Dave is an organic chemist who spent a ton of time reading scientific literature on evolution, origin of life and related topics, in part to be able to debunk creationist arguments. He is knowledgable and it shows. If you truly had the upper hand in all of this, you would answer to what he said in his debunk rather than just calling him a charlatan for no other reason that his channel being called Professor Dave. I just think you should move on from this situation and not go further, because any debate you have with him will be completely one-sided. I disagree with you Brodie, debates aren’t a competition to see who can prove the other wrong, it’s supposed to be a means to find the truth. Honestly I just want to watch a debate by two knowledgeable enough people on their different opinions and come up with my own conclusion. If they didn’t like each other and wanted to see who is smarter in order to humiliate the other person they should find another alternative. That's because Dave does not consider the process of evolution as an opinion but as a process that exists, happens all the time in biology and has been evidenced thousand of times. And Dave has gone on record saying that he knows he's provocative, but he purposfully doesn't address science deniers with the same regard as anyone more honest in their approach to knowledge.

They are 3 distinct topics and only someone who is knowledgeable in the field would know how to articulate among the three without conflating them. Firstly, apart from the original offers Subboor failed to include for the debates, and if he is serious to actually debate, I don't understand why Subboor would say "setting up these debates takes a lot of time". First off, if that's the case, why not email Professor Dave immediately and ask him what are his confitions for the debate? This is basic contract agreement 101. By not doing this and just setting up debates according to what you prefer, despite the initial offers, is unreasonable and it still doesn't mean Professor Dave agreed to it. Now you have to take even more time to "set up" and prepare. Secondly, to the people saying because Dave said he'll "destroy" Subboor therefore that means Dave is agreeing to any parameters Subboor creates is a logical fallacy and absurd. If I say ima destroy someone in a sport, it's in respect to the already existent conditions that are standard. If my opponent then starts adding conditions such as the number of games to be played, how scoring is gonna work, etc... and I don't agree with some of the conditions, that doesn't logically mean I reject all of it and it doesn't mean that my initial claim is false. What subboor should've done is first asked what Dave's conditions are so that it resolves and speeds up the process of confirming an actual agreement and initiating it. It's like saying you can eat a whole pizza and a pizza shop owner says you should check out their pizza spot and they offer you an exclusive deal if you agree to visit. You decide to visit and go inside to ask about it but the owner walks away for 30 minutes and comes back to offer you a completely different deal contrary to what was originally offered, including where and when you are to eat this pizza. You then ask again for that initial deal but they have already prepared multiple orders you didn't order and you must accept it now in order to receive it. But you decline and ask for specific things added or removed and the owner responds by saying, "Well, why did you say you can eat a whole pizza and walk in here if you weren't going to order it then?" Again you can't make initial offers and then get annoyed when someone doesn't agree to it. Do not sit here now and say "agree to this offer now and we can change it later" you've already showed you changed what you originally offered, so what makes anyone believe that you'll hold true to even this new offer? Next if your claim is you won't do the 1 debate because you're worried he'll gish gallop throughout it, why even book 3 debates? Can't he do the same thing for all 3? Additionally, you now say you want 3 debates and you keep attaching the characteristic of "flexible" to yourself but you won't even consider the conditions he has asked for which is what you offered initially? You can't say you're flexible to a condition that was never agreed upon nor originally offered. Lastly, I don't agree with Dave on certain beliefs but when it comes to communication, agreeing to conditions, flexibility, and setting up a debate, Subbor has poorly managed and exhibited this based on the evidence that was provided.

I don't think 3 debates are needed. 1st and 2nd debate can be combined into an overall debate on evolutionary biology. 3rd debate is gonna be extra, as the debate on whether Intelligent Design is true or not will feel repetitive as the same arguments and counter-arguments will be shared over and over again. Dave is an organic chemist who spent a ton of time reading scientific literature on evolution, origin of life and related topics, in part to be able to debunk creationist arguments. He is knowledgable and it shows. If you truly had the upper hand in all of this, you would answer to what he said in his debunk rather than just calling him a charlatan for no other reason that his channel being called Professor Dave.

