Remembering Eddie Haskell Portrayer Ken Osmond Of ‘Leave It to Beaver’ | TODAY
I met Ken Osmond and Frank Bank ("Lumpy", who passed away in 2013) about 15 years ago, and they were both very kind. Neither one of them gave me the business! Eddie Haskell was the original suckup before the term "suckup" was invented, and although he was typecast forever, we'll forever be grateful to him for the many laughs and eye-rolls through the years. My condolences to his family and friends.
Rest in Peace to the most remembered troublemaker in all of sitcom television- Eddie Haskell, played by the great Ken Osmond.
Yes he was trouble maker
Best part of leave to beaver, Eddie
@@lloydkline6946 yes he made the whole show funny
he was always giving beav and wally the business
Ken Osmond made the Eddie Haskell character iconic and endearing. His passing makes me sad.
Rest in peace Eddie. I still watch the show on me tv every morning. You will be missed.
I do as well with my younger kids.
Probably my favorite show growing up. I was standing by Ken at a sports card show in St. Louis back in the 90's. I was
going to go up to him and say "That's a lovely sweater you are wearing Mr. Haskell", but I didn't. I sure wish I had said that
to him. It probably would have given everyone a good laugh. RIP Eddie/Ken.
I was born the year the series went off the air I remember watching it in reruns in the 70s good, clean, entertainment. Thanks for the laughs Ken Osmond a.k. a Eddie Haskell. Rest in Peace
I'm 65 Black female and I love Eddie. I love leave it Beaver...Eddie was a charmer..Ward and June were my role model parents. I used their parenting skills to raise my children. I lived in the inner city in Oakland...I was June and Ward..lol. No drugs no projects clean living and a lesson learned with each incident. No Good times for me...
Eddie was my hero, love Eddie and wally hangout together
Elaine Donaway I met elderly black couples that were young couple back in those days in the 80’s while in the military. They told me they got along with everyone and the racism portrayed today they told me was not common at all. People were neighborly, they were neighborly and people were more honest with their words being good as gold. Complete opposite of what is portrayed today and I am asian.
Let's face it, Wally and the Beav were too straight laced to be funny on their own. It took their friends like Eddie, Lumpy, Gilbert, Richard, Larry, and Whitey who'd get them in trouble. Even Fred Rutherford was great.
@@dancinkindofguy1352 my favorite part of leave it to beaver was wally &Eddie,
Yeah, because you usually should be white to enjoy white people's acting; Christ.
My Mrs. Cleaver Its So Nice Up Here In Heaven!! RIP Ken Osmond Eddie Haskell you will be missed!! Condolences to the Osmond family. 🙏🙏
Everybody loved Eddie Haskell...... regardless of how mean he can be to Beaver. And, just to watch him compliment June Cleaver was priceless.
The bad boy of Leave It To Beaver. Lol. I loved Eddie Haskell. He and Beaver were my favorites. As a kid I watched the reruns. One of my favorite shows. Eddie could really lay it on thick with the responsible attitude and complimentary talk in front of the adults, etc. He could've been a politician if he fine tuned his delivery better. Thanks for the good times sir.
Also, Wally and Larry!!!!!
When Kenneth Osmond appeared on Leave It To Beaver, you knew that the episode was going to be a lot of fun. RIP.
Best part of leave to beaver Eddie

❤ Eddie, my hero on leave it to beaver, , ❤ hangout with wally
*The episodes with Eddie in my opinion were the best ones. "Wouldn't you agree Wallace and Theodore.?"*
Ken Osmond is gone, but Eddie Haskell goes on and on and on ...
RIP to the World's Foremost Wise-Guy.
We Love you Eddie Haskell.
What a great job he did with that character. RIP Ken and thank you for protecting your community.
Eddie Haskell was great! R.I.P. Ken Osmond!
