If Mario Party does return, I desperately hope Toad is a playable character this time, rather than being a host. I also hope only Bowser is the playable villain character. Also, the hosts should be previous ones from past Mario Party games, like Klevar from 5 & MC BallyHoo from 8.

Also that would make sense to have returning hosts instead of the same formula using Toad as one.

500+ playable minigames on 10 boards!
The Power Star should move around the board randomly, but never ever end up in the same spot. It can move 1 space over or it can move to the other side of the board! It should be able to move onto any space! Not just a select few! It should be fully random!
Also, I want each character to have stats! Strength, Speed, Jump, Luck, Balance, and Handling (For racing mini games).

The orb mechanic really should make a return! One thing i like about Superstars is there's multiple options before you start a game. So maybe you could get an option to put orbs on/off.
I hope there isnt a weird gameplay twist to it, i just want a normal Mario party with new/updated mini games.

I'm still upset that we saw no DLC for superstars. The eshop page implied we would see some but we never got it. I hope that we will see the series at least recapture the mechanics seen in MP6, perhaps MP3 at the most. The blend I would like to go for would be if we were to have orbs, the orb system in 6 and 7 was the peak. If the classic items seen in 2 and 3 come back instead, then fine (though I admit some would have to be repurposed to fit a modern game, the Boo Repellant being replaced by a Gaddlight makes sense from a lore perspective for example). I want to see the Super Duel Mode from MP5 come back, that was a lot of fun and that has a lot of online potential. As for characters, only actual characters and not enemies or characters that are typically seen as NPCs in mainline titles. Toad would be an exception however. I say this because at this point we have more characters with actual identity in the mainline series than at any point prior so they could easilly free up character slots by taking out Boo, Hammer Bro, Blooper ect to replace with Pauline, Diddy, Dixie and others. And while new boards are a must, I wouldnt object to unlockable classic board maps in the modern style.
I could see them getting around having identical playable characters to the NPC's, by giving the playable a different color scheme or outfit. Like Bowser JR could be playable and they could make the NPC version into Koopa Kid. Or for Shy Guy they could make Groove Guy or General Guy playable. For the toads, both Toad and Toadette could easily be playable. There's many other toads they could use for the NPC roles. As for Boo the NPC Boo's into the Peepa versions and King Boo. While having regular Boo playable. There's also several Koopa variations they could pick from, to make it a playable character. Like General Koopa from the Mario Movie. There's a lot they could do to get around them looking the same, as the NPC's.
Fully agree on orbs coming back, that really felt missing! They could make it optional if they wanted.
I just don’t understand why when they made Mario party superstar that they didn’t do small DLC packs that added other old courses back and maybe like 10 mini games per pack like I know a lot of people hate the idea of DLC and games because it’s always super overpriced lately, but if they did it well with Mario party, I would pay like 5 to 10 to maybe $15 for a DLC pack every few months if it came with like a couple of boards and you know 10 to 20 mini games with anyone how much they priced it at like I think a lot of people would pay for that to get additional Courses and mini games like I think it would be a great idea. I keep waiting for them to make something like Mario party universe and that’s what they do where they keep adding on courses over the span of a few years and make it like a giant Mario party game.

NDCube also developed Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. So maybe we're getting a new smaller Animal Crossing game. Maybe Amiibo Festival Switch edition. Banquet as codename seems to fit that game more then a Mario Party game.
I just wanna see a Mario Party game sell over 40 million!! I love Mario party, just wish we get more characters to choose from.

What I'd love is for Rhythm Recital to come back... one of the most wholesome minigames in Mario Party history. Only, maybe add on the guitar, both acoustic and electric for characters to play! 👍😊💖🎸🎻🎹🎶🎵🎼🎤
I will definitely buy it but I am not sure what kind of game it will be. Will it be a remake kinda of game with Mario superstars or something new with new gimmicks like super Mario party or something completely or something new but follows the traditional old Mario party style of games. That last one seems unlikely sadly but at least I don’t think they are going back to the car system of Mario party 9 and 10 which is good to me. 😂. I guess this will either be a new super Mario party or a remakish of old Mario parties like a remake of some of the GameCube ones. That would be great. Just include more boards and don’t stop at 5 or 6 🤦♀️. Do like 9 or 10 in that case.

I really hope they don't make another Super Mario Party game. Best case scenario they give it the Mario Party 8 treatment. Where we get a Mario Party Superstars Deluxe with more of everything. Then they give DLC packs over the years, with new characters, boards, mechanics/options and minigames.
What if we had gotten mario party dlc instead of a new game?
Or like if they do add other Nintendo IP characters, make them DLC too with their own map. A Splatoon map in Mario Party would awesome!!!

I disagree with this full blown advoacy for DLC id much for rather have a couple different installments ot gemes with different features than have every game like sins4 where the fanbase is constantly nickle and dimed for years with new packs.
As a big fan of animal crossing i enjoyed the happy homes DLC but i would NOT want extra villagers/furniture trickled in and locked behind a paywall.

I’m tired of Mario party the last 2-3 games went backwards instead of moving forward. Stuck on remastering everything including mini-games and boards instead of doing this make it new. We need a new new Mario party 😭😭😭
Not excited for this at all. There will probably be no game for me to be excited for this year.
Instead of a Mario Party with guests characters, why not a Nintendo Party, where yes there would indeed be characters from Zelda, Splatoon, Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, Pikmin, etc. why not, but also maps and mini-games? That'd be a good way to renew the formula imo. It doesn't mean ther couldn't be any mario focused partygame in the future. But it'd already be the third mario party for the same console, so you have to bring something new on the table, and you also have to release a mario party at some point on the first half of the Switch 2's life. and if it's backwards compatible with Switch 1 games, you definitely need that little something that'll bring more players. So maybe they'll release a mario party game with guests now, and the next one would be a full crossover for switch 2, that may make mor sense, I'm not sure, but "Banquet" to me means eating A LOT, and a lot of EVERYTHING, so that'd make sense. That's also why some people (me included) though of smash when hearing about that
Honestly, there are so many genres that could fit a Nintendo Crossover game. Card Game, RTS, RPG, Gacha Game, Tactical, Arena Fighter, ...
