It's crazy how much road salt can impact our cars. Nicely done, looks like quite a project!

lol so funny story, I was actually doing a ball joint, axle, and wheel bearing so I tried to make 3 videos out of it and I just cut parts out depending on the video

The ball joint once it is pressed in should not be loose. The snap ring is there to keep the ball joint from falling (in case it loosens up).

Question is how long did that ball joint last? Loose is not good and IMO prone to failure. Best repair is a new LCA. Other than that. Thanks for the video.

Hey man nice to see you watching my videos lol. I’ve been a long time subscriber of yours. So this control arm I did replace just a couple months prior to this video. There was a road by my house that was horrible for a long time and after enough drives on it this ball joint went bad. I do agree with you that if the control arm is original just replace it. Watch my other video on control arm tips and tricks.

In that video I show what to do if the front speed but weld breaks

Not sure if I missed this in the video, but when do you grease the ball joint? When the knuckle is seated? Does the ball joint you installed come with grease in it already? Ty in advance, working on my ford edge today!

So oddly enough 1 ball joint had a grease fitting and the other side didn’t for some reason. I personally grease them after they’re installed and the whole job is done, I jack it up so all the tension is off of the ball joint and then I grease it . If you try to grease it before you install it all the grease with shoot out when you run the big nut down. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching and if you needs any more help please don’t hesitate to ask!

If you can get a decently priced control arm with the ball joint You wont have to remove all that.

So i did the control arms multiple times in this thing and those junk non greasable ball joints don’t last for crap where I live so I change them out with greasable ones
