Grid Modeler is an addon for Blender using the Boolean Workflow. It gives you the ability to draw shapes or create meshes on top of each other using a grid in your viewport hence the grid modeler part. Overall its workflow is very efficient and fast.

I have had this add on for a while now and it is awesome, I highly recommend it to anyone who is working on large scale projects as it speeds things up exponentially.
I took a chance and decided after 20 years if failing in Blender to give it a hard try and got the creative shrimp Hard Surface course then as usual whenever I get a manual for blender they Chang the editor rendering the learning material half useful or obsolete.. So as I sulked that the 2.80 came out and I had 2.78 I left it alone then now in 2021 I decided to give it another try HARD CORE!!!
So I bought almost every adding and combo pack from the Blender Market place for $540 US and went to Gumroad and found a letter in my inbox from 2019 where they finally finished upgrading the Hard Surface class I purchased earlier and the fixes were available to me for free because I was a paid customer. Now I am reignited with my original passion for Blender and having saw this video I immediately put it in the shopping cart to build my studio. The demo is cool and all but yeah for the price and knowledge definitely go for the paid one!!

So many hard surface add ons out there that have a one or a few few features that hardops and boxcutter have. Hops and boxcutter really are the ultimate hard surface package.

Can you also size the grid using exact measurements rather than 'scrolling the middle mouse button'? Thanks
It's a wonderful add on, especially for creating paneling detail. The one restriction, (that I've noticed), is that it works only on flat surfaces. If you have a model with curved / compound curves... it becomes problematic.
Have it, haven't had time to try it. Thanks for the effort in showing how it works. Great addon for people like me that love snap grids. A must at its price range. This is for those that think Fluent and Hardops/BC (I have all of them) is too hard to use but it is not as useful. They have many other features you will eventually want but this addon should be the "GoTo" for specific operations as shown here.
had hard ops for about a year and neveer truly touched it loool, its a bit too daunting nd not that beginner friendly, plus everytime you check on youtube for a tutorial they've adeed a new update, which is a good thing, but its very overwhelming for a newbie like me. grid modeler on the hand, is sooo intuitive cause its structured around just drawing shapes which is soo much easier to grasp.

Have been eyeing fluent for some time, but still not sure about some overlap in functions regarding HOps/BC. Do you think they pair well?
@@afrosymphony8207 Yeah. The constant updates on Hard Ops is both a blessing and a curse. I still know only about 25% of it and I use it daily. But gotta admit I just use (for work) what I got practice on and need more messing around sessions 😁
i was about to say "isn't there way to many ways to do this in blender already, but then i saw snap to plane mode oh man that awesome
Indeed, reminiscent of the Workplane in Modo, but for booleans.
I admit, I'm not overly experienced in blender yet. After installing the modler, it took me forever to figure out how to turn it on. I reviewed the website, the faq, google. Finally, after watching this video for the nth time on 75% and 50% playback speed, I realized you simply right click to get the menu to turn it on. Would this maybe be something to put in the faq on the blender market page & the tips section of your website? I realize most people probably figure this out, but for those of us that are slow, it was pretty frustrating.
Anyway, it's a great tool once I was able to turn it on 🙃
the main problem, and the most important, it is destructive so you can't handle with hour cuts booleans and so on
how is that destructive ? non destructive booleans is a thing in every software
This works in the edit mode and don’t use Boolean modifier like you see in the video, that’s a destructive workflow

Yes and No, depends how far you want to take that kind of modeling.
Nah, 2 very different feeling addons in my opinion
@@DimiArt You can boolean on grids for both add ones in all three forms, circle, box and ngon. But box cutter takes it farther yet its harder to use.
