My father just passed away from a heart attack. The main thing I noticed with him was it would be warm temperatures in the home and he would grab a blanket and lay down in the chair. He really wouldn’t say if he felt sick or not but I could tell he was feeling ill. We kind of thought maybe Covid but he had a heart attack before and I remember him feeling cold even when the house temp was warm. The last night he was alive he told my mother that he had pain in his neck. She thought maybe his glands were causing the pain but she told him he needs to go to the hospital. He didn’t want to go at the time because he didn’t believe that the heart was the issue because his arteries weren’t blocked besides the one they put the stent in back in 2017. My last words to him were you need to go to the fucking hospital, but he still didn’t take it seriously and so we went to bed and my mother woke me up at 5am crying whimpering the words “I think your dad is dead” so I rushed into the living room to see him with his eyes barely open and his lower jaw sagging. We called 911 and got him onto the floor and did cpr with no results. The paramedics came in and put the defibrillator on him and did cpr with no results. Most terrifying experience I’ve ever had, no one should have to do cpr on their dad with the mother watching. After the funeral home came and picked his body up we were looking for clues if he struggled in the house or just died in his sleep. The blanket he had on him when we went to bed was not on him when we dragged him out of the chair so we went to his bedroom and it was tossed on the bed next to the bathroom. Next we noticed all the lights were on in the house and that he had all his clothes on the table in the living room like he was about to get dressed and go somewhere. I’ll never know why he didn’t wake us up to get him to the hospital. He woke up and was all over the house and he got back in his chair reclined it, and died. I just hope those out there having issues that could be heart related go get checked out and not put it off.

My heart goes out to you. My dad died 30 years ago, in his chair. He’d got up during the night after telling my mum he had a bit of indigestion. She found him dead as if he’d fallen asleep in his chair when she got up. I’ll never forget the shock of the phone call from her. Even if I’d been there, and there had been time, I don’t think I’d have been able to do CPR on him - I’d have been too traumatised. I’ve since been on first aid courses, just in case. We never know what’s round the corner. You did your best for him. ❤️

I had shortness of breath, pain in my jaw, and pain in between my shoulder blades. Not much chest pain until I was in ICU for a week. I had no insurance, no follow up, or rehab. I just started walking a little each day until I was able to ride my bike. I complained to my doctor I thought I was going to have a heart attack for 2 months leading up to attack. I had sob and one of my legs kept going numb. Doc said numb leg was probably sciatica and slipped disc in my back. I never want to go thru another one. The heart attack hurts like hell and it takes months to get your strength back. Been 10 years and all my annual cardio is great.

I've had 3 identical heart attacks, treated at the same hospital, each was a 100% blockage in the circumflex, 3 stents & all identical symptoms, 1. Chest pressure, 2. Unworldly jaw pain 3. Couldn't catch my breath 4. Throwing up.
I knew exactly what was happening when each episode started, made it to the hospital within one hour. Waited for the troponin to reveal itself and off to the cath lab each time. Every first blood draw presented no troponin level and the ekgs were all unremarkable. Be in tune with your body and listen to that little bird. When you get to the hospital stand firm on your care. I'm perplexed at why me but there is a helluva great life I'm living out too. My goal every morning is to crush the day for everything it has and I'm happy to say I do that. Getting to the hospital early has preserved my ❤️ and my ❤️ repayed me today with a 2 mile run and an equally pleasing back and bicep workout. I hoping for more of the same tomorrow morning.
    Be beautiful people ❤👍

@atabac I arrived to the ER within 1 hour of symptoms before troponin levels begin to present. The first blood draws were zero, 2nd blood draws began to show low levels of troponin. This last time the 2nd draw troponins were around 430, 3rd blood draw troponin levels were through the roof and they finally scurried me to the cath lab. EKGS showed normal every single time

Hi Bob and Brad, this is very informative video, love this channel and your videos. This video got me worried.
Not long ago i had some dull, sharp chest pain, i feared that heart attack was on the way, but thank God nothing bad happened, but the pain kept staying. I did cardiogram, full blood, sugar and, as advised, a D vitamin test. Everything was fine, but I had D vitamin deficiency and that it maybe one of the causes for me to feel my nervs around my central nervous system. I wont lie, i have a problems with bad posture, tension and pain in my neck, back, rounded shoulders, even sharp pain in my lover back as i bend in, I am aware of these things. I still have that tense feeling in my chest, but my guess and what i feel is because of the back problems, like the tension is radiating from my back. This is going on for a long time now, am i playing the waiting game or if i had such a risk of heart attack it would already happened? I appreciate your time!

