    Do you guys think they went too far with the whole Black Zetsu stuff? Like do you think it's a bit much that he essentially planned every action taken by every character in history? Or do you really like what kaguya brings to the story?
    Edit: I have no idea whats wrong with the video. I wish i caught it earlier. I think something went wrong while exporting. I'll keep a better eye on that for the future.

    The way I see it, Black Zetsu takes too much credit for himself. Naruto ends up saying it himself at the end. Zetsu might have influenced one or two of Madara’s decisions but that’s about it. As far as I’m concerned everyone’s actions are their own and Zetsu just wants to claim that all of shinobi history belongs to him and Kaguya because it started with her. So it doesn’t really ruin anything for me.

    I mean, if we're talking about kaguya's "husband," you can't really say that he was a complete idiot without taking into account the era they were in. It was obviously an ancient era of warring states, with the Land of That being much more powerful and capable of laying waste to the Land of Ancestors. A strategy of appeasement was actually very common in situations like these in those time periods in real history. I don't think it comes off as a light decision for him to hunt Kaguya either, he seems more distressed by the burden of the choice he has to make now, since his decree must be upheld as absolute for the sake of his land's survival rather than the fact that she may have done something wrong or disobeyed him. If you read the history of either Japan or mainland China and it's surroundings, these scenarios were quite common and were very often rational decisions rather than emotional. Now, could he have been more proactive and tried to prevent this or indeed attempt to mobilize *something* before their enemies inevitably decide to attack after he can't stall anymore? Absolutely.

      No one is talking about that, no one has a problem with the amount of time black zetsu had to plan shit. It wasn’t that black zetsu pulled shit out of his ass, it was that the author did because this section of the story was so poorly written especially in comparison to everything before it. People have a problem with the fact that black zetsu was essentially behind everything that happened in naruto despite no hint whatsoever that this would be the case. What made it even worse was that they not only made some shit up last minute but it also completely threw out major pieces of information we thought we knew all for a less satisfying conclusion with many more plot holes.

    Black Zetsu planned everything, all according to Ramen Guy's plan.
    anyway here's my solution to the Kaguya stuff that can also be a great set up for Boruto:
    * -Kaguya is an Alien- Kaguya is a literal deity that ruled all the land on the map we've seen in the present with the different lands.
    * -Kaguya was a dictator out of love- Kaguya was sapping life from the weaker lands outside her rule using the divine tree so that her own land would prosper
    * -Chakra was shared with people after Kaguya was sealed- Chakra was shared before she was sealed, Chakra is a gift or a "Blessing" from a Deity specifically Kaguya, that blessing's signature is different elements which are the chakra natures (it doesn't matter whether Hagoromo shares it, being a blood relative of hers, or Kaguya herself as a ruling god type of thing to do)
    * -no land outside the shinobi world is really acknowledged- now that Gods are on the table after Kaguya is revived, it's revealed that other lands have other gods ruling them (genshin style, I swear I came up with this before I got into genshin) those gods have different blessings much different and sometimes similar to Kaguya's blessing
    * the final point: Jashin is real, but he's a different kind of deity who only takes a small cult rather than a whole land, Hidan recieved his blessing of immortality. this can explain the weird monk stuff back around Asuma's whole thing, this would make for a perfect set up for Boruto, expanding the world of Naruto, the Naruto story isn't fully closed off like it actually is and it gives freedom for Boruto to explore different power systems without being too bound to the one established in the Naruto story.
    what do you think? would this be better or worse?

    I think you guys are misunderstanding and giving too much hate. Also giving zetsu a bit too much credit. The “all mighty plan that went perfectly” was actually just a basic plan that took a long time to eventually kinda work. Zetsu rolled with the punches.
    The ten tails getting split wasn’t ideal, zetsu realized that he would just have to gather them all and seal them all to revive ten tails. That couldn’t happened until he found suitable reincarnations who could awaken the rinnegan so that they could summon the statue so that they could revive ten tails. Zetsu watched and observed everything. Saw how Madara grew up, and knew how to manipulate him and how to adjust the stone tablet to get Madara to do what he wanted. Madara had no direct contact with zetsu until after he awakened the rinnegan. And from there it was a matter of finding the right time to reveal himself and it just happened to be with the zetsu’s and faking. Being alive for so long, he knew how to manipulate and pull the strings successfully.
    Now that all being said, I think things were definitely retconned and this was 100% not the original plan but they made it work. They definitely could have done a better job weaving it in seamlessly, but it is what it is. It’s definitely not perfect by any means, but I think you guys are a bit too hard on it.

