use post-stall maneuvers and are monsters in 1v1, and finally lancers, me, best in team matches flying in an out of combat and striking slow-moving flyers who bled too much energy.
Don't give away all the secrets 😂 I can swap between three flying styles but recently I've been focusing 100% on perfecting 1v1 dog fights. Sometimes I mix all 3 together to keep the opponent guessing, especially when it comes to flying very low to the ground or using the rock formations in Yinshi Valley.
A favorite trick of mine for that map in the night is essentially a cut back drop turn, I fly with a tail to the altitude ceiling( can't fly higher, the game mechanic reverses direction) and use the mechanic to essentially reverse my direction almost instantly with all my speed to get a surprise attack. Best with few fighters in the air.
For anyone who doesn’t know post stall maneuvers. The way to engage them is below 450 in speed and lt rt ect depending on console and pull back on the moving stick
Somtimes I fire missiles not because I think I'll get a hit / kill, it's meant to keep the opponent busy / under pressure! Also depending on the parts used to enhance missiles they stay in flight and track longer, potentially surprising your target when they least expect it.
One of the things I like to do with a Rafale build I have is I’ll fire my normal missiles which have no parts on them to fake out my opponent and force them to dodge and then go in for a kill with the high capacity missiles I built so I can kill almost anything but a super plane with hp mods with 2 hits, it also will often one tap people in 4th gen aircraft that ignored the importance of hp. This has honestly made me want to get ace combat 7 for my pc so I can play it again, I 100%ed the game on my Xbox but I haven’t turned my Xbox on in over 6 months since I got my pc
Who else thinks we have enough aircraft / aircraft DLC in AC7? I personally think there is more than enough variety of planes to fly now and it's about time for some new multiplayer maps / stages at the very least. An online co-op mission mode with various objectives would be cool as well, 8 players vs AI targets. I suspect we won't get anything of the sort now for AC7, will have to wait for AC8...

@@frostyxxx I really want to keep supporting AC7 it's one of my favourite games I grew up playing and I want them to do well financially so they can keep making Ace Combat games but I refuse to spend any more money on just aircraft updates! If they charge for new MP maps I'll even buy those, most of the planes I have I don't even fly and I have so many MP credits and nothing to spend them on lol it's silly. I felt really intimidated when I started playing but I got to be pretty good at it with practice after a while. I’m definitely no where near the best but I’m good enough to put up a fight and enjoy it. You should give it a shot if you haven’t yet! 🙂
Tips for anyone in multiplayer, Unless you're absolutely confident no one will third party and it's just a 1v1 between you and someone else, don't Post stall maneuver, I've tried, and I've gotten some really amazing kills by doing it, only to get shot down immediately after because I just bled all my speed

I JUST found out you can hold the targeting button to focus the camera on your target. This whole time I've been manually looking and doing everything the hard way.
At 1:10. That was sick. I have pulled it off a few times and damn it feels good and, you know that guy is coming for you now. But he is the mouse facing a lion. He can run that's it. I hunt for players that know how to dog fight every match. Or taking the ones that try to get the ace cleaning his tail for him then pushing him to my limit playing every game mental and physical. Totally have hade burn marks on my thumbs from fighting some guys. LoneWolfpack806 is me. Anayone who wants to see if I'm lying. Bring it I'm on alot but ending up as scrap will get old after the 5th time. I just want good competition and a Yonex in-between serious and non serious matches. Holy shit you are online too. Even your normal turns are super fast. I only play campaign cause I git dominated online when I first got the game. And I was put off that there wasn't a huge assault mode like in assault horison where you have to sink the Carrier
Youre jammming each others weapon engagement zones. Thats why most of your missles are not hitting. Now I can see why the flanker is good at 1 circle fighting.
I personally don't enjoy this kind of fight if i was the one in it, im more of a "2 circle fight" kind of pilot, but watching a 1v1 battle with PSM happening here and there is entertaining

The Belkens who were secretly pulling the strings of this whole war were probably afraid of Trigger and wanted him out of the fight but it ended up having the opposite effect since he just rejoined a special force of osean air military all over again because of pretty much being a prodigy who could take victory from the jaws of defeat in every conflict he fought.
Man I would never be able to use PSM in combat, I've tried it several times in free flight but even in campaign I am just getting headache from how confusing it is when turning the stick and camera doesn't match
You just gotta memorize how long you need to do it to end up facing the direction you want to. Can be dangerous too if you keep doing them, they can read you.
The mig 29 can't do post stall maneuvers. Many of the Suhkois can do them in a limited fashion, with the Su33, 35, and 57 I believe being able to do complete post stall maneuvers.
the movement of the flaps for the animation is lack luster, i dont feel like im legit turning the plane, this is the only thing thats holding me back from buying the game

Originally it made it easier for me to execute the post stall maneuver but after a while I realized I don't need it and also I actually prefer to stall / low air speed warning a bit the ECU prevents that from happening sooner but I found I can use that dip to my advantage. It's kind of like training wheels lol

Ace Combat is sci-fi / fiction, it's about creativity and imagination and asking, "what if this or that existed?" There is no need to constantly compare DCS vs Ace Combat, they are two different kinds of software, each aiming to accomplish its own specific goals and cater to very specific people, but I'm sure there are some Ace Combat fans who like DCS!

It’s not a true simulator. It has a arcade type feel with all the qui😅high action dogfights but it is still a very good game to be play, especially if you put controls to expert I believe it’s called, because it gives you the more realistic type of flying controls.
When will aviation sim purist understand, fans of Ace Combat (going all the way back to the 90's) don't play Ace combat for / seeking realism! Fans enjoy it for it's sci-fi elements, futuristic prototype aircraft and super weapons, lore, characters, music, over the top unrealistic combat scenarios and yes arcade physics and controls. Give it a rest already, you like DCS? good for you, enjoy it and leave others to enjoy what they like in peace.

Only specific aircraft can post stall maneuver.
Examples being the F-22 and Su 57.
Some others can but I can't remember them off the top of my head.

It’s not a true simulator. It has a arcade type feel with all the qui😅high action dogfights but it is still a very good game to be play, especially if you put controls to expert I believe it’s called, because it gives you the more realistic type of flying controls.

When will aviation sim purist understand, fans of Ace Combat (going all the way back to the 90's) don't play Ace combat for / seeking realism!
Fans enjoy it for it's sci-fi elements, futuristic prototype aircraft and super weapons, lore, characters, music, over the top unrealistic combat scenarios and yes arcade physics and controls. Give it a rest already, you like DCS? good for you, enjoy it and leave others to enjoy what they like in peace.
