When the teacher started the instructions and the students just did them, I was blown away. They have impeccable focus.
I don't even know what any of the steps are and I've been doing ballet most of my life😪
it wasnt rhat difficult of a combination though so it shoildnt be hard for rhen to have it memorised after he said it a few times
Cheyenne Atkinson they are not really students.
When you are trained in something you can do it on command when told...that's the whole point.....it's not just ballet, it's anything.
These people are not students, but highly professionals in one of the best ballet companies of the world. It's definitely no problem for them to memorize those combinations.
its crazy how he just spews so many instructions for the choreo and the dancers just memorize it all that first time through. so impressive
Muscle memory and a lot of repetition
It's a language you get to know - I was nowhere near their level, max I ever trained was 10 hours a week and that was 20+ years ago, there are steps they do I never learnt and if I attempted anything I'd do myself an injury, but I still knew what they were about to do most of the time - for me that makes it easier than any foreign language they attempted to teach me at school.
Part of being a professional.
Very common
Who is he? What’s his name?😊
If y'all put one of these classes up every week I would watch every single one of them. I can't get enough of this! Please consider uploading more daily classes.
CO ZA RADOŚC OGLĄDANIA WSPANIAŁYCH LEKCJI KLASY BALETOWEJ
Me too! I love watching morning class or follow along. So sad that it doesn’t happen more often, but I guess it’s a distraction for the dancers though they’re used to being watched. Class is their time to focus on technique. Even professionals tend to behave differently when being watched... it’s just normal
Can I say absolutely appreciate the ballerina at 13:26... 15:40 pregnant and still going to ballet class and strong too. Giving it her all. That's true ballet love.
Elizabeth Harrod is the dancer you mention , here husband and father of the baby is Steven McRae , he is the male dancer in grey top and multi hopped bottoms next to her
And Steven McRae is an amazing dancer
If she took off her entire maturity leave she might get rusty and not as flexible.
Elizabeth Harrod McRae! Steven Mcrae’s wife and soloist for this company. She’s now retired.
@@pippaschroeder9660 every day you don’t dance, puts you behind for approximately a week.
The pianist is GREAT!
Пианист играет гимн России. Сборище идиотов.
they all have such good turnout, i wanna cry
haha the Instructor singing thank youuu~
its nice to hear a chilled Instructor rather than a yelling one.

They have a hell of a Pianist!!! This man is FANTASTIC!
8:06 Yasmine Naghdi, principal (green jacket)
13:00 Steven McRae, principal (redhead guy)
13:45 Elizabeth McRae, soloist (pregnant one)
20:00 Frankie Hayward, principal (grey jacket)
23:14 Eric Underwood, ex-soloist
26:00 Sarah Lamb, principal
Min , 4:53 , who’s that guy , info please 🙌🏻 man with green jacket
4:42. I think I see the exceptional Vadim Muntagirov at the bar as well.
Thank you wow!!
It's soooo cute how Elizabeth is pregnant and Steven (her husband) is at the barre with her 💖that is love goals
I know this was from 2014, but it is still sweet
They have three kids. I think it was her pregnant with second child.
I am really fascinated by the teacher. He cannot be much older than his students but he seems to be so confident and I just admire him for the way he is giving classes. It is a pleasure to watch this! :)
Brian Maloney retired quite recently (consider 1-3 yrs as "recent"). But it's great to see that he will continue being part of the company as a teacher. :)
Impossible to stop watching. Just fascinating. How I wish I could have learnt ballet as a child.
Jacqui Watts take it up as an adult. I have!
@jacqui watts, why didn't u take a ballet class for the adults? It will be fun as a great hobby.. 😊
P Heart how is it??
I love how he says 'thank you' before every combination begins
Everyone says sth about the dancers or the teacher...But nobody says anything about the wonderful pianist!
ja mówię. Naprawdę znakomity muzyk.
I say! He is incredible
Yep, wonerful dancers and wonderful pianist
Yes !! He's just amazing !
The comment under you says the pianist is great lol
Please never delete this... I come to it time and time again for inspiration and as a reference for technique! :)
i love how the teacher talks to the tune of the song
+Lilly Rose yes! he is a musician too jejejeje...
Lilly Rose love that swan lake music at 58:48
My teacher does that too
Yeah... It makes sense. A lot of dancers are musicians too!
but also he claps many times totally out of rythm, weird
I could watch this over and over and over again. As I'm sure I will. I'd love to see more classes. It brings such personality and humanity to the performances. It makes you cheer for the dancers and thrill in their achievements. Thank you so very much for uploading this. Bravo!
Brian seems like such a warm hearted person in his teaching style. It would be difficult not to feel encouraged by him!