I remember in the spring of 73 when I was in 10th grade. We had a real bad thunderstorm and the lights were out for almost a hour with flash flooding, high winds trees down ect. Everyone in the carpool was talking about the storm. I said "that I was studying so hard I did not notice anything". Everyone laughed and the driver Mrs Van Cleave said that was something Eddie Haskell would say. 34 years at a party we both remembered it. Eddie Haskell would have made a great president.
Oh how horrible, everybody that I grew up with on tv is dying right before my very eyes it seems! RIP Eddie Haskell, you truly entertained me! 😢😢😭😭😭😢😢
So Heartbreaking! Leave it to be Beaver is one of my favorite programs! It doesn't get old. Ken Osmond we miss you!
Beautiful tribute ❤️. I loved him on the show. He kind of "stole" the show. RIP and thank you for your service as an officer.
R.I.P. Ken.. You were maybe the all-time funniest tv character.
Oh man, what an amazing character Eddie Haskell was! I still watch the reruns to this day on MeTV. Thank you for the laughs Mr Osmond. RIP.
KEN OSMOND AKA EDDIE HASKELL REST EASY
We will always remember Eddie Haskell! Prayers up and fly high, Ken!
Ken was the best actor on the show. He’s provided me with hours of laughter! So sad he’s gone but he lives on in “The Beaver”!💕🙏
Sorry about Eddie I really enjoyed his character on a great show. Condolences to his family
I hope his off-screen life was, overall, very good. ("Good evening, Mr. and Mrs. Cleaver. Is Wallace home?") LOL!
Gee Mrs. Cleaver, my mother has a dress just like that only hers is imported.
He was the show,, I.o.l.. my dude I still watch it every morn.lmao!!!!
The best TV wise guy ever, RIP Ken Osmond, I hope you, Tony Dow and Frank Bank are together up there....
I loved Eddie and I loved the show the kids actually respected their parents instead of making fun of them like the newer shows did. People who did not live in that era will never understand. That is sad.
How true...
Very sad ! I have been following the whole team lately because It was a show my brother and I watched together and we enjoyed it and saw our relationship to be very close to the two brothers on the show! My heart goes out to the friends and family for this loss!
RIP Ken Osmund AKA EDDIE HASKEL , we all have great memories of you on Leave It To Beaver. Gee Mrs. Cleaver!!!! Rest easy. 🙏🙏.
I watched this while I was eating a hunk of cake .
R.i.P Ken Osmond true actor and legend
The best Wise guy on the show!!!!rip ken we miss you.......
My favorite is when Beaver climbs up that soup billboard and falls inside that big bowl, I think it's so hilarious when Eddie says to Wally, "Hey Wally, some dumb kid fell into the soup heh heh heh" then when he sees Mr. Cleaver standing there, he says, "Hello Mr.Cleaver, some poor unfortunate child is trapped up there" 😅😅
Once Ken Osmond died, he was reunited in heaven with his old buddy Clarence "Lumpy" Rutherford (Frank Bank, 1942-2013). They're still up there to this day, givin' people the business (as well as shooting the breeze with Mr. and Mrs. Cleaver), and waiting for Wally (Tony Dow, still alive at 76 years old) to join them.
Dang... sure hate Eddie Haskell has passed. He was one of TV sitcoms alltime great character actors. Took a long time for that Voodoo curse Beaver put on him to work. RIP Eddie !
Such a great show. Makes you smile. Shows are so violent, rude and unfunny today. RIP Eddie.
So true!!! We used to act like Eddie to our friends mom, Mrs. Faulkner!!!!!
Good morning Mrs. Faulkner, is Scotty at home?????
rip eddie
I think that Ken played the part of Eddie Haskell great. It was a great move to keep him on the show more than just a few appearances. Great he became a regular on the show. Very sad that Ken has passed away 😢. May Ken Osmond R.I.P
Rest In Peace Ken Osmond 1943-2020 he a was for an icon.
Great memories! Great show! RIP Ken!
An adolescent master of flattery raised to the level of absurdity. Hilarious, and timeless. There were several Eddie Haskell- type students in my high school class. Talk about glaringly funny attempts to "get over".
