The dynasty is over. We have great memories , but basketball is about shooting, playing defense, youth, athleticism . Curry isn't going anywhere so we need to retool but can we even break the top 4. We all agree we need a big man. Who is going to guard AD, Joker, KAT. Start by trading Wiggins to Cleveland for Jarrett Allen, Sign and trade CP3and picks for Murray, trade Green and Moody for Tyler Herro. Lineup would be Curry, Hero ,Murray, JK, Allen.. Bench GP2,Podz, Santos, TJD
It will be closed for sure if they make some desperation trade like Phoenix did last summer.
Finally, somebody is putting it out there. The way it should be put out there. The warriors are too small too old. They need an upgrade. You put a 6 foot 2 inch gaurd out there and all they have to do. Just put a 6 foot 7 guard on you and shut it down.Especially when you have a player like Clay Thompson. Which is A set shooter on you and shut You down they need upgrading.

Hard to imagine the Dubs are any better without some big changes. They are no better than an 8-10 seed right now in the West. The Big 3 can still have some magic moments but that's all they are. Athleticism, rebounding and defense all have to improve for them to compete. Kylen is a wonderful host and moderator. A breath of fresh air, and a lovely one at that!

The warriors window is probably closed, and I hate to say it but it’s probably bc Steph’s not that guy anymore. He’s still a top 10 player but the years of him being a top 3 guy are kinda over.the second half of the season he averaged 22 on 38 percent, and if it continues that way then I think it’s over.

Warriors need a 2nd Superstar player to team up with Steph Curry. Can't be putting all the pressure on Steph to push the team over every regular season game because there is no other 2nd option on the team that can win the Warriors a game. 2nd option was supposed to be Andrew Wiggins, but Golden State can never depend on the guy to be available and healthy for an entire season.

Golden State Warriors 2024 - 2025 Roster could look completely different from seasons past.
Steph Curry, Draymond Green, Trayce Jackson-Davis ,Brandin Podziemski, *Maybe Jonathan Kuminga are safe on the team, everyone else on the team is up for a trade possibility or to leave in Free-Agency?
Would like for Klay Thompson to come back for Golden State next season, but if the Warriors and Sacramento Kings can make a swap of players.

I don't mean to be over critical, but the Jimmy Butler analysis is incomplete. Erin indicated if we got him we would be sprinkling in Klay and JK with him, but you won't have either should the Dubs make that trade. Jimmy makes almost 48.8 mil next year and then 52.4 mil the next season. To get him, we will have to get give up JK, Wiggs, picks and likely Podz in the deal. Its an "all-in" deal. With Butler's salary, we can't resign Klay either because of the CBA ramifications. This is important because many propose these deals but act as if we are just adding the desired player to the current roster. Not the case. Have to factor in what you are losing too. In the end, I agree with Erin that adding a 34-year old Butler is not a good move for us. I think the same is true of KD.
Its crazy that DeMarcus Cousins, Dwight Howard, Serge Ibaka all talented and healthy Centers were passed on by all 30 Teams in the NBA this season. DeMarcus Cousins only 33 years old and just came off winning Finals MVP for a Team in Taiwan. Make that make sense why 30 Teams would pass on Boogie (DeMarcus). Would even feel confident that if DeMarcus was on the Warriors this season they would've made the playoffs. Warriors Front Office is stuck in their Glory Years and not wanting to go Big again. When the rest of the league is going Big, Warriors have a Power Forward playing Center for them most of the time.
Unfortunately, they might be cooked and might have to blow the whole thing up. Not many avenues to get better but we didn’t realistically expect the same core to compete for 11-12 years in a row. Right? Also think they need perimeter defense and another scorer on the perimeter over a big. The celtics beat the mavs who have a 7’1 center with a 6’9 horford and 6’7-6’8 tillman because they have great perimeter defense. I think our goal should be to adding as much perimeter defense as possible

You're both saying we need a scoring big. But you also recognize we won all of our chips without that. Instead of seeing our chips as an anomaly, look at them as a blueprint. We don't need a scoring big because thats simply not how we win. Even when we had D Lee, Speights, D West, those guys all got limited minutes in the playoffs.
We need lockdown switchable defenders who can hit open (and sometimes contested shots) like 2015 Iggy, 2018 Klay, 2022 Wiggins, 2022 GP2, 2022 Otto. Those are the types of players we need.

If youre talking about a big like Stephen Adams, of course. Not sure how his name came up cuz hes not a free agent. A cheaper version of that who is available and a great fit IMO is Alex Len from the Kings. I consider these guys like "Bogut types". Definitely good to have bigs like that for the regular season to keep the team healthy. Asking guards to get 7 rebounds a game for a whole season is just way too much.
As for real pieces to make the team better, KD is obvious. But I dont want him and Draymond on the same team again. Ticking timebomb.

