When I was a kid, my mom took us to this new book store that opened up in Florida. She was looking through the books and picked one up. She said she had a book like this when she was a kid. She opened up the cover, and found her maiden name, written in her own handwriting, on the inside of the cover. It was the exact same book she had growing up in Pennsylvania and New York.

I worked at large group of primary care physicians and we often raised money for charities through gift baskets, book sales and good condition used items and I spied a really nice gym bag with lots of zippered compartments one of the doctors brought in for the sidewalk sale and I bought it for $8.00 and when I got it home I found almost $60.00 bucks in it!

Like, 10 years ago my aunt had a buzz lightyear toy. It took some beatings like itâs helmet was broken and completely gone and a few of the stickers were peeled off. It mysteriously went missing 6 years ago. Last year, I went to an op shop (what Australians call thrift shops) and found a buzz lightyear same model, same condition and even had my name on the boot. Strangely enough, this ended up in Victoria. The strange thing is that it was lost in Queensland and I found it on a holiday to Victoria. So if I didnât go on holiday or didnât go to that op shop we would have never found it.

When we lived in the USA in the early to mid 90s, we used to go with my Dad to the "good neighborhoods" around the Los Angeles area from Friday to Sunday, and found lots of stuff people just threw out. We would filled the pick up until the tail almost scraped the ground with furniture, home appliances, sporting goods, tableware, silverware, clothes, you name it! The best of the best we would keet it, the rest, we'd sell it in a yard sale and we used to make like 50 bucks a day selling what the average US citizen call 'junk'. I miss those days...
