So enough of all this BS, and just appreciate what this is......A friend paying tribute to someone who is no longer with us. And enjoy the timeless music that is THE BEATLES
You'd think the fans would learn from John and Paul's mistakes and all their BS and pettiness about "who wrote what, who gets credit for what, he said she said (she said)" and realize it doesn't matter. It didn't matter then and it's mattered less and less to pretty much nothing as The Beatles have truly become the stuff of legend over time. What's absolutely certain is Lennon and McCartney have immortal legacies, together and separate, and whether Paul says John wrote Help! or Paul wrote Help! or Ringo wrote Help!, WE know John wrote Help!, EVERYBODY knows John wrote Help!, and as much as you can laugh at or get angry with Paul, call him petty, pathetic, yell at him for grabbing a bit of credit as he is wont to do, in the end, Paul included Help! in the medley because he wanted to pay tribute to JOHN LENNON. No matter what he says or however he happens to phrase even the tiniest things off the cuff (which the small but intensely vocal, insecure, and unforgiving portion of Lennon's otherwise pretty awesome fanbase never fail to pick apart for their routine Macca character assassinations)...he obviously recognizes that it's a John song. Period. Some things are worth complaining about, but there should seriously be no problem here. Paul can say whatever he wants, but again, at this point, everybody knows the history and the credits backwards and forwards and I'm sure he realizes that. No doubt that he can be a royal douchebag and spout off arrogant bullshit even to this day, but like that's anything new with The Beatles (well, actually Ringo was always pretty cool, always going around wearing his shades and flashing that peace sign, love that guy!). Fact is that for all Paul says in this interview or that interview, he ultimately has never shown anything but the utmost respect for John's legacy, as a person, as a solo musician, and as an essential artistic voice in the greatest fucking rock band of all time. So...what are we arguing about?
Dylan Burgess You said it all very well. Paul ALWAYS had respect for John, despite the differences. Those issues were the result of John's pretty heavy drugging, but in the middle of it all he still wanted to play and write music with his best friend. I watched the 2015 RRHF and was touched and a little saddened that 2 Beatles are no longer with us. When you grieve for someone as close as those 2 were, the grief goes on forever - it changes a bit, but it is always there. I was thinking how great it would have been if all 4 of them could have been on the stage together, like Green Day, and hear all the love and applause directed at Ringo, but also at the band's longevity. I just find the whole thing so very sad.
The simple answer is that they're not fans, just petty little non-entities with a manic desire to be "right". I've followed the Beatles since day one - literally (yes, I'm an old bastard). John Lennon and Paul McCartney, like everyone else on the planet, were/are complicated individuals with multiple layers of personality, flaws, foibles. They had fights and disagreements, and in their personal lives some low points. None of that matters, and it makes their music all the more rich and timeless. The music of Lennon, McCartney, Harrison and Starr has been the soundtrack to my life, and will last far beyond me and everyone else here.
Being able to hear these songs sung by the amazing Paul Mccartney in honor of John Lennon really is one of the great gifts of modern life. Rest in peace John Lennon. Beatles never die, their legacy will last long after any of us.

@@TheSanityInspector I’m not sure I think his voice sounds great on the countless demo tapes and raw cuts that exist. John hated his own voice and would ask George Martin to add some echo or double tracking etc to make it sound better but it didn’t need that in reality. Listen to him on his solo track Mother. Absolutely terrific.
The group was The Beatles, not the Lennons or the McCartneys. I love hearing Paul sing more of the songs that John did the lead on. All these people that try to pit them against each other or give more credit to one than the other are missing the point. They were in a group. Together. Thank you: Sir Paul. Absolutly: Stunning. Thank you: The Beatles. For me: The best Band forever. All song is a masterpiece. May rest in peace: George and John. Thank's for sharing.
Macca loved John. John loved Macca. Nothing can ever change that. Together they were a force we will never see repeated in the world of popular music. Nothing else needs saying.
Lennon + McCartney = Genius!
Such brilliance is rarely manifested, and even less frequently witnessed.
What a beautiful gesture. Fantastic
PAul is such a sweetheart
This might be very off topic but, this is my favourite hair of Paul's
Paul's hair was best 1963-1964
1967 for me. Fool on the hill video is perfection
It's Alex Bryant let it be era for me...well, mostlt because of the beard..he looks so peaceful.
