My hats off to a great man like Buford PUSSER R. I. P.
This is the first time I’ve heard the songs about Buford , love them , and love Buford ,
Buford you a Hero and you will never be forgotten!!!!!! I LOVE YOU
Growing up in Selmer and McNairy County, I seen Sheriff Buford Pusser almost daily his last few years around Selmer namely the Dixie Café, Leonard's Café, Courthouse, Danny Maxedon's Phillips 66 station, Moore's barber shop, and the Country Manor Restaurant;one of his best friends was Selmer Policeman James Harvell;
You SEEN him huh. I am envious of you seeing him in person but not envious of your grammar
Are you the Ricky Brown who’s name appears on the thank you list on the back of this album?
He reminds me an awful lot of the Sheriff who died in the line of duty here in Johnson County Kentucky, on March 18 1992.
A man by the name of Flem Burchett
had raped his own granddaughter, and had walked out of the courthouse during a recess, and went back home. Sheriff Cecil E.(Gene) Cryus went to the home to take him back into custody, when the Sheriff walked up on the porch, the door opened and he was met with the blast of a 12 ga. shotgun which was fatal. Sheriff Cyrus was a friend to everyone he came in contact with except for drug dealers, child molesters and thieves, they hated him with a passion, and for good reason.
Much like Buford, Sheriff Cyrus didn't carry a gun at times, he too stood well over six feet tall, weighed well over 200 pounds and carried a big stick, and when he said you were going to jail, you were going to jail!
Sheriff Cyrus was one of the best friends I've ever had. He was a lot like Sheriff Pusser, when it came to dealing with wrong doers, if you were his best friend, or worst enemy, he treated you the same, and he did not care for drug dealers, and child molesters.
R. I. P. Sheriff Cecil E (Gene) Cyrus.
R. I. P. Sheriff Buford Hayes Pusser.
Joe Blanton, That's a very interesting story, Thanks for posting.
can you imagine what this nation would have been like if ole Buford were president of the u.s.? wow!
Interesting! It's wonderful to hear Mr. Pusser's actual voice!
I just subscribed to your channel. I'm from Memphis born here in 1956. My family is from Michie Tennessee in southeast McNairy County. Always loved your music. I remember when all the state line stuff in McNairy County and Alcorn County Mississippi was going down as if it were yesterday. Thanks for your videos!
the life n legacy of buford pusser is interesting and amazing story, his motive may not have been pure but he did what was right, lived a life of courage and overcame fear, was able to change the culture of the county that he lived in, I believe he was Gods tool and the Good Lord miraculously protected him, he wasn't a perfect man none of us are, but he made sacrifices to defeat evil and corruption. I think his life brings honor to those who wear a badge and put there life on the line each and everyday that work with honesty n integrity.
Well said onfire celt! I couldn't have said it better myself. To Walter Butler,,onfire celt was just simply stating that he was going to do it his own way, big stick and all.As well as after the Dixie Mob murdered his wife he was going to get the men responsible One Way or Another. And he DID.It was nothing demeaning or derogatory.
I think Buford was great, loved him and still do, I know he’s not with us but will love him til the day I die and hopefully he will be at the gate of heaven to greet the ones who love him

I like the hamburger at Rally's that is named after him.

Thank you so much. Eddie Bond was a wonderful friend/mentor/producer to me. He spoke often of Buford and his family. Your sharing of this is a great honor to them both.
What record label released these and where can I get them?
Mel Phillips look on amzon and ebay may have them.
Most likely, SUN in Memphis was the studio. Eddie Bond was signed with several different agencies, but he also had his own.
I'm SHURE HE WAS A GOOD Man IN his Own Way. But All I See. Is. People Write ING Books And Making Money. Off Of HIM And His. family
Hi from France
Fantastic - Please can you tell us the titles of the songs.
Merci Cordialement Daniel
I loves this but something is bugging me. If I'm not mistaken the song says he died on August 12, 1974 but the plaque says August 21, 1974.
The song called Pattern Of Numbers I believe is the name of it. Talks about the coincidence that Buford had with the number 12. for example, August 12th,1967 is when he was ambushed and his wife was murdered. Buford was born December 12, 1937 {12/12/37} . Buford Died August 21st 1974 at Midnight {12} . 21 is 12 backwards.
August 12 is when he and his wife were ambushed. August 21 is the day he was killed.
Sheila Smith his wife died on the 12th of August
His wife died Aug 12 1966. He died Aug 21 1974.
A phoney hero like John Brown
my god ,that's an awful song
I seen too like that there song. It's as country as they come but you wouldn't know nothing about that Hollywood.
