This siren is part of the Spartanburg County Outdoor Warning System, and it is tested on the first Saturday of every month weather permitting at 1:00 pm, and is controlled by the Spartanburg County Emergency Management Agency
We made it to our final siren recording for this month, which is a reshoot of the Federal Signal 2001-130 in Cowpens, South Carolina. Funny enough, I actually recorded this siren last year in April with AeroWX and ClayRanger143. But either way, we all got the recordings we need for this month. However, as soon as we were about to end the recording, Spartanburg County has committed the funny yoinky sploink and activate alert mode for a second time. We don't know if they activated it on accident or maybe it was something else. I contacted the Spartanburg EMA and asked if one of the crewmembers accidentally press the alert mode twice and they said it was just a monthly test, which wasn't an answer we were looking for. But either way, everything was a success and no more yoinky sploinks.