Kaben 😀
alex the “90’s Paul mullet” lol. I think every man who had a decent amount of hair did the Paul mullet in the 90’s.
I hear you, mate. They both had their distinctive styles and when these merged, beautiful music was formed. Couldn't be happier to have all of The Beatles albums at home.
This was the most moving thing I've ever witnessed in my life with the exception of actually seeing the Beatles. Music does and can change the world.
The proof in the pudding is that I am here and I never tire of listening to the Beatles. I went through some crazy shit back in the era of the Beatles. 66 now.
Living legend.....and a proud scouser...god bless you Ace
Even today, Paul McCartney still puts on amazing shows like this. :3
Exactly....Give Peace a Chance!!!!!! Paul McCartney we LOVE you💞💖. John we LOVE you, we miss you😢. Rock them in heaven.🎸🤟 Peace and Love ☮️❤️
i was there brilliant, just brilliant
God bless John and George, God bless Paul and Ringo, and God bless the Beatles.
It shows what a great voice John had. It was unique and the songs aren’t the same when sung by someone else
If John wanted anyone else singing his songs, it'd be Paul. If Paul wanted anyone else to sing his songs, it'd be John.
Much of what people think they like about John's voice is really that "halo" that George Martin's production added to it.
@@TheSanityInspector Honestly, yeah
@@TheSanityInspector I’m not sure I think his voice sounds great on the countless demo tapes and raw cuts that exist. John hated his own voice and would ask George Martin to add some echo or double tracking etc to make it sound better but it didn’t need that in reality. Listen to him on his solo track Mother. Absolutely terrific.
@@TheSanityInspector It sounds great on Get Back, without any halo... but sure, the strawberry field voce was quite artificial
Two musical geniuses, there were no Beatles without them if one is missing.. tnx sa music
Amazing tribute to great John
The group was The Beatles, not the Lennons or the McCartneys. I love hearing Paul sing more of the songs that John did the lead on. All these people that try to pit them against each other or give more credit to one than the other are missing the point. They were in a group. Together. And the total was greater than the sum of the parts-or however that phrase goes. They all made the music better.
It makes me sad when people try to pit them against each other. The four Fabs together were true magic!
Nice tribute Paul.I bet John was smiling down at you when he heard it.Cheers!
You can’t get more 80s than that outfit. Haha Paul rules!
When I was alot younger I had a small band I played keyboard and sang and I m still transfixed by Paul McCartney
Music heals and Paul is a healing force in and of himself
Paul uplifts and makes people happy. That’s so important and not to be taken for granted.
I LOVE THE BEATLES... I love Paul Mc Cartney
This is just wonderful. If there's anyone out there that deserves the most to make a John Lennon tribute it's definitely Paul McCartney, and I think his song choices were fantastic too! Long live The Beatles and R.I.P. John and George too =]
this was amazing. rest in peace, john. you will live in our hearts forever
Listening to Sir Paul singing the would be Sir John's songs was just beautiful.
Pure respect from Paul to John. Beautiful & touching.
Goosebumps.......
I was at this concert...brilliant ... I will never forget that night.
Sor. James Paul McCartney is. Wanderful. Loved love love love
I think this is "Friends of the Earth Tour, and I went to it in Dallas and it was anything but uninspiring. That was a concert from the moment he walked on the stage you inhaled and didn't exhale until the next day. There are no words to describe Paul McCartney "live' I have been a Beatles nut since age 2 and he took me by surprise. His stage presence, no words, still gives me goosebumps to think about it and know that I saw the greatest musician that will ever be.
thank you for letting me see this. xo me
It's amazing that something as simple as writing songs could be so important to the world. They just happened to be the best at it.
I like hearing Paul singing John's songs. Closest you'll get to him is his pal and band member singing his stuff.
I like how Paul is singing Help how John wanted the song to be
I LOVE THIS !
Excelente escuchar a Paul cantar estás canciones! Una de sus mejores interpretaciones!!!
God Bless Sir Paul McCartney's
And John Lennon's Special Friendship. Timeless. 🎶🎸
