Spring is here!! It makes me so happy to finally be out of winter. I want to refresh the house with some new decor and after working on last week’s thrift flip in the powder room makeover, I have the thrift flip bug. I want these to be done on a budget and I want to use items that you can easily find at the thrift store so you guys can recreate these projects in your own home. What do you think of the projects?!

Growing up my mom would take us to the wallpaper store to buy scrap wallpaper and we wld cover our school books like that! We LOVED it bc NO ONE had such awesome bookcovers.
ooo. another good idea for a diy i will add to my list
Ha, in the 70's we used the brown paper bags to cover our books too, but then we used markers to jazz them up!
@@lorimecikalski3079 that's what I'm talking abt... late 70's early 80's.
@@lorimecikalski3079 I did this in middle school. I graduated in 2017
The stool is definitely my favorite
Thank you, Christine! I think the tones on it came out sooo good 👌🏻
Use the cut off portion of the stool to put under your refurbished wall shelves / New flower pot giving it more height & visual Appeal for using it inside or outside as a planter box
PS
Coleus plants do great inside or outside in shady areas or in low light sources and have wonderful variations in color stories & they grow beautifully in the Chi. Fig trees work great as well ,but once they've established keep it in the same location as they'll start dying off if moved again..❤
I often cover books in wallpaper samples or thick wrapping paper, and that works really well - if the paper is thick it's easy to make the cover so it doesn't actually need glueing to the book and can be changed out periodically 😊
I love the coffee table book one!! That's such a good idea. I love that you share so many small diys. It feels like 2014 CZcams in a cozy way and I miss that
THESE CAME OUT SOOOO GOOD! You really elevated these pieces and the planter makes me miss CA so much ❤ Thank you for sparking creativity for all of us every week! 😍
Thank youuuuu! I think we are due for our annual trip soon 😎😎
Hi Tina! Hey will one of the shelf box things fit in that stool cut off part? I just was seeing plant stand!
Oh, I love that idea!!! 😍
Oh this was a fun video Tina, I remember when I was in my 20s and I loved going to a wallpaper store and getting some samples and then using the wall paper to cover books or boxes. and that was a lot of fun. I loved that planter that you created and painted, I have over 168 house plants so any thing that is unique is what I love the most. Thank you so much for a really fun video, wishing you a blessed week coming up, sending love and hugs, bye! 😉🤗💜💜💜
You scored BIG at the thrift store!! The terra cotta pot is beautiful!
I Believe that the rope on it was originally used to carry liquid from wells or winery's home that way so to me it is more nostalgic & historical that way but no matter what it's a beautiful score ❣️
For an old grey stain I like to make my own. A jar of white vinegar, add steel wool & let sit until the steel wool has disintegrated. The longer you leave it, the darker it will be. This stain really looks like weathered pallet wood.
The stool is my favorite. Nice job on all of them.
the potted planter with the design came out great. unique cheap and visually interesting
so cool i love them! and by the way they do sit on this small stools especially infront on a fire place and also they are used from farmers. i just love them
Tina You are so creative there's nothing that you can't get done, I love your great ideas thanks for sharing those ideas with you subscribers that can be done in our decors.👍🏼
Awwwww! This just made my day. Thank you 🥹💛💛
RIGHT?!?! Absolutely amazing. Now, my decor style is very different from hers. However, my eldest daughter just got married, and I am helping her DIY a lot of stuff, and this channel matches her style PERFECTLY!!
Love the books the best but all are pleasing.
Loving the books they look so high end , with the linen covering !
I’m obsessed!! I wanna make so many more 😍😍
The planter is my favorite!
I haven't been able to find the terracotta paint for a long time. Everything is gorgeous! You are so talented.
The books look SO high end!! I have lots of fabric and books, so I know I'll be doing that DIY. Your DIYs you did when in LA were what brought me to your channel!!
My favorite is the vintage stool and books! They came out so beautiful.
Thank you, Sara!! I am obsessed with how both came out too!! 😍
Turn the bottom half of the stool into a plant stand! Those have been super popular lately, I like the look but any decent one (real wood) goes for like a hundred bucks.
The planter box was my favourite DIY but they are all good :-D
I would never of thought about using fabric to recover the books! It’s was a great idea. The little stool made into two was awesome! ❤✌🏼
I absolutely love the stool. My grandma had little stools all over her house growing up because she was only 4ft 3in and would use them all the time if us kids weren't around to reach something for her. Thanks for bringing back childhood memories.
Tina I Used to Live in Chi town >>> Back in the Seventies , We had a Huge snowstorm on May 27th as it was My Son's Birthday so I'll always remember it Forever .... Weather is often Funny 😮 in Chicago as it's Also gotten in the 80°s in January.😮 Go Figure= Changeability in Chicago is as Funny as it is here in Seattle, Washington 🤣😂🤣.
