Every morning when the kids come running off the bus at ProctorElementary School, they are greeted by Milli, the school'sspecially-trained therapy dog.
That's great.Therapy and meeting the children's dog at school is calming and makes them fear less.Mental health and comfort children is the most important.The behavior of therapy dogs is great.💚🐾🐾 A therapy dog is a great stress reducer.
The rule about asking to pet the therapy dog goes to service dogs too! Because service dogs CANT be distracted as 1 it’s illegal and 2 it’s extremely dangerous for their handler (yes 1 handler not millions of people). If you hear NO don’t argue or threaten to steal or kill the dog. It’s NOT your choice to make. The handler has a legal right to say NO.
Animal behaviorist often say taking a dog into a place like a school gives them anxiety. They say to never allow dogs to be around children. Dogs are given acepromazine to calm them down in situations like this. They need to be on drugs to be “normal”
