Kind of. Horrible photo quality/resolution, obviously, but she's a great photographer and knows how to use light to her advantage.
That were some great pictures. But I would like a pro photographer, entry level camera, beginner model show.
For a Portrait Photographer you give them something like a 50d with 50mm stm and a yn560 flash.
I believe that is some Equipment which most of the people can use/afford and learn #1 learn the basics and #2 also get some hints about which settings to use when. So a little 1x1 for beginner portrait photographer.
When or where does it show the images?

This guy could be the next face of DigitalRev...i really like his presentation. Great balance of humor,wit and proffesionalism. I was impressed ever since his first appearance. Keep Tianran He and the other guy called Ian(the guy that did the last AnalogRev,he has that peaceful and calm tentative personality). These two really has that next generation Digitalrev potential. Tianran could be that charismatic humorous presenter while Ian can be his opposite with his calm and wholesome demeanour...balancing each other out.

I like this presenter. He's not trying to force Benning funny like the other people in the past (since the original crew left). This presenter is genuine, and that's why the comments have been so positive.
Hopefully Digital Rev keeps this up, very entertaining and informative video.
What happened to all the other videos in the series? Wanted to show this to a friend and was struggling to find any of them, and now I can't find them anymore.
What's the reason behind privating almost the whole backlog? Feels like losing a big chunk of photography history...

This is an excellent example of experience and talent, doesn't matter what you have, its how you use it. Everyone always ask me "whats the best camera should I get?" I respond with whatever brand your friends have so you can borrow their lens and learn.
She literally said "actually equipment matters" so, I think this is "an excellent example of experience and talent" but not really an example of "does not matter what you have", I mean, she used the "cheap camera" but a lot of other gear, aside the professional models and makeup artist. This video was more about "how to direct your models" than actual photography.
@@ofobrioz not really.. she is a fashion photographer.. so this video is fashion oriented.. if it was a sports photographer, it would have been different.. what Andrew wants to tell here is how photography is much more than just equipments.. a good camera can only give you better dynamic range, RAW data etc.. it won't direct the models, frame the photograph or find good light for you.. that is what a beginner should learn first..

For those that are also curious, the lens on Ruby’s A7rII appears to be a Voigtländer Nokton of some kind. Maybe a 50 f1.1 or 58 f1.4, guessing by the barrel markings.
She uses Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.5

To be honest, when kai left this channel, I kind of leaving this too..
Now for the first time in (I can't remember) I look back to DRTV, and its nice. Altough I miss the moment when kai messing around with anything. But yeah you got new style here, keep it up guys.. thumbs up.
Also if you can add more joke or something funny it'll be great show. Because I know, keeping viewer for 20 more minutes is really really hard..

You can tell so much work is going into DRTV’s latest videos. We really appreciate it, the content is back to its best. Or dare I say it, a little bit better than it used to be (sorry Kai and Lok).

Man these beautiful densely populated areas in Asia.. it's like no matter where you turn, there is a new great spot with a great background for an awesome photo.. it's so unfair!
A beat up camera is a sure sign that its been extensively used by a proper photographer as it was designed to be.

This is the first good vid on this channel since Kai & Lok left. And by good, it’s REALLY good. But as the presenter stated, this is an expensive vid. So not sure of we will continue to see this level of quality but shoutout to all the effort that went into this. The female photographer should be paid to be a regular on the show too. She knows what she is doing as a “one woman army” keep her!!
what about the episode with Feng Yu. imo it was mindblowing. and this is series when they invite one pro tog to make an episode about his/her skill. they don't keep them.
it's really cool to see the difference in type of photos someone can create if they have both the eye to see the image they want and the skill to realize that scene. see, I just happen to have a camera (definitely better than that yellow plastic thing!) but I can't take anywhere near the quality of these photos. mad props to Ruby and all the models (and the presenter!) for all the hard work.

Gear doesn"t matter. But having the right gear does help.

This is the first time I have watched DigitalRev in a long time, and I have to say that I am very optimistic about the channel again. I like this presenter. Keep up the good content. I am, once again, excited about new videos from you guys.
This shows you that the camera is the 3rd most important part of photography after lighting and imagination
I like the new long format of this video, it's fun but also very informative. The previous cheap camera challenges were, for the most part, just silly shenanigans and a neat end result. This video, on the other hand, takes us behind the scenes and really shows us how Ruby works with the models and what her planning and thought process is.
In contrast, I'd love to see a "Amateur Photographer, Expensive Camera" challenge. Give some random non-photographer a GFX50R and a demanding model, see what happens. I think the results might be better than expected.
maybe you missed something, but I watched ALL of DRTV videos, and all of them, especially this series were quite informative. Also there were a couple of Amateur tog, pro camera and few variations.
what happened to the rest of the videos? why were they removed.

Having a beautiful model to shoot, it's like drinking luxury wine from Château Lafite-Rothschild using a cheap glass, though the glass does not feel as good in hand, the wine itself is undoubtedly good. We should do a pro photographer, cheap everything else challange. LOL.
Great video, and great photos that show it is all about talent, vision and understanding light. Good photos are not about the camera. Also, that does look exactly like Bolognese sauce.
