- In this video you will learn how to deep clean PCV valve and how to tell it is bad by symptoms. By knowing the symptoms and testing, you will know when to replace it especially when the engine is losing oil. For example, if you shake the PCV and hear no rattling noise, that means it is stuck closed or perhaps stuck open. My lecture consist of explanation and detailed reasons why the PCV should be replaced maintained.
You made this so simple to understand , thank you !
This is a good video. I have a Dodge Grand Caravan with a PCV Valve like that. I have two of them. Every oil change I put a clean one in. I clean the one I take off and put it on the shelf for the next service.
An OEM PCV Valve from Mopar is about $90. The old style ones are like $5-$10. and does the same thing. Thanks for the video.
I'm cooking a four cheese alfredo for the mechanics banquet. 🧀🧀🧀🧀🍝
Good video
Thanks!!!
Will throttle body cleaner work?
Hi can the bad PCV cause engine ticking noise??
I don’t no if my insignia diesel has pcv valve?👍👍
Soak it in a small container of hot tap dish soapy water for 15 minutes and use an old toothbrush on it. That can speed things up and then go straight to any solvent cleaner. Douse it with wd40 or similar at the end, if using water only. Get most of the water out, if not all and make sure it shakes and such!
Can i use kerosene to clean it?
Can you do this if you’re not able to take off the pcv (aka pcv built in) ? Will this harm the engine?
That's a lot of work Arnold's
I have one that rattles but allows flow both ways. Is it no good?

Bru where some gloves !! Also....you should be using those chemicals outside only...not inside a garage or house!! Those chemicals are harmful ........Thanks for your video's. IMO just replace it if you can, it's a few bucks for a new one.
I'd wear gloves ...
Why not buy a new one with a fresh spring for 3$??!!!!a can of carb cleaner is about $5.Just saying...lol.