Eddie was so good in part he play so sorry for his passing . He made the beaver show. Ron
My childhood watching it. RIP Ken osmonds. Thanks for the funny and great memories 😊. You gave people watching you always.
Oh my goodness!! I loved Eddie Haskell😭😭
Eddie Haskell is my favorite character on Leave it to Beaver.
Eddy Hastle, the guy we loved to hate. lol
Ken Osmond did a good job playing Eddie Haskell.
Eddie, such a wonderful guy.. will be missed forever!
Why Mrs. Cleaver, how nice you look! How are Wallace and Theodore? Wally was the best.😃
He was way before my my time but it's on rerun all the time. What a knucklehead. Ken ended up making much more money from the LAPD and he did get shot and got saved by the vest. He's retired for the last 30 years and his pension is public record. It's way more than any residual...probably way more than most people's salary.
Hes top 10 sitcom supporting actor. I still got barney feif at #1.
Good night sweet prince.
Let's face it, you didn't watch the show just to see Beaver and Wally be good kids, you watched to see Eddie, Lumpy, Larry Mondello, Gilbert, Richard and Whitey talk them into doing things that would get them in trouble.
Angel compared to what kids do today but enjoyed Eddie rip ken
Ken played the role very well. R.I.P. K.O.
My favorite show still❣️
Rip to everyone who is no longer with us 🙏🏼🥲
Gifted actor.
Absolutely iconic….the best.
🎶Baby won’t you please come home🎶Your lovin’ daddy’s all alone🎶

He was the troublemaker you just loved! RIP Ken You brought much joy to my life and still do in reruns, Thank you for your public service.
What a good man he was, too bad he was typecast and we didn't get to see him act more, because he played Eddie perfectly. RIP Mr. Osmond, I'm sure you, along with the rest of the cast that have passed on, were there to welcome home Tony Dow.
@2:04...lf playing an opposite character qualified Ken Osmond as the best actor on LITB, then he and Tony Dow should both be considered the best; for l met Tony Dow at a BALLYS Health Club and his attitude was cold and uncaring. I was shattered, because l used to idolize him. That's what l get for placing a human being on a pedestal.
8 people with thumbs down to this ... WTF?
Someone commented that he was a coward, told him he wasn’t one All he was was a smarty pants or know it all “wisenhiemer”
A prerequisite to becoming a Boeing Company First level supervisor all the way up to CEO is mandatory that you Are a Eddie Haskell ! If you are and you do, you’ll go far in Boeing!
a real funny tribute would be to tie in the scenes "what a pretty dress and you look good today theodore" then the walk up the stairs and door closes TOTAL CHANGE "listen half pint -------------------get lost I did not come over for you to be here" total change in a few seconds.
Rip Ken
R.i.p ken Osman!
😊
Did he right his own verbiage, his character was unique, did he or the writers come up with that unigue characterization?
Did he come up with the unique characterizations himself or was there help?
There should have been "The Eddie Haskell Show" spinoff. What a waste of an icon, better than The Fonz IMO.
He’s the father of Eric & Christian Osmond .
Hoda and Savannah are about as cringe as they come. That entire NBC morning crew puts too much emphasis on themselves instead of the news. I quit watching them years ago.
In many photos (especially when he's an older man), he looks like a cross between Bill Clinton and somebody else that I can't come up with. Just do a Google image search and you'll see. The resemblance is striking in several photos!
Didnt care much for eddie haskell. He was a brat. Lol. But as ken osmond i hope your rip. ❤ 🌹

Eddie made the show
Didn't care for Beaver or the mother
"Eyeroll" on that RODA, retire already. Leave the makeup alone.
Apparent dementia.
rip Eddie
They all aged so badly, especially Jerry
Is this Justin Timberlakes dad?
No
Rlp
Surprised politics wasn't an option in the series.
His character reminds me of Mike Pence.
Soon this show will be in the vault because the younger generation won't watch this because they would rather watch something politically correct
Leave it to Beaver was actually pretty progressive for the time period that it aired on television.
Hey family
how you guys doing
