Is that available on automatic variant? Or just manual
@@DpMario11both
Dougie barely knows how to drive. He certainly doesn't grab brake handles to drift.

best part about the entire car
you missed it in the regular mustang gt review. if you were a real mustang guy you'd have watched every video on every mustang no matter how high or low optioned.
Does Doug do any research on these vehicles anymore? How does a guy known for quirks and features not mention the drift brake and engine revving from the key fob?
Ford says it's going to remotely control the abilities of your car including disabled Air Conditioning in the Texas heat if you're late on payments not caring if your baby's in the car or not. You will own nothing and be happy.
Well, when you are paid 34 million for your auction website, you kinda focus on that.
Genuine question, because I"m not a car enthusiast: why do people always bring up his car website? @@FordMaverickTV
Honda accord in the front ufo space craft in the back lmao 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂💀💀💀💀💀
He reviewed the regular mustang already, and he mentioned those there, he mostly focused on the differences here
The exhaust popping during the “quiet mode” demonstration was hilarious
I know it's not a big deal, overall, but the fact the Dark Horse badge is almost the same shape as the key fob, yet they still used the normal Mustang badge on the fob, is a missed opportunity.
Cost cut, sure, and it ultimately doesn't matter, but it would have worked.
Dark Horse Badge of the 2024 Mustang looked kinda nice like the 2005 Mustang.
That key fob says it all, it’s symbolic. That’s how American auto companies have become, they’ll cut corners and use flimsy parts and materials while pricing the car higher than what it should be. Anyone who pays nearly 70k for this bland looking turd on wheels is a fool.

Saw this thing yesterday at a dealership getting maintenance. This sound grumbled from across the dealership lot and it sits low and mean. Things definitely have alot of presence and look great in person.
Good clean and insightful comment. 👏
The Exhaust note specially in the track mode is seriously "NUTS"!
It truly is for a stock exhaust. Even more crazy with a simple X-pipe resonator delete (or H-pipe).
As usual, good review.
He had a few factual errors there that I noted:
He said that Recaros are standard on DH - they're not, they're a $1600+ option
He said the brake handle doesn't do any variable, just park and release - Not true, he didn't mention anything about the Drift Brake mode
He said you can't see what music is playing or directions on the gauge cluster screen - not true, Android Auto/Apple Carplay will both show the currently playing track title and next turn from GPS apps in the gauge cluster.
He also didn’t mention the dark horse is severely underpowered
@@JelatoAkitasohh c'mon this ain't a Shelby
He omits important details because he wants to do a quick review and doesn't bother going through all the quirks and features like he used to, ever since he stopped giving reasons why certain aspects of the car has a score.
@@JelatoAkitas severely underpowered while the car makes 500 to the crank social media has young minds into thinking anything below 800hp is slow, truly a shame people focus more on numbers than the car itself but if you're really into spec sheets and flexing just buy the optional supercharger ford is now offering for 10k more and a 36k miles warranty you can have 810whp
@@jeremyclarkson-69 Totally. Even 500 hp to the crank is way too much. Most people can't handle that much power, even among petrolheads. On the other side, if one is not a racer, s/he has absolutely no need of all that power either.

I thoroughly enjoyed the time I had with a fully loaded premium spec for a couple days. They are definitely worth the price, if you can get one at MSRP... Mine was MSRP $67k USD, but out the door the dealer wanted $93k... Don't ever pay that much for a DarkHorse.
I would tell em I have 67k and that's it. I wouldn't leave the dealership until they sold it for what it's worth.....67 k.....not 90k .
Really wish Ford would crack down on this. Dealers just keep reaping the benefits of current gen Fords.
@@BlueOvals24 the dealer isn't the problem, customer is
@BlueOvals24 Ford can't do anything about it because dealerships are protected.
@@burgerbandit3646 Ford probably can do something, since Honda and Toyota have both cracked down on dealer markups.
This is among one of the very few recent cars I actually like the look of! I'm glad they haven't changed it much throughout the past few generations because it continues to carry that distinctive look so when you see it, you know you're looking at a Mustang! If it ain't broke, don't fit it!!

