Just a hint on finding water with better and more fish. If the stream has convenient parking, easy access, and only a ten minute walk from your car, forgetaboutit. At the beginning of this video, Allegheny Native said, "an hour walk to the stream". The least pressured, hardest to get to, which most likely involves a loooooong walk downhill and an even longer walk back up the mountain, and might involve an overnight rustic camp is the kind of water Allegheny Native looks for. Any section of a stream close to a road is already under heavy pressure. Find a section of the same stream that is too 'difficult' for most fishermen, too far downhill, too far from the car. That's where the Native Brookies and the holdover trout hide.
Hey guys awesome video! you killed it again. Thank you for taking the time to share more that just catching fish. As a new fly fisherman it is much appreciated for any tips.
Good to hear from you guys. Topo maps will give a good reason to explore. I enjoyed watching the scenery and seeing the gorgeous rainbows. Purchased one of your hats lm also enjoying it. Stay safe. Until next time. 👍👍
Dude, you have a George Costanza sized wallet lol! Time to ditch the blockbuster card and the high school id haha. Anyway, great vid always love living vicariously through you guys while stuck here at work.
My biggest issue with summertime fly fishing is the vegetation. I fish a lot of small water. This is no problem in the spring. It’s really nice actually. But come June, my brooks are so overgrown with trees, grass, ticks, everything…it’s just easier to devote my summers to bass fishing. I’d love to continue fly fishing in the summer. It’s just suuuuuch a painnnnn.
How well does that 10ft 2wt euro rod cast a 5 weight WF fly line? I've been considering a dedicated Euro rod myself and was hoping to be able to line up a 3 weight with 5 weight line just for the versatility. Also, I could swap out with my 9ft 5wt. Great videos guys, keep it up!
Hey Tony! It works great! That’s actually what we use in this entire video, we were fishing a 10’ 3 weight earlier in the year with 5 weight line chucking dries on some bigger water and it throws it out there no trouble at all! Thanks for watching!
Sorry guys, good shots, good visuals, but as far as an end-to-end vid, not your best - no bites or even rises on vid and the instruction wasn’t great. If you’re gonna suggest we look online for waters intel, tell us how. Eg, go to your state’s fish and wildlife site - they frequently have interactive maps that show regs and stockings. Or, contact local fly shops. And, about deciding what fly to use, you just said, “ we started with this…” - but why did you start with that? Did you look under rocks? Did you catch bugs floating? Why did you switch to caddis vs something else? Maybe do one or the other - a visuals vid or an instructional vid. You’ve done great vids; this is not one of them
Hey Stephen, I knew a comment like this was coming. Sometimes it’s hard in the summer to get content, water gets low and warm and fishing is not great. The bite was so sporadic, I would have filled up 10 cards trying to get a hook up. So I work with what I got, as far as info goes, I should have definitely went more in depth with the topics. No doubt there, people don’t like it when we talk to much and they get upset if we don’t talk enough. Just trying to find somewhere in between, Thanks for your input and watching!

Great video!!!
Thanks for the tipps
hello, are you using a weight forward line for using the dry dropper method? thanks
Perfect timing on those tips. Going dry dropper fishing next weekend. As far as the OPST do you prefer it over a nymph fly line?
I prefer the OPST!
oooo somebodyy got a drone
Yeahhh boiiioo

What line do you use for your dry/dropper set up?
Top
What song is this?
How about wet and dry fly? You use only nymphs?
We fish wets occasionally but we generally don’t fish them as a dropper, just personal preference, nothing against them!
The only thing I don’t like about your videos is that sometimes they are not long enough.
