Up at 3am with buyers remorse right now.
Did it pass? I have remorse and can’t sleep. I’ve been crying and all
@@Erika-cw7ez awe man I'm sorry..it sucks! I'm sure I got much worse of a deal. It's been 1 year and a half and I will still get mad at myself in waves about it every time I'm in the car but it does get a lot better because there's nothing you can do about it.
I just went through a job loss but having two paid off cars in the household right now is absolutely priceless.
Keep that emergency savings full! It’s about to get worse before it gets better.
If I may ask, what industry were you let go from. I agree it is going to get worse and I’m sorry to hear of the job loss. Sounds like you were well prepared and planned accordingly for this circumstance.
@@humanflag1922 Thank you for your words. It was the automotive industry.
I've literally seen people post that they are about to finish paying off their 5-yr old car and want to get the 'new' model and start all over.
I think it's ingrained in some people to have monthly car payments.
It was such a relief to pay off our 2011 Kia. We kept it but bought a new car in 2020.
My 18 year old drives the Kia
My wife has a new car.
Having no payment for those years was fantastic.
It's actually shocking how much cars have gone up recently too.
People want the newest things to show off.
People many are insecure and feel like a new car signals they are doing well when vast majority barely can afford the car.
@@des711 My friends and I call it Peacocking. get it?
@@alinatamashevich3354 I love it.
Another example of "I can't be seen driving a older car "🙄
Well no one’s going to respect you driving an old Honda all day. Who will respect or appreciate you? No the right answer is to be in a car that tells the world you’re a somebody. Not a nobody.
@@costco_pizza the real “somebody’s” in this world drive whatever they want to, because they don’t care what a stranger at a stoplight thinks about their car.
@@costco_pizza With the exception of motorsports, if someone's respect is tied to what I drive then I don't want that person's respect. What a stupid idea.
Spent over 32k on a Kia 😳. You just can’t make these stuff up.
Uh that’s lower than average
Could have spent 80k on a Dodge lol
This video made me realize that Teslas aren't really all that expensive.
@@stephenshelton4267 correct
Kia's aren't like they were in the early 2000's. They have come a LONG way and are giving the Germans a run for their money.
Stop switching cars people, it's much cheaper to keep a car for 10 or better 20 years than trading up every 2-3 years.
Dude they hosed her at the dealership 😆 my cousin works at a dealership and he loves clients who talk like this.
Because he loves taking advantage of people?

32k on a Kia is dumb tbh.
The negative equity is strong in her....
It’s hard to convince others to buy used cars. They assume someone else got rid of it because it has problems.
Possible...but I stick with reliable brands and haven't had any issues after due diligence.
Fewer than 25% of people actually maintain their vehicles according to the schedule.
So their assumptions are correct.
That part is true specially lease returns, no one takes care a lease, just floor it all the time
@@johndone8045 My brother once leased a C63 AMG and it got t-boned. I fixed for him and when he returned it, the dealer listed it with an auto history report showing a "minor" accident when the car went back with a branded title.

Why do you think she has no money anywhere…….????
@@ddellwo she is not planning her financial future at all
Whenever I hear KIA, I just know its going to be a disaster.
30k car on a 50k salary, who is giving out these loans?
Depends on your financial situation, a $30k car is below average these days. Right now is not a great time to buy a car... or a house... or just about anything.
Someone that saw her coming from a mile away.
Don’t understand why she would even buy another car in the first place. Larger payments, higher tax and insurance.
Paid $15k cash in 2014 for my 2012 used subcompact and that was with a $160k/yr salary.
I just wanted heated steering wheel/seats and remote start from cellphone
Still runs and looks great from point A to B at around 36 mpg.
Insurance $450/yr.
Dealers making huge money off dumb car buyers.
Anyone can get a loan if you ignore the terms i.e. how long; interest rate; payment and never think about how much the insurance will be on a new anything. Also - must ignore the gas mileage it gets too. Just worry about how "impressed" other will be.....
@@blackworldtraveler3711 You sir are a very smart individual in my books!!! Respect. 🙂
Dave asking this lady if she had any money I laughed like crazy.
That woman is out of control.
Aren't they all though????
She needed some wise advice before doing anything. I never do anything car related without consulting some men.
Some people never learn...
Buying a KIA is always a BAD Decision….
Out of all the cars out there you had to buy a KIA. Ughh.
A Kia??? why?
I'm sure many people are having buyer's remorse after buying real estate too.
I have it buying a candy bar!
Yea with over priced houses
@@summerforever6736 Have you priced chocolate?
52K a year and she buys a 32K car?! 🤦♀
First issue is unless there was something seriously wrong with the 2017 Kia - pay it off and drive it into the ground.
Second issue was buying brand new as the only time you buy new unless paying cash for it and if brand new is the only option you have as it is a depreciating asset - not appreciating.
Third issue is "need vs. want" as in why do you need a new car, truck, SUV, etc. as well as ignoring "show & tell" to other humans.
U never buy a car with cash, thats stupid, use the low rate advantage

$32k for a Kia she was better selling her old car and buy a Toyota in cash
That Kia going to tear up so fast.

