  • In this video I walk through the process and reasoning behind adding an in-tank fuel pump to my restomod F100 project. I installed an Aermotive Phantom Stealth 18688 fuel pump into the 1970 mustang tank, that is installed in the rear of my F100.

    Another great video Rob - I really enjoy how you describe everything and show us how you make these parts work properly in your design and application here. I think this setup is great, and I have been planning to use the Holley Sniper Returnless Retrofit Fuel Module and Sniper throttle body. Only because of the natural aspirated 428 CJ setup in my 67 F100. Your setup is going to work great with the LS, and setup properly for boost - when you need more fuel and pressure! I really like the Aeromotive setup with the foam installed in the tank. Merry Christmas man. Glad to see you're inspiring others. Keep up the great work! Enjoying your F100 build!

    Hey Rob, great series of videos. Your truck is probably completed by now and I’m sure you’re enjoying the heck out of it. I’m working on a ‘65 F100 and plan on using a lot your ideas on mine. So why did you choose not to use the Aeromatic fuel pump that came with the kit?

  • @11TreyHenry11
    @11TreyHenry11 Před 3 lety +1

    Great video! Happy to see I’ve done basically the same thing. Weird question on the mustang sending unit. Did you just extend the orange wire from the original tank to it and make your own ground? In cab sending unit had a ground but there’s no place on the mustang one for a ground wire? Haven’t tested to see if it works yet but would like to know before I go back on with the bed

    • @330_garage3
      @330_garage3  Před 3 lety +1

      I ran a wire from the new mustang sending unit (same resistance 10 -80ohm as the original F100) to the cab and connected it to the orange wire that went to the original sending unit. The mustang tank seems to be well grounded to the frame, so no need to add that additional ground wire. I measured resistance from the new sending unit stud, to the frame, and saw 10 ohms with a full tank. Works well with the factory f100 gauge!

    • @330_garage3
      @330_garage3  Před 3 lety +1

      Yeah quite a few of the 110v machines will do 3/16" steel in a single pass. Plenty for doing a frame, etc. Check out the Lincoln Weld Pak 140 HD MIG Wire Feed. 140amps will weld a project like this just fine. The duty cycle gets pretty short when you run them at full power like that, so you have to weld a little, and let the machine cool. But it will do it.