I love how the teacher sings along with the music 🙂🙂 he's inspiring to the pianist!! When the teacher is musical the pianist can understand the timing and intention of the exercises and do the best!!!
my biggest regret is not taking ballet when i was younger.
roter13 i feel the same
but the good news are we can still enjoy it even if we are not professionals...
I dance since 9 years (i'm 15) and I'm not corresponding good! So don't regret it too much with a lot of trainig you can become really good💫 (sorry for bad english, I'm german)
+roter13 One of my earliest memories (I was 5) was of me begging and pleading with my parents to let me take ballet. I remember feeling thst they did not think I was serious. I was as serious then as I've ever been about anything important to me.
+Terri Koonce-Tom It's never too late to start!
Amy Wang Thank you, Amy! It's people like you - with a kind heart and positive attitude - that make this world a wonderful place to live!
Brian is a wonderful teacher and the class looks like it makes you feel really great and is kind to your body.
the instructor is such an eye candy!
Been watching for half an hour and didn’t even notice how the time flew. This is mesmerising, and for some reason, even more than actual performances.
Yes, I’d rather watch a rehearsal/class any day of the week!
I watched the whole video through bit by bit over 2 days and I’m astounded at the total dedication and athleticism of these dancers, and they’re just warming up ! Beautiful in itself
I had see many times this ballet classs. Amazing. Love this barre. Love all class. And i'm wainting for the next World Ballet Day, 2015!
Que saudade imensa :'(
34:47 Steven McRae has such good musicality, it almost makes the other dancers look bad
Its the multicolored tights lol
This was the most beautiful ballett class I´ve ever seen. All the dansers are so professional. Their bodys are realy living works of art.
The pregnant ballerina is amazing for being able to dance even with a huge belly bump! Her principal dancer husband is training next to her, too. They're an amazing couple. ❤️
Also: Steven looks really bomb in every angle.
omg what a perfection, their technique so amazing. I could watch this class over and over. So elegant. Arriba Ballet!
that pregnant lady is my hero omg how is that even possible
you will surprise what women can do 😆
Bryan is such an amazing teacher, he presents such a profesional easy class. Perfect to warm up for rehearsals. He is the perfect example of what a company teacher most be.
I love the free-for-all piroettes, jumps, fouettes, everything at the end! What fun that would be at the end of class.
Steven McRae was amazing.
This is so wonderful to watch. And as a few before me have said, the Pianist is the best. I wonder if people realize the talent, skill, and facility it takes to do what he does in a rehearsal like this.
Pianist is to die for!!!!!absolutely brilliant.who is playing for this class?
Brian Maloney, synonymous with beauty, elegance, professionalism.
I love your work so much.
I find this particular company to be amazing. I've watched all the company ballet classes and I think it's so complex yet simple and just graceful in all the best ways. Absolutely mesmerizing to my eyes! Wish I could do ballet but I have no experience sadly
I could watch this all day. I like the Ballet Master this year.
Do u know his name?? Please
This video has made me very self aware on the fact that I'm basically a potato. Also, is no one going to talk about Sarah's fouettes near the end? I mean DAMN.
Tell us where it's at in the video and some of us will check her out!
She starts doing the fouettes around the 1:13:46 mark. Blonde girl with a blue leotard under a black jacket, black pants and white leg warmers. The camera cuts to Brian Maloney (the instuctor) very shortly after, but you can still see her in the mirror.
Got to start somewhere. Everyone that has 10,000 hours of mastery (thirty hours a week for about seven years without fail) started just stumbling around in a first lesson.
she is cheered by her friends when she finishes the last one - remarkable!
I had the luxury to see Don Quixote at Segerstrom Theater, it was my first ever ballet, and was completely blown away at how much I loved it. I had binoculars and got to see the performance of that fouette absolutely breathtaking.
Thanks for posting the entire class. I've watched it several times already!
It's so wonderful to watch the pro's during practice. It gets me more inspired to do well (even though I am a beginner.) :)
same! I'm 13, grade 5 and have been on pointe for 3 months now. this is a real booster and we can pick up all sorts of tips just by watching. it's also a great thing to watch before an exam or on that day when you REALLY DONT WANT TO DO CLASS it makes me want to try harder for my goal (which is jazz, not ballet, but still!)
I'm excited to see how her baby turns out☺️
The guy in the green long sleeved top is a treat for the eyes
+matthew lawrence do you knwo his name ? He's so cute *_*
+Walid Mrabet It's David Yudes! He is amazing.
+Kate C. I love you :p
His glutes are amazing
I love his shorts, too. Wish i could find a pair
This whole video is like a study in amazing leg warmers.
Is that lady pregnant? That's amazing! I love how everyone is equal during ballet class, be it soloist or corp de ballet everyone does the same thing at the same time! It really shows a sense of unity!
z power her stretching is slightly different so i think she understand her limitation. squatting isn't so bad, at least its not cardio!