Aspirin doesn't "thin the blood"; it prevents platelets from clumping together and worsening a clot. The advice to chew aspirin is good, but you need to make sure that the aspirin isn't enteric-coated or timed-release, as aspirin from such formulations gets absorbed much more slowly than regular aspirin even if you chew it into a fine powder (and it's getting harder & harder to find uncoated aspirin at all--you may have to settle for chewable baby aspirin, and just take more of them to get close to 325 mg). The most important factor is speed! A heart attack is a dynamic process, and every second counts.

I agree with you about anxiety. Heart attack symptoms if you had to watch them, you will get serious generalized anxiety disorder attack than a heart attack. The more that you listen to these moron doctors, they confuse you to the point that having diahrea is also a sign of a massive colon heart attack. Go check with a cardiologists instead of this vague BS until you turn nuts.

@@forbes1325 reading this helped me. I keep thinking about heart attacks and strokes because of my drinking. Im trying to quit. But sometimes (like today) I will get a random pain. Like a pain in my heart that comes as fast as a single beat, and then the next following beats there;s no more pain. And i wont feel it again all day or at least not this hour. Like i might feel it again two or five times in a day tops. other days there;s nothing. The pain isnt even that bad. it just scares me and its gone so fast. I dont get shortness of breath or cold sweats. The jaw pain stuff is a bit too common though for me, however its been months and I haven't had an attack. i feel body aches all the time but hard to say if any of it is anxiety or signs of death by weak arties or something. my headaches in strange ways like at the temples at times or down the middle of my head at top, never the whole head though. Sigh. Maybe a stroke is coming idk.

My late husband died from a heart attack at 36. He had fatigue, funny feeling in his chest, loss of stamina. Had a heart work up and they did not find anything. 2 months later died. He was throwing up for no reason so we went to the ER. This time he did have troponin showing so they did an angiogram. It finally should something that never showed up with the EKG, stress test or eco earlier. Unfortunately, he still died in the hospital the next morning awaiting surgery. But one other symptom he'd had for several months was impotence. Another sign that is not talked about. But I have seen it listed as an official sign. If you have a blockage of blood flow, make sense. He had Lupus, a complex medical history and was young, but the lesson is to listen to yourself and your body. He knew that it was his heart for 6 months even when doctors said it wasn't, test were fine etc. We should have gotten a second opinion.

I have had a hiatal hernia for decades. When it acts up it literally feels like a heart attack-extreme tighness and pain in the chest, which sometimes radiates up the neck to the jaw. Happily I have not had problems with it in recent years. When routine EKGs and various other heart related tests have been done, it shows I have never had a heart attack. My grandfather died of a heart attack, my mother died from congestive heart failure, and my oldest brother had a heart attack and 5 bypass surgery at age 57. So I am grateful at age 65 to still be ok in this area. Thank you B & B for these good reminders!

I don't remember anything a few days b4, either. Now I have flashes or anxiety attacks. Like dreams, then break out in a sweat. It's really strange. I go to a cardiologist in Feb. It's been a stressful 2 years of the pandemic. I did have an UTI, which can cause a heart attack. No injury to my heart. I wore a heart monitor for 14 days. The heart meds they gave me, made me sick and I broke out in blisters on my face and neck. I'm super sensitive to synthetic meds and docs never believe me. I have no idea what triggered it and still have no memory of the incident. Any insights?

I had a good laugh when Bob said that TPN is given to reverse stroke. You were very close Bob. After stroke there is a short window of time when tPA (tissue plasminogen activator) most likely will be given unless there is a very odd reason it is not indicated such as very recent surgery.
Total parenteral nutrition (TPN) is a method of feeding that bypasses the gastrointestinal tract. Fluids are given into a vein to provide most of the nutrients the body needs. The method is used when a person cannot or should not receive feedings or fluids by mouth.
tPA ~ TPN... they are two very different things!