Dang, Doug out here getting his comments spammed about some stupid Amazon thing 😅
I think the thing in question is a financial investment scam that tricks people into donating to cybercriminals to fund criminal operations, at least based on other CZcams videos I've seen where the hosts expose the scams. The cybercriminals appear to specifically target popular CZcams users who produce videos in English, at least from what I can tell.
From what I can tell in some CZcams videos I watched, I think the cybercriminals use custom-made malware that controls many CZcams accounts at once to automate the spamming process, because in one of the videos, someone deleted one of the comments and another user automatically posted another comment with the same scammer's contact information, then it went on until the parent comment was deleted.
I have owned old school Mustangs, including a '67 Fastback, and several models up to the modern era. This looks like a fun car, and I probably would be happy to own one (my wife would definitely veto that, though). Thanks for another video, Dough.
Thank you Doug for further showing what other CZcamsrs don't, as always; love you stuff. Here's some notes from someone who's owned all three S550 trims: Ecoboost, GT, and currently a Mach 1 with Handling Package.
- So basically, a S550 Mach 1, with S550 rear wing, a [not mentioned] dual air intake with the opening snorkeled to either side of the big, large, top half of openings; the Tremec is the way to go, not the Getrag MT 82[-4] - Ford is keeping the HIGHLY-QUESTIONABLE 10R80 auto trans. the same one that has been "revamped" [it hasn't, still trash] and is under many lawsuits because the same trans. is in the F150.
- The "handbrake" was changed from manual linkage into E-Brake as in electronic, on/off only, as most new cars these days are.
- The "fox body gauges" has been Ford's biggest marketing B.S. for this entire S650 series, pathetic.
- Regarding the main dash, the music currently playing is top-center [AM station in clip], and the music note button on steering wheel gives some quick-actions, as did the S550 digital dash.
- The Steering Wheel logo being the Mustang emblem is cost-cutting, so it can be interchangeable with all of them, they likely would've needed new airbag-type certifications if the emblem was altered from what it is.
- Surprised of not pointing out the flat-bottom steering wheel...
-Rear seats existing was a tax reason on the company end, 2 seats makes it a "roadster", back when it mattered...
- ALL Fords have cap-less fuel-fillers, and have for over a decade now.
- Bonus fact: there is a "rear-seat delete" however you'll lose the ability to Fold Down the rear seats if needed, it's a fixed piece.
You should have your own channel...that reviews exactly what you've posted here because this is very exciting stuff.
You'll become an well-known auto reviewer, perhaps a legendary reviewer, of the likes the world has never dared to consider as remotely possible in today's competitive field as we know it. I'm serious as a brain aneurysm...ya got talent.
I'll be subscriber.
Make it happen...
I like too how the "Fox body gauges" go to 180... I'm a huge fan and have owned many but that's kinda funny... Actually had a buddy break his MPH gauge back in the day... I'll let you figure out why... I will have to say tho this Mustang is pretty nice, even tho the day that the 60k price tag finally became a reality...
OMG, Fords ahve capless fuel fillers, that's so outrageous...
...and, throwing back to a much loved previous model with a digital gauge option, how horrid...
lol @ the Mustang being a 2+2 because of taxes...
tl;dr - old man yells at clouds
The light dance when you approach is to warn anybody in the general area to move back at least 500 ft whenever the owner is getting ready to leave wherever the car is currently parked
DANGER! DANGER!
Trip 1: 9.4 mpg....love that. Means it's being driven the best way
The problem is that to the regular person who's getting robbed coming and going, even $50k is just something not worth it right now much less 60k. Doug needs to come rub elbows with the normies for a while. In other words touch grass bro. And this is coming from a man and wife, ones a nurse the other in in real estate...
I totally agree. To me this is a 40k car.
Thank you Doug for presenting a RED one. I have watched several reviews of this car and this is the first time I have seen this car in red. Now I want one.
So glad to hear that Ford is still offering a proper manual transmission, unlike almost everyone else who is going with stupid automatics. I really hope that Ford sells a bunch of these. If I had the money, I'd buy one. Thank you.
We need a super cut of Doug saying Dark Horse 21:23
If I owned this car, I would turn the badges upside down.
Great review man!
I love how quiet mode still has some pops to it XD
In 1968 I had a Mustang GT/CS that had, as part of the California Special decor package, tailights from the 1965 Thunderbird, and they too, were sequential. I know that was before you were born, so I'll give you that. Us Mustang lovers cringe when a supposed expert gets basic information incorrect. But, we still love you, so keep up the good work...
Kinda disappointed Doug didn't show off remote rev (Autovlog didn't either), such a cool feature. Not to mention the handbrake's other function as a drift brake
Agree.
Awesome video!!! Really loved the DARK HORSE!! 😄😜
I looked at one today and I was very impressed. Ive never been a big Mustang fan but for this one I would make an exception. The car has a very aggressive look. Overall, the car is beautiful.

