- We're getting a little weird this week! UFO's are all the rage on TikTok and the news right now so of course I had to put a wild spin on a northern lights tutorial for you guys! Today we’re learning about how to use glow powders in epoxy, how to do a partial peekaboo, a flawless every time northern lights technique using my favorite micas, how to layer your design aspects, spray painting mountains, and of course, learning that a good paint pen makes everything better!

Awesome cup! I never thought of different colors for the mountains. Always wondered how the northerner light cups were done. Next time for the stars try a toothbrush. Put some white acrylic paint (sometimes you have to thin it a bit) on the bristles and than run you thumb down the bristle while they face the cup. Of course practice on paper till you get the feel. That way you can get different size stars. Than go in with the Posca paint pen for the diamond (plus size) stars.
yes! I've done the toothbrush method quite a few times! I love it but I didnt want to tape off the tumbler again to do it so paint pen it was!!! haha thank you for watching!!! 🥰

I have this saved in my playlist but it popped up again today 👏👏 ~~ya know I’m thinking about the green beam.. I’m gonna try to paint & glitter a piece of vinyl cut in that shape and then weed the unwanted outer part. I bet it will work.. Amazing!! I love the stars with the posca pen, but I couldn't help wondering how you could do that with the glow powder. Hmmmm. You've got my mind spinning :)
Oooo! I just had 63920 ways fly through my head! You could cut small stars with glow vinyl, you could draw the stars with the paint pen then go back over them with a paint brush dipped in Tack It, then dust the glow powder on. But the easiest would probably be to use glow in the dark paint! I don’t know that there would be a good way to do a peekaboo situation like we did with the beam, that’s way too many layers and tiny stars for it to make sense! I say try it out and let me know if you figure out the best way to do it!!! 😍 also I definitely want to see if you do so pleaseeee tag me on Facebook or whatever social media you prefer!!!
@@dceriseboutique I was just thinking of mixing a little 91% alcohol with glow powder and dotting it on. You'd have to seal it. I'm not sure how vulnerable it would be to smudging. I've also read that Floetrol (used for paint pours) can be used with mica powders to paint them on. Yup, the possibilites are endless! :)

Couldn't you use removable vinyl to create the mountains?
Thank you! You could definitely do that! I just liked the look of the ombre so I went with taping it off and spraying it but vinyl would be great too!!! Try it out and let me know how it works!! 😍

this is just an orbital hand sander - I got it for like $13 at Walmart!!!