    I think Kaguya should´ve had more screen time earlier to introduce the entire idea of her long before, it would´ve made everyone accept the idea of her when she entered the arena :)
    But what I like the most of the entire Naruto story from the beginning to the end is the idea that it always puts u into the false sense of thinking that u know what is going and then takes it all away.. even Kaguya saying something about her getting ready for when "the others" arrive and it being a necessity to do all of the evil things she did is a frightening thing
    Like what evil could anyone do for what they think must be done for the greater good, and how did they come to that conclusion? What do they know that we don´t know? Or are they just entirely mistaken about it all and doing unecessary evil because they are delusional?
    To me it feels like it is about the old question: Does the end justify the means? Both Madara and Kaguya in a way seemed to share that belief

  • @Hydranzia
    @Hydranzia Před 2 lety +4

    I think what makes the Kaguya arc disposable is that it required no agency from the central characters to ensue. I am well aware that it required more foreshadowing than an exposition dump by Madara.
    Here is my fix:
    The fight with Madara goes on after the Tsukuyomi, with him gaining an overwhelming advantage over Naruto and Sasuke. They still can't defeat him with the SOSP powers. Kurama suggests Naruto that there is a way to win over him, but at the cost of opening the seal of Kaguya (I can think of a power handicap here. Not that difficult!)
    That would have created immediate drama. Not only does it give the duo a legible chance of defeating Madara, but now, Naruto is aware that they are releasing a far greater evil in the process, and he will have to bear its burden. But that would be their best shot at defeating Madara, rather than a cheap backstabbing. Also, it would make it necessary plot-wise for Kaguya to arrive, because without her, there was no way to take Madara out of the equation.
    And yes, fuck Black Zetsu! That shit was annoying as hell.

    • @bernardmartins1093
      @bernardmartins1093 Před 2 lety

      It was a good call of kurama sugesting a solution. The thing is kaguya is more dangerous that madara. Also you have to fix lots of plot points there. You cant win against kaguya you have to seal her. With the sosp powers

    • @Hydranzia
      @Hydranzia Před 2 lety

      @@bernardmartins1093 There are a couple of plot holes, I admit which will need to be addressed. For example, how exactly was Kurama aware of Kaguya? Did SOSP tell him? Because it predates its birth.
      I believe that it's a decision that would also test Naruto's resolve. For someone who claims to save everyone, he is pretty much dooming the world. But his back needs to be pushed to the wall. He will have to encounter a situation where he would have no choice but to unlock the seal.
      This is why Tenchi Bridge Arc and Pain Invasion work in contrast with each other. One where he lost control, the other where he assumed it. Here, you could have another variation of it.
      Does saving the world come first or his friends? Let him choose under pressure.

    I don't think black zetsu plans undercut any character's struggles necessarily but it for sure undercut the viewers experience of the whole story/lore and it's character, I am personally fine with what black zetsu did albeit was too much, it just felt long and drawn out that's what (IMO) made it feel unnecessary, they should gave put that in a few minutes of exposition from black zetsu and moved on with the story then it probably might not have felt too unnecessary and drawn out. Or if that wasn't answer maybe they could have just let black zetsu spark the long war between the Uchiha and Senju, and change the stone tablet, that alone would have been enough. He just did too much and it was done in a way that it felt drawn out.

    Kaguya is based on the Moon Rabbit folklore from Chinese and Japanese mythology. It is essential to the plot as it explains about the origins of chakra in a normal world. Also, just FYI they hinted about it during the pain arc. For those who don't remember, Konan asks Nagato/ Pain when he performs the Chibaku Tensei/ Planetary devastation jutsu on Naruto. That time he says "We're dealing with the nine tails here. This is nothing compared to what the sage of the 6 paths did. He is said to have created the moon".
    In this flashback that you guys saw, they show you exactly what it is. They sealed Kaguya and sent her to the moon. Hamura guards the moon and creates his ninja creed on the moon while Hagoromo creates his ninja creed on earth.

While the implementation in the story is kinda eh I don't really have a problem with Kaguya at least with the anime backstory since in the manga she basically is just a obsticel.

    @BOLDcast Black zetsu was foreshadowed a year before kaguya's debut in the manga (I think it was ch. 626). And Black zetsu "orchestrating" everything really isn't all that, he basically just spread the idea of infinite tsukuyomi, and let kabuto find madara's corpse. It DOESN'T UNDERCUT ANYTHING imo. If you want a truly lackluster "it was all planned" thing look at Bleach's Aizen, but even then it's done decently.

    There were so many parts I was confused with since there was no consistency, especially with the kaguya backstory filler. Like why did the person Hagoromo was in love with die if the other people were alive when released from the infinite tsukuyomi, why are the tailed beasts created already, when it was said that hagoromo was the juubi jinchuriki and created them near his death, there were even flashbacks of them being small right before he died. Was kaguya a separate being from the juubi? Because when they sealed her the ten tails body withered away. How did Hamura start the Hyuuga when he literally went to the moon right after the fight, or even the weaker branch of otsutsuki if he went by himself? Also, Idk how many times zetsu mentioned that he messed with the stone tablet, but why is sasuke being all shocked when zetsu had mentioned it to madara before reviving kaguya? And the whole filler arc for the sons was confusing too because they made the lazy last-minute change to Indra's mangekyou pattern, I remember it being a swirl pattern, but whatever I guess.