Never know what Weather is going to Come 😮. Freezing Cold Winters & boiling Hot Summers brought many to the Lake's for Swimming like a little resort Area both in Hyde Park @ Lincoln Park >>>] was so much Fun
Loved those as wall units 😢 but looks good as planters too 😮
Love the idea of the books
1 is the planter 2 is the stool 3 is the book covers.
Stools like these were part of a piece of art by Chinese artist Ai Weiwei. It was called bang installation.
They all came out great! The books ended up looking like stone. Love the planter.
While I really like your finished purposefully distressed stool, a much easier solution could also be to thrift (or find) a stool that is quite worn. I have one like that at home because I found it one the street and needed a stool, I didn't know that look was trending atm 😂
I like the book wrapping. Very nice. Looks like you kept the martha stewart for the recipes, Great cook book actually. So, good choice! If you leave the stool outside in the sun for the summer it will get an even more weathered look to it.
Definitely the stool!!
The books are my favorite then the stool. Awesome job Tina.
Love the books. I did a similar thing covering my old high school year books. I used a drop cloth for the fabric. It was fun!
The stool is my favorite!!!
yesss
Tina, you are soooooooooooooooooooooo talented!!!
ty
Hello friend. I love ‘‘em all, but my favorite is the pot. Awesome recycling 💚
Factor is my jam!!! The food is so incredible. Try the Sun dried tomato chicken, it is my favorite! And it comes with zucchini noodles. I loved how the planter turned out , very high end!
Love the stool. Two for the price of one.
Love the stool! I recommend putting a square top on the remaining legs!!
Omg you’re a genius! 🤩 I’ll definitely keep an eye on a stool that I could buy and distress, I need one for my new monstera 🤭 I love how the stool turned out, and the rest as well! 😍 Watching thrift flips is always fun, thanks for showing us your cool finds 🥰💜
Yessss! So many ways to make a stool cute and I love how this one came out 😍😍
I have a couple of hard cover text books! I can't wait to try this look, especially since I love fantasy so this can really lend itself to making a DIY magic spell book lol.
I agree! Love the stool ❤😊
i love the books
The books! That's so pretty!
Looks awesome!
Enjoyed your video!!! 😊. Thank you!!!
I can't believe the prices on those cube shelves. My thrift stores start at $2.99 for Dollar Tree stuff. lol THAT VASE!!! All ' bout that vase! lol
You could put a pot in the leftover part to make a plant stand as well ❤
This is such a good idea!!! 👏🏼
Tina I love seeing you working on small projects and thrift flips! Why did you choose polymer clay instead of air dry, was it just what you had on hand?
Hey Tina! Love your upcycles!
How about giving a book cover the spray paint/stone treatment?
Loved the book covers best😊
Love the books! And loved the planter❤
I really loved them all. They are all equally so so good. Thanks for sharing
I love the coffee table book makeover!!!
Book is favorite
Enjoyed everything. Favorite for me was the stool. Love your large pot, great score! TFS *Debbie*
I was skeptical of the books, but they look great
I just saw a video of some girl that literally put mud on stool. It looked fantastic.
Omg, now I need to try that 🤣🤣
I loved them both
My favorite is the books . Thanks ❤
Thank you, Naomi!! I loved how they turned out and I can’t wait to make more 😍😍
Love the books 🤩
Planter is fab.
Hello yes all of them turned out equally great, and are some fantastic ways to up cycle used finds I love them all.🙏🏾🥰💖💯💫
You really scammed with that stool! Enough for two! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🥰🥰🥰🥰
Love them all. I just got a stool that was my great grandmothers! ♥️
I love them all!!
❤
Love this!
Thank you so much!!! 💛
STOOL: Bring it down to wood and paint with a vinegar/steel wool solution that will oxidize it.
Polymer clay planter! ❤
I looooove how it turned out too! 😍
omgggggg!! yay!! a sponsor that in gonna use! we been wa ti g to try them!
Cool ideas 💡 ❤😊
👍
Yes, I loved covering my books with brown bags in school. Memories 😊
Love that school taught us to DIY at an early age 🤣
Nice!
The pot is not my favorite, it seems gaudy to me, but the color is great. Those vintage stools are the BEEEST. 👏👏
🫂🫂🫂❤️❤️❤️✨✨✨🎉
👍👍👍❤😁
I don't think you have to say "or welcome back". Welcome encompasses "welcome back"! 😉😊
Your stool is nice but it certainly does not look like an old milking stool. I just watched a vid where a woman made her own stool, distressed it much, much more than you have, sanded then rubbed in wet dirt. I could not believe how cool it looked. She sealed with a matte sealer.
❤