Firstly, apart from the original offers Subboor failed to include for the debates, and if he is serious to actually debate, I don't understand why Subboor would say "setting up these debates takes a lot of time". First off, if that's the case, why not email Professor Dave immediately and ask him what are his confitions for the debate?
This is basic contract agreement 101. By not doing this and just setting up debates according to what you prefer, despite the initial offers, is unreasonable and it still doesn't mean Professor Dave agreed to it. Now you have to take even more time to "set up" and prepare.
Secondly, to the people saying because Dave said he'll "destroy" Subboor therefore that means Dave is agreeing to any parameters Subboor creates is a logical fallacy and absurd. If I say ima destroy someone in a sport, it's in respect to the already existent conditions that are standard. If my opponent then starts adding conditions such as the number of games to be played, how scoring is gonna work, etc... and I don't agree with some of the conditions, that doesn't logically mean I reject all of it and it doesn't mean that my initial claim is false. What subboor should've done is first asked what Dave's conditions are so that it resolves and speeds up the process of confirming an actual agreement and initiating it.
It's like saying you can eat a whole pizza and a pizza shop owner says you should check out their pizza spot and they offer you an exclusive deal if you agree to visit. You decide to visit and go inside to ask about it but the owner walks away for 30 minutes and comes back to offer you a completely different deal contrary to what was originally offered, including where and when you are to eat this pizza. You then ask again for that initial deal but they have already prepared multiple orders you didn't order and you must accept it now in order to receive it. But you decline and ask for specific things added or removed and the owner responds by saying, "Well, why did you say you can eat a whole pizza and walk in here if you weren't going to order it then?"
Again you can't make initial offers and then get annoyed when someone doesn't agree to it. Do not sit here now and say "agree to this offer now and we can change it later" you've already showed you changed what you originally offered, so what makes anyone believe that you'll hold true to even this new offer?
Next if your claim is you won't do the 1 debate because you're worried he'll gish gallop throughout it, why even book 3 debates? Can't he do the same thing for all 3?
Additionally, you now say you want 3 debates and you keep attaching the characteristic of "flexible" to yourself but you won't even consider the conditions he has asked for which is what you offered initially? You can't say you're flexible to a condition that was never agreed upon nor originally offered.
Lastly, I don't agree with Dave on certain beliefs but when it comes to communication, agreeing to conditions, flexibility, and setting up a debate, Subbor has poorly managed and exhibited this based on the evidence that was provided.

I don't think 3 debates are needed. 1st and 2nd debate can be combined into an overall debate on evolutionary biology. 3rd debate is gonna be extra, as the debate on whether Intelligent Design is true or not will feel repetitive as the same arguments and counter-arguments will be shared over and over again. Intelligent Design doesn't have any predictive power or falsifiability so inevitably, Subboor will have to attack evolution and Dave will have to defend his viewpoint, but then what's the point, you already did this in the previous debate/s. At Max there should be 2 debates, as they will inevitably start discussing the same stuff over and over again.

He should have been dealing with these things in private through emails. There was no need to bring this out into the public, it's unnecessary drama. Changes in the venue and the number of debates are extremely minor. Dave would have had a point if his expenses weren't being paid for, then i would be on his side. So these things just sound like excuses to be honest.

He did have a Discussion with biologist.Prof3ssor Jeremy.Pritchard which I have watched The Discussion was on can you believe in Evolution and God. Both of them concluded you can.

You will make your case and he will simply say that's a lie and that's the end of it.. if there is no live fact check then it makes little sense to have 3 debates. If you ve watched any of his other debates you will see that all he does is simply insult his opponents and makes claims and provides very little evidence or substance. I think the old adage be careful what you wish for applies here. You don't want to deal with that manchild for that long..it will be exhausting and it will drag the debate onto a gutter right off the bat. So anything after the first half hour it's just going to be noise from him.. all just my humble opinion

1 from Subboor to Dave telling him the dates of the debate (without consulting Dave at all before hand)
2 from Dave asking why the location was changed and why they need 3 separate debates
And that is it. Subboor have yet to answer Dave’s email as of today after 10 days.
