Strange the amount of negative comments you read about womens competitive surfing in these highlight videos, 99.9% of the time from men... just ask yourself do you look as good or have as much style as Stephanie Gilmore when you surf before posting a negative comment the next time...

Gilmore looks so much better than Peterson in my honest opinion. She carves the most beautiful arching turns and with total grace on top of the board. Hell even the dolphins were Gave her 8 fins.
Steph is so fluid, so pleasant to watch. Never panicking always in control.
So I will say this every chance I get a long version of the wave could be run on the bottom few inches of the screen all the way across so that we can see the whole wave .maybe panoramic. because seen close-ups of Surfing is like watching someone's foot while they're skateboarding instead of looking at the ramp and the bowl
Just hanging out for some long walls to see what can be done with the groove .. always love great surfing..
Stephanie Gilmore is amazing. If Mike parsons aka Snips weren’t Lakey Peterson’s coach she wouldn’t be close to a world title, it’s completely rigged! Not saying Lakey isn’t a good surfer but overall she is at best top 5. The WSL is also trying to get an American to win another title as well before Olympics
I am not a surfer; I'm watching the wave pass an area and you see a brown spot (obviously sand) come up from the bottom and make distinct spots on the wave. What causes that?
Max Andersen the wave energy passes over a suction part in the reef and blows water and sand to the surface
before a wave breaks, it is a swell rolling like a wheel toward shore. imagine driving fast and your wheel throws mud or sand. same principle.

I'm loving women's surfing so much these days. Watching way more than the men's now 'cause i love to see carving & hacking...so bored with the men pumping & doing airs, I'm not a skate fan so 😴. Well done girls. Some real beasts on tour now! Tatiana is insane on big waves, Tyler & Carissa are such powerhouses and Steph is a gracful as ever, now Parko has retired is she the only surfer with gorgeous lines on tour?

❤ excellent stylish aggressive surfing from both ladies, with each displaying some big powerful maneuvers. Lakey was looking fierce, and steph steph with some classic power grace, making things look easy. And yet another beautiful barrel from steph steph, would have been cool if it did not shut down on her. That board lakey is riding looks cool, fast, and maneuverable, and even though it doesn't look like a typical CI, maybe not a ci at all, and has hurley decals on the deck, its half pink and maybe its bigger than 6'0", which might be a nice addition to the 6'6" hot pink railed CI quiver we have, even though i would choose the 6'6" every day of the week :) as far as my lil steph steph goes, no one takes any shine off of her surfing, not even dolphins whos natural home it is they are surfing, and no one, i mean no one, puts baby in a corner 📣🙂

Gilmore surf's better than filepe or medina in my eyes. No jerking no hopping. Just straight up rail to rail carving with the style of lordy smith. Style is 3veeything to me and these girls absolutely flow with the water. Motion in the ocean. I find it more exciting to watch the gals surf .
