One of the most beautiful airs I’ve ever seen!! Straight flying she disappeared out of the camera range they weren’t ready for that haha, Carissa rocks, reinventing and consistently trying to improve, as she said, is what makes her year after year one of the best surfers in the world!!

Unlike power moves like carves or rail control in big waves, women surfers have no reason at all to doubt their competence when it comes to airs, i would say they are better naturally equipped than men to perform graceful manoeuvres like airs, just look at how women gymnasts can do things that many men can't do with the same style and grace.

@@hommedesdunes1150---No woman would qualify period. Any man in the top 100 of the QS would cut a swath through the women's CT. It's a shame that the QS prize money wasn't increased rather than the women's tour. Can't have it about merit these days though.

@@PlaySA agreed. I don't understand the point of the comment in general - we know men by in large surf better and more progressive than women. But why watch a women's heat to state that men are better than women? This accomplishes what, relative to the heat we just saw? Besides, I've seen Carissa surf in person and she f-in shreds.

@@PlaySA That isn't "the point of the move" and a full rotation in the air scores higher. Carissa is a very talented surfer, but the reaction you're seeing is surfers reacting to the Politically Correct narrative that the women are being paid the same as men because their performance is approaching the men's level, when almost anyone that surfs knows is very far from the case. Accusing a commenter of not surfing as well is just silliness.
