You know, looking back at this, I don't get how Shang Tsung's fucking tournament is supposed to work. It doesn't work on brackets or elimination rules, it just looks like Shang Tsung is fucking with everyone and just sets up fights whenever and however he pleases.

That way Shang Tsung would set fights without having to worry about two warriors from the same realm eliminating one another. Noob Saibot's first appearance was as a secret character in MK2, where he was just a color swap of Scorpion. He got some backstory in MK3 and was even a playable character, but even then, his moveset was just borrowed from the other ninja characters. So he wasn't exactly unique for a while there.
They gave him a Japanese name though. They chose it because it was the Japanese kanji for thunder and lightning. So yes, they chose to use Japanese and misused it.

No, Daniel Pesina (the actor who played Cage in MK1 and MK2) got posing in his Cage costume for a Bloodstorm commercial. Midway found out and fired him, and another actor couldn't be found in time for MK3, so they cut Cage from the game completely.
I love all the stories of MK because although some stories are completely idiotic, they all turn into EACH OTHER to make a tapestry if crazy dumb shit ever! XD

it has a good story, awesome characters, fatalitys and the name. and + I played mortal kombat since I was 4. I grew up with MK.
I think he means that the levels resonate the same artistic style that you'd find on "metal" album covers. Which is awesome.
