In our RX350 F Sport First Test, we noted steering can feel numb, and the base powertrain isn't especially quick. Our RX 500h F Sport Performance tester, however, felt quick and benefitted from precise steering. The RX 500h won a comparison test against the Mercedes-Benz GLE450e for its combination of sportiness and value. We were surprised to learn the less powerful 450h+ was actually a better performer. That said, the RX is not as spacious as competitors. It's not perfect, but the RX has always been a solid accessible alternative to German rivals, offering enough refinement to attract both luxury crossover newbies and longtime RX loyalists.
A 9.8-inch touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard 2024 RX fare, and the upgrade infotainment interface is a 14.0-inch display. As with safety systems for 2024, some technology has filtered down to lesser trim levels. A wireless phone charger, digital key, and heated steering wheel are optional for the base model, and for the RX Premium, a hands-free power liftgate and 360-degree camera are newly available.
The Premium+ can now be optioned with a head-up display and digital rearview mirror. Finally, heated and ventilated powered rear seats have become standard for the Luxury trim and available for F Sport Performance models.
The 2024 Lexus RX is available in six trims this year: Standard, Premium, Premium+, Luxury, F Sport Handling, and F Sport Performance. Prices for the 2024 RX350 FWD start at around $50,000, and the most expensive variant is the RX450h+ Luxury AWD, which comes with an MSRP just over $70,000.