Ellen Miller yeah it is
z power aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Daph Duck にやな谷中たえこっなだ、やめやチキああいったえやた
Daph Duck Keeping her pelvis stretched while pregnant will really help when she goes through labor.
Thank you for putting this up for us! We really appreciate being able to watch this class after the 48 hour cut off.
This was absolutely thrilling for me to watch!! Brings back such wonderful memories.
I was a professional Ballerina. Studied under Houston Ballet Theatre since a wee, tiny tot. Was then the youngest member of Dance Artists of Tulsa at age 13. I had a solo at age 13 in a ballet called "Rhapsody in Blue." It was the time of my LIFE.
Anyway, I'm homebound alot these days with an incurable illness (age 48...bluh lol), but I STILL do some regular ballet at home for exercise. Mind you, I'm not pirouetting across the floors anymore at my age haha! But oh, how I love ballet. The fluidity of the movements & expression through dance.
Thanks so much for posting this video. I was enchanted & could NOT stop watching! ❤
those jumps, turns and pirouettes at the end were AMAZING
Such a beautiful sight to see a pregnant ballet dancer
2 out of 5 classes Elizabeth is pregnant.. :D
@@anna.esther Have you seen the videos of Ashley Bouder dancing when pregnant?
Anne Harrison oh, yes!!!
She looks so blissful... enjoying her ballet with a baby bump!
Omg during the last ten minutes I felt like I was watching a bunch of super humans...
the very last part of the rehearsal was mind blowing! incredible work! and steven mcrae was divine!
Well, the high- heels of the dancer speaking through the lesson are simply AMAZING !!!! She is so elegant.... She has just taken over the entire scene and the music on the background. You are simply Divine !!!!!. You have an incredible Taste. 😍😍😍😍
Thank you for this class,i `ve enjoy it very much. All of them are amaizing dancers deserve where they are,i admire that hard work and all that selfcontrol.I am a clasical spanish and flamenco dancer but my first steps was with ballet and i understand very well how hard it is to get that range. My sincerely congratulations to all of you
THIS JUST MADE MY LIFE
RIGHT?
***** in English we have things called expressions
This
UI 😅😅
***** I hope you can find peace in your heart one day, honestly, because if you could say that to someone you must be hurting very much inside. I will pray for you.
Impressed by the increasing diversity of RB: slowly but surely. Also the manege/coda free for all at the end was a terrific opportunity for the dancers to practise their tricks.
Thank you so much for posting this! I watched the whole thing without stopping!
Thank you so much for uploading whole classes! I enjoy watching and re-watching them so much! Thank you!!!
This is so much fun to watch! I remember the day after this aired, my ballet teacher incorporated the petit allegro (the glissade assemblé combo) into our class. It was a tricky combination, but a lot of fun. :)
This video is wonderful! I am disabled, so unfortunately I can't do ballet. But I am trying to stretch (don't know the right word, sorry) my muscles as if I could really move them. This is a very good practice for me, even my physiotherapist said that.
Thanks for the video!
if you don't mind me asking,is there any possibility of you walking again
+Allthingsgirly3 No, unfortunately not. But I am disabled since my birth, so I am used to it. ;-)
Jula I'm so sorry I'm praying for you
BElieve That is so nice of you. Thank you very much! But you don't have to worry about me, I am living a wonderful life.
Jula hope you get much better!
The black dancer in the red tights is so beautiful to watch and his jumps have a floating, "suspended in air" quality that is so lovely.
Dancing is wonderful...the pianist is simply superb!
Girl with the blue top and grey is absolutely divine to watch. She's actually dancing!
I love the male principal dancers wife. Shes giving me sooo much life!
I really like these full classes being uploaded. There rest of us not blessed with the gift or never had the chance in their life have always been curious what they actually do in a class.
BRAVO WOWO. Love the free for all spins at the end. The girl with the mint top, black skirt and white tights spins like a TOP! Amazing.
that coda at the end was fabulous
also the dude with the red hair is amazing
+Lilly Rose He is Steven McRae, australian dancer (one of the principal dancers of Royal Ballet )
Yeah he's Steven McRae he's so good! x
he was the mad hatter in Alice wasn't he ?
+Louise GaryAVBl Yeah he was
Ic fuck he's also a brilliant tap dancer. This man isn't human !
I learned so much classical music from pianists playing for ballet classes over the years. Thanks to those unsung heroes. As much of a workout for them as the dancers😊
Thank youuuu
1am in the morning and I‘m watching this ! I don’t know how many times I already watched it! Steven and Matthew are and will forever be my favorites!❤️ Wish I would have continued to dance ballet when I was younger instead of getting into ball sports! Everytime it makes me wanna dance so bad!!❤️❤️❤️
Thank you thank you! I am a composer and I can't tell you how inspiring this is. I watch it in the background as I compose sometimes, or watching this will inspire me to practice more piano. Wonderful :)
What is the name of the piece he plays during the grand pliés, first excercise?