@@queen.kristal8395 Kia are those cars you have to pray the morning before you get in it . Lordddd pleasee let this car crankkkkk.
I think her buying a Toyota would've been a better idea too.
Yep, a lot of Kia/Hyundai fans swear by their reliability due to their own experiences but fail to realize these cars still have a much higher unreliability rate that the average car should have. I’ve seen these people defend the brand while still having to replace the engine prematurely or having major issues
Well, you know what they say, third time's the charm. Another old saying is "When you find yourself in a hole, stop digging." This caller is going to wind up with a $10k car and a $20k loan and probably have a worse car than the original.
I say that exact same thing. “Gotta pay the stupid tax”. Except you want the pain to stay so you never make the same mistake again.
Why did she buy a new car? Ugh.
After you pay your car off, keep making the payment to your savings account. Drive the car into the ground. When you have to replace it, the money will be there.
Yeah… and 10 years more on her will be there too.
Dave, is that you? LoL.
@@alinatamashevich3354 No, It’s Suze Orman. 😀
@@genxx2724 Yikes! Run Forrest run
There is very little difference between a 2022 year car and it’s 2017/2018 version. Literally cosmetic changes, if that. Oh, and the many thousands more you will owe for years to come. A 2017 is “new”. People do make strange decisions. A well maintained four year old car is the way to go.
Every time Dave insists that he has done things “more stupid” than the caller, my brain always wonders: “Man! What are those things?!?” 😂
It was when his Jaguar got repo'd on his way to bankruptcy in the 80s.
Probably when he told that retired nurse to wipe out her 401k to pay off the house.
IIRC he took out a bunch of risky loans with little to no money down in the 1980s to buy over $1M in real estate, but his original lender merged with a larger bank, which recalled at least one of his loans because it was too risky. He couldn't pay it back even if he sold everything, so he had to file bankruptcy.
@@lmelior Yes, the Jaguar repo was just a small part of Dave's house of cards falling down.
Making you was one of those things
address your addiction to KIA first. don't step foot in that dealership again. don't look at one used. I know many other brands are twice as expensive.... but

Ouch. I'm still rolling in my 13 year old car. No reason to get a new one. Haven't had a payment in 10 years. Feels good.

@@alleykeosheyan4779 I'd rather go into debt for a ramcharger than anything new. Love those things.
New cars are a tax on the mathematically stupid.
It used to be, but in 2021 and 2022, it blows my mind that a used car is more expensive than a new car. Makes no sense!! Even new houses cost less than and 3-year old one. This world is backwards.
@@kvmairforce that’s changing as we speak.
It sure is...fine with me gives me good used cars to buy when I buy a car.
@@tristan2332 When new cars are scarcer or harder to come by (due to supply chain and manufacturing issues - skilled worker and parts/materials shortages) the price of used cars goes up. Conversely, when new cars are quite affordable, the price of used cars slumps, sometimes dramatically below the value of that car (in terms of its condition). It's all about supply and demand. All those auto wreckers who crushed good used cars would literally be bathing in money now had they kept the best ones in a warehouse and sold them as roadworthy cards. But in the pre-pandemic era, cars were plentiful and regularly produced in large numbers - no-one anticipated the sudden and massive downturn in production co-inciding with a huge increase in demand (but mainly by consumers not wanting to buy new vehicles due to only needing a car to get through the pandemic).
Drive it fully insured into a hurricane or wild land fire and walk away.
Stupid tax

I make payments not every month but every week. I get paid every Friday and the first thing that happens is payments into savings and investment. I haven’t missed a single payment in years

Now it's time to stop blaming yourself and fix the mistake.

For a fancy upgrade….
Always buy the cheapest car your ego can handle.
That’s why I daily drive a 1991 Honda Civic DX.
That’s funny.
My ego can handle any car but at a certain age or milage. You're just setting yourself up for lots of expensive repairs. All cars die eventually. Or become economically worthless.
