So Netanyahu wants us to believe that his bombs are so accurate that no civilians are being killed, but also that those aid workers were hit by accident, after they specifically told the Israeli forces where they were going to be? Saying that his story is hard to believe is putting it very mildly.

I work in humanitarian aid (don't want to dox myself, but can send proof to the PDS team). This story is absolutely terrifying to me. It was a clear targeting of aid workers distributing food during a manmade famine.
WCK is one of the best NGOs I've seen, they have no agenda or motive other then feeding those in need. They help in disaster and conflicts all over the world, including feeding Israelis after the October 7th attack. They were in no way anti-Israel or supporting Hamas and were still targeted. The message is clear.
Phil you also didn't mention that it wasn't just 1 attack. After the first car was hit, a second tried to rescue the survivors (while reporting the attack to the IDF) and was then hit... then third car went to try to rescue them and then that one was hit too. This is not some misunderstanding, they knew who they were and what they were doing. It was clearly a targeted strike.
The fact that aid workers (including an American) have to worry more about getting killed by a "democratic" government that their own countries support and supply then a literal terrorist organization backed by Iran is horrifying and really shows the state of this conflict.
I was in Ukraine last year, if Russia had had done this these governments would be calling for massive sanctions and threatening retaliation. Instead, since it's Israel, they'll maybe consider possibly giving the perpetrator a few less weapons next time. Terrible that i can't rely on my own government to support me over a foreign military actively engaged in mass slaughter.

It is a clear example of stupid thinking they're smart. You only pay the higher tax rate on the income above the bracket cutoff. Everything below that cutoff you pay the exact same as you would have were you in the lower tax bracket. You will pay the same amount on the first $20k you make as someone who makes only $20k, you pay the same amount on your first $50k as someone making $50k....

I can’t bring up this reminder enough: Pregnancy is measured from the date of your last period, so six weeks pregnant is actually four weeks from fertilization and one or two weeks from when your body, if pregnant, produces enough hormones to reliably test positive on an at-home test. If you test before your missed period at four weeks, you have to be able to make an appointment, make sure you have the cash to afford it, and the time off and travel available to go to one of the few remaining clinics in your state in one week.
Even in wanted pregnancies, six weeks is too early to see a lot of major issues that could threaten the pregnant person or the fetus, so if either is doomed to a short life filled with pain, they’re both SOL.
A six week ban is a total abortion ban, particularly on unplanned pregnancies.

At 19 weeks there was a spot on my son’s ultrasound. A tiny, bright, spot. I needed to get blood work done the day the doctor told me because the cut off for doing that one was that day. Blood work that would tell us if we were planning for a funeral, a difficult life, or it was just a spot. I consider us lucky. My son only has Down syndrome. The other trisomies meant funeral

I started searching for medical care when I found out at 5 weeks but couldn't find a medical practice in a 1.5 hr driving radius that would even confirm my pregnancy in the 1st trimester in the area due to high demand. I had to drive 3 hours to a major city to get 1st trimester medical care. I just looked at a map tracking abortion access across the US and now my state is one of the most southern not banning abortions after the 1st trimester. I can't imagine how difficult it's going to be for people to get abortions since we don't have enough providers here to even get basic pregnancy care.

The issues we need to address in regard to obesity are at the societal level- most of us are overworked, overstressed, not sleeping enough, nog getting enough physical activity, not eating enough fresh produce/ eating too much processed food, etc. and these problems are EXTREMELY hard to fix at the individual level but could be fixed much more rapidly with a culture change.

So you have about one week before your period might happen (four weeks) but if you have a longer time between periods then add another week (5 weeks) and most pregnancy tests aren’t sensitive enough tell until you’re late. If you don’t get them at all due to birth control or rarely because of your own hormones, or have a light period anyways and have spotting (that one tricked me with my second kid) it can look like a period at the time.
I was about 6 weeks with my first and we were trying. Nine weeks with my second and we had given up the idea of being about to have another.

    Florida's abortion ban is devastating.
I lived in Florida in my early twenties for college and ended up getting pregnant. I found out when I 8 weeks along, after becoming violently sick and having to be hospitalized. The doctor's barely wanted to treat me because even though I was in a lot of pain and malnourished, they just chalked it up to me being pregnant. They sent me home and not only did I get worse, I became depressed to the point that I was suicidal. After my bf stopped me from trying to hurt myself, we decided to go to Planned Parenthood to have it terminated. I started getting better after my abortion, fully recovering after 2 months. If I didn't have that abortion access, I most likely wouldn't be alive today.

Women who have struggled with infertility are suddenly falling pregnant after taking Ozempic. I feel like this drug has accidentally opened the door to being one of the most ground breaking drugs we've had in recent history. The fact that one drug can do and be so many things to so many people at once is just mind blowing. As someone who lives in the UK and struggles with my weight, i secretly can't wait until my doctor can prescribe this on the NHS because nothing else I've tried has worked. So hearing that there is a pill form being made, makes me stressed as a tech who, on the daily, has to tell people we can’t get the medication and that no store within 20-miles have it. Later, IT sent out a retraining on cybersecurity talking about this incident but my coworkers kept laughing and joking with the coworker who did it that the training was all about him. He still works there but it shows even when you know the risks of cyber attacks, stupidity always happens when you hire incompetent employees and never punish them for wrongdoing. I think it‘s going into a philosopical debate about morality and ethics. Is something bad (like stealing) if your intentions were good (feeding your family) - is something good (donating money) if it is self-serving (tax write-off / image)
I used to work for a charity organisation that used about 50% of their donations for operation costs and that question always came up „Is it even charity if you use half of the funds to sustain yourself?
And I mean, it‘s a fair question ask: Are 50k operation costs fair for 50k in „helping money“? Maybe, maybe not. But you are still helping people. So what?
And I think therein lies the problem: people see „nice“ only as „real“ if it grows from being completly self-less. Which is fair, to some degree, but also self-destructive to another. So maybe we need to re-evaluate our definition of nice and maybe use words like „generous“ and „helpful“ - maybe this way people don‘t get triggered by using the word „nice“