Thank you for the wonderful
ballet and piano performance.
Wow!!! It's absolutely wonderful to have the opportunity of attending a full class of The Royal Ballet. Am I dreaming...???
a real sense of joy comes across!☺
I honestly watch these to sleep. It's so enchanting I wonder how it would be live.
This is why the Royal Ballet is one of the best in the world hard work equals excellence !!
the amount of work and dedication these young men and women put into their dance is amazing....and very few will ever gain any acclaim from it all...sad
The barrel jumps of Steven are just perfect
Steven is amazing!
Great work, ladies and gentlemen. I appreciate you.
Wow , I'm in love with this guys !! 😍
This is just so calming!
Elizabeth,Steven and the baby are so lovely
red head guy is so beautiful to watch. Fantastic video. Love ballet.
So much control ... it's amazing what ballet dancers can do.
I love the pianist
Alexander Campbell seems to have a finer, “smoother” way of moving than Steven McRae, but McRae seems to greater range of motion and amplitude. They’re both great dancers and REALLY, REALLY easy on the eyes. I love watching them both. And they’re both Australian!
This maitre is THE BEST. He breathes the language and is inspiring. From 48.00 it’s astonishing how fluent he is. Bravo !
Totally delighted and charmed I've been sitting and watching this video for somewhat an hour until I've got my lower limbs totally numbed ))
It beggars belief to a non dancer how they remember the teacher's long list of steps to be done in sequence! I'm sure it comes with years of training...but wow!
+Warrendoe They have been learning since they were 5 and studying full time since 11; it is probably second nature, a bit like how you remember your reading and writing!
Exactly what crossed my mind watching this video
true but still, if someone read me a long list of normal words, I wouldn't remember it straight off like that...
If you took class every day for say... 6 months, and took the time outside of class to learn the vocabulary, you would probably be able to pick up the combinations. Whether you'd be able to do the steps well is a different question. Classical ballet vocabulary is not actually all that big (it's not tiny either, but compared to, say, learning a foreign language, it's quite small) it's more about learning the grammar, what steps tend to follow other steps, that you would really get from class every day. It helps if there are good dancers in class with you. Yes, even as a beginner adult it should be quite doable.
Warrendoe, when you get older especially a few years before apprentice they start teaching choreography much quicker for shows which helps in class. You also can have a teacher for such a long time you know what they mean. I'm that way. We learned flowers for Nutcracker in 2 hours. Flowers is about a 6-7 minute dance, I also have had a few teachers for quite a few years. Maybe 6 years, you get to understand them better and better.
Ten pianista jest mistrzem świata! Brawo chłopie!!!
Thank you so much for uploading this @RoyalOperaHouse 👍👍👍
These dancers are simply amazing, my oh my!
The ginger guy's beats are out of this world.
As I read your comment he was doing them they were so fast but so controlled at the same time
Among all the companies this was my fav class
this is too beautiful to stop watching...
I just found this video. it is Awesome. For hoots and giggles I danced a long. 36 min. in I had to stop dripping with sweat.. LOL. Haven't taken a ballet class in many years. I am searching for an adult class right now... I just loved it. It felt wonderful to move like that. I thought I had forgotten all the French terms.... but it is much like riding a bicycle it comes back to you.
Thank god that this was finally uploaded!!! I thought it would not happen. Please keep them coming, I love watching these full-classes. Very inspirational and this one was better filmed (POVs from above) and less interviews. I look forward to the next one (there will be a next one...right? :)
Love your name. Have you seen the Mary Tyler Moore episode where she laughs at a funeral. Chuckles the Clown was killed by an elephant.
Been there, done that at a funeral (along with copious weeping)
i do repeat this ballet class in my bedroom once a week , i use my window beam or top of my bed as barre :D Then when they start to doing center i take my yoga matte and strech , strech and strech till the end of the class:)Gosh, inreally love ballet and It's shamefull that i live in this country.:////
which country do you live in?
Turkey, istanbul .
The founder of the Royal Ballet, Dame Ninette De Valois, invested a lot of time and energy during the 1950s and 1960s in founding a national ballet company for Turkey. Do you know if any of her legacy from those early years survive to this day in Turkey?
Aves Raggiana the company is still performing and was in quite good shape last time i saw them. they are underfunded however and have had many problems finding performing spaces in istanbul that make financial sense.
alfredskilton Thank you for your response. I’m guessing that the company De Valois founded is the present-day Ankara State Ballet. There are very few videos of them here on youtube but the few I’ve seen have turned out some pretty creditable performances.
excellent class, great dancers, wonderful pianist--inspirational--thank you
Amazing dancers!! Much love from Germany