Recipe for renewal of Dubs success:
1. Kerr must go and CP3 must be asked if he would like to coach this team. If not, find a youngish high Bball IQ ex-player who is creative enough to build a new system almost from scratch.
2. Klay, Dray, Looney and WIggs must go. You don't reward cancers and aged-out one-way players with extended contracts.
3. Build a new system around a quality two-way big for JK and Trace to form bookends around to control the paint on both ends. Jared Allen would work. Embiid in a crunch.
4. FInd a first-class two-way guard/forward to take the outside pressure off Curry. Butler? Brunson? Kuwai?
5. Cure the addiction to "CurryLove" and realize that he is still a crucial part of the offense, but no longer is the centerpiece of the system.
6. The bench is super-strong, but needs many more minutes to develop cohesiveness and experience, while extending the careers of the starters. If CP3 is gone, a veteran high IQ talent with teaching and leadership skills must be found to replace him.
Living in the past is no longer an option if a future needs to be built.
The market value of Klay, Dray, Looney and Wiggs is now at its peak for each. If another year is wasted before they are unloaded, their value will be half of what it is today.
Ultimate question for Warriors fans: Do you want to witness the retirements of Curry, Klay and Dray in Warriors uniforms 2 or 3 years from now, or do you want a serious shot at another championship in that time frame and beyond? You cannot have both.
this needs to be heard by the front office and the coach.....what they should do is trade dray for poole so we can have some poole parties -wont happen - again get some young bigs and watch em roll...like she said they blew it at the trade deadline....we'll see if they revert back to the old warrior ways....they fired mark jackson for a whole lot less

The championship window closed in 2022. That was the crowning achievement for the franchise. Since then, the franchise has been living in the past. The primary problem is stale leadership. Kerr for all his success was handed a complete team after Mark Jackson built the team from the ground up and he was wildly successful in that role of manageing professional athletes in their prime. However, as time has gone on, KD is gone, Iggy is gone, Steph, Dray, and Klay are now all past their primes he is floundering. His weaknesses in X and O's is becomig more and more evident each year. Teams have figured out his offense and he really doens't know how to coach defense so that puts the Warriors in a tough spot. I also think he lacks the strength as a leader in keeping players accountable. This is why is tough on the kids like JK, Moody, etc. but he wilts when Dray, Steph, or Klay act up and he does nothing to correct the behavior. So in my opinion the Warriors have two options:
1. They change coaches. Move on from Kerr and get another voice in the locker room. Draymond is too comfortable and knows how to manipulate Kerr to his own benefit. The franchise was forever changed when Draymond punched Poole and then leadership did nothing to Draymond. You can't come back from that. Doesn't matter what business you are in, if the trust is gone and selective accountablity exists in an organization, then expect the results we have seen the past 2 years. Excercise the team on option on CP3's contract and send him, JK and Moody to the Minnestoa for Karl Anthony Towns. The trade helps the warriors and provides them with the talent to make one last push. Minn needs a pg like CP3 and then add JK and Moody to the Antman and this team will be really fun to watch.
2. Blow it up. Steph is past his prime. He is not in his prime he is past his prime. I hate when I hear people talk about Steph as though he is 33....folks the guy is 36 going on 37. Klay is a shell of himself after the horrible injuries he has had. Draymond is pretty much retired now. He has his moments, but can't control himself at his age and is undependable. When you add all this up, it is pretty obvious its time to blow it up.
- Trade Steph now. I know, I know, this sounds crazy, but in all honestly do you want to Steph miss the playoffs the rest of his career? Because this is where the team is headed. They are old, slow, and too expensive. Trade Steph now and get as many draft picks and young players as possible now. Look at OKC. That team has so many 1st round picks and talent a trade of Steph would net the Warriors a ton and give Steph and opportunity to win another title. Let's say OKC sends Giddy and 5 first round picks for Steph. Now you have Giddy, JK, Moody, TJD, and Podz to build around plus a ton of picks that can either be used or traded for another player. Trade Draymond. There are a ton of teams that could use Draymond. Send him to Detroit and grab some young talent and picks. Let Klay walk. The $40M off the books would be huge for the future.
Now what do I think is really going to happen? I think Lacob is going to bring everyone back and the next 2 years will be a farewell tour. It wouldn't shock me if in 2 years Lacob sells the team and leaves with Kerr, Steph, Klay, and Dray. I just don't think Lacob is willing to part with the core, it makes too much money, and with the All-Star game coming to SF next year, having Steph and the core together is very important. The next 2 years are going to be painful. The Warriors just don't have the talent to compete against Minn, Denver, Houston, OKC, Dallas, etc.

Cy approach to podcasting was about pushing more his own opinions which is fine but in a very biased and emotional manner. I guess for it to work you’d need to include both CP3 and Wiggins for salary purpose (which would be good for you, only one if it’s Jaquez instead of herro) but maybe include two of your young players (moody, Podz or Kuminga)

The best option is to trade Wiggins for John Collins and either trade cp3 or let him walk. They can resign klay unless Steve is willing to keep him on the bench.