I would break out in hives if I got too hot or too cold (going on for 15 years and on allergy meds, which didn't help much) but within a week or two of starting Ozempic, all those allergies went away and I can actually go out now and live a normal life without fear of going into anaphylaxis if i got too much heat or cold for my body to handle.

That is sooo interesting! Makes me think like.. could ozempic for example somehow stimulate the release of diamine oxidase in the intestines: it’s an enzyme that breaks down histamine, and histamine is involved in the development of urticaria. Ofc it could just be something more simple like the difference in your body composition making it easier for your body to regulate temp or the changes in your diet or who knows could just be due to coincidence, but nonetheless super interesting and such a great thing for you!

What really bugs me with current conversation around Semaglutide is it is entirely focused on weight loss, and the medical industry is partially to blame for that,
Semaglutide was for combating insulin resistance, and deficiency, which yes is found in T2 Diabetes Mellitus, and Obesity, but occurs in a number of non-diabetic conditions such as Poly cystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), Hypothyroidism, Metabolic Syndrome, etc. however there is barely any research being conducted into these areas because all of the focus is on weight loss, and without studies they can’t be recognised as official treatments for these other conditions.
The reason this annoys me so much is that 6months ago I was prescribed Semaglutide to try and treat/maintain PCOS a condition I’ve had for over 20 years, (10 years spent fighting to get my symptoms taken seriously and 10 years trying to find treatment that didn’t exacerbate the condition (yay AFAB reproductive health), and I’m not trying to be hyperbolic when I say Semaglutide has honestly changed my life. No more never ending/daily bouts of Hypoglycaemia, the chronic pain has became more bearable, but what was more interesting was that what seemed like over night my cognitive, and executive function had improved to such a degree it was almost unrecognisable. Curious about this I spoke to my Drs, and polled a large forum individuals undergoing similar treatment, and it would seem these improvements are hardly unique, however when I tried to find out any additional information relating to broader improvements outside of insulin regulation and weight loss, I hit a brick wall.
Now I understand that securing funding for studies can be a difficult process, and as this is still a fairly new medication it’s not entirely surprising there isn’t a tonne of information relating to non-diabetic conditions, however what I wasn’t fully prepared for was discovering the vast majority of the studies actually being funded were entirely focused on Semaglutide and weight loss,
It’s hard to blame people for only seeing Semaglutide as a weight loss drug, when the medical industry itself seems to only be perpetuating this narrative!

As somebody that's tried to listen to multiple communities to gauge sentiments and have a better clearer picture of social issues.... Things are gonna need to get worse before they get better. The left started pushing men out of their party and those men didn't feel heard. They ran into the arms of the nearest movement that was positive to them like dumb fk's. Different parts are fragmenting and coming back around, I honestly don't think the vast majority even are against abortion rights. It's not even on their radar tbf. Like with almost all humans people don't care until it's something that effects them or people they care about. A lot of women rightfully don't wanna be with guys who are immature or don't have their shit figured out so a lot of those guys don't have partners so it's not on their radar. Thankfully it seems more like a neutral topic that many seem to express support for (when pressed) or could be swayed because they're unaware. A lot of people voting for trump rn don't actually support more than 1 or 2 things and would drop him hard if a remotely better option showed up.
A lot of them can still be saved, they just got to see the fallout from their decisions and wake up to see how utterly stupid they are for not seeing the bigger picture.
Based on what I've seen in the past and present I think if Trump becomes president there will more than likely be a "Oh crap, I fk'd up" moment for a bunch of dudes about half way through the presidency and by the end we should see some major shifts back.
I'm hopeful the adage "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity" will hold true.
I understand as a woman that's probably not what you wanna hear, but I hope it gives a small glimmer of hope.
Both men and women in the US feel like they're not being listened too about issues they each feel are pressing issues.
Cooler heads/minds are prevailing in the places that matter, slowly yet gaining speed.

A year ago, I went without it for over a month because none of the pharmacies in my area could get it in stock. Once I was finally able to get it refilled, my prescription insurance initially denied it because my doctor had to recertify me as a diabetic. My costs went from $70 for 90 days to $120 for 30 days. By the end of the year, I had to temporarily reduce my dosage so that I would have enough until my benefits restarted in the 2024. I fear that these new uses will again place my life at risk as the medicines either go through shortages or price increases.

With the XZ Utils story, the code that actually had the exploit wasn't even in the open source repository. Being a maintainer, Tan was able to add a "tar ball" with highly obfuscated code to essentially load in the exploit when the project was built for specific releases. This goes above and beyond just reading thru and vetting code.

Hitting an aid convoy because they didn't get a report of them in the area, saw guns, and went green is unfortunately not an uncommon circumstance in war. In my opinion, it was a horrible misjudgment that cost lives, and I hope whoever made that call gets some justice served to them.