Very good video Doug. Love the way you showed the exhaust work. Wow
Brembo 6 piston fronts and twin piston rear brakes came on my 2018 STi and I could never go back to having lesser braking power. That much braking power is amazing, and proven life saving at times.
On a Scat Pack I went from 4-piston Brembos on all 4 to 6 on front (OEM Hellcat) after a close call. Totally worth it.

I just got mine in Grabber Blue and Black, and I love it so far. I don't fathom how it accelerates slower than a Nissan Z, though.
I thought the mustang GT was faster than the Nissan Z according to the race result videos on CZcams. But both the dark horse mustang and the Nissan Z are unique in they own way
i like this garage setting where the newer videos were filmed but i also liked the variety before. I hope we will still see the background changing every now and then
The 2024 Mustang with Snake Badge should've been better.
Mustang has an optional 'drift brake' available in the 2024 models. That may be an option here. I've heard good things about it online, but haven't experienced it personally.
It's definitely the option here. The basic one with not drift package just has a regular push button break.
Well they had one.
5:46 thanks for pointing out the wheels Doug, I never would have known where to look😁😆
The interior is perfect! I love the futuristic theme with fancy screens inside. Don’t care for the automatic transmission though
I bet the steering wheel cover was left as the mustang logo to pass DOT guidelines easier. Changing the drivers airbag cover would involve safety and crash testing.

I’ve said it before, FoMoCo should offer this in the Explorer. Ever since they changed to a rear-wheel bias platform with a longitudinally mounted engines(s), I’ve been waiting for the 5.0 version and I think it would sell like hotcakes.
It would definitely be a nice option, but the EcoBoosts have outsold the V8s since literally the first year they offered the 3.5lEB(they actually got a lot more demand than they expected, which is kinda hilarious considering the internet "outrage" over trucks getting turbo gas engines, "oh the horror" lol)
Would certainly make for a cool swap if you found a cheap salvage title RWD2.0 era Explorer, or maybe even a Godzilla swap. Put it on air bags to beef up the capacity a little more, have a sleeper tow rig lol.
@@RyTrapp0 I was referring to the latest gen (6th) Explorer, it isn’t available with a V8, which is why the EcoBoosts have “outsold” them, lol. This latest gen has the longitudinally arraigned drivetrain so it would be finally compatible to a V8. Just imagine a Timberline with a Coyote 5.0, mmm.
@@richgallagher725 No, I'm saying the EBs have outsold the NA engines in everything they've offered them in, outsold the 5.0l in the F150 the first year they offered the 3.5EB; that's likely why they didn't bother offering the 5.0l in the new gen, because it's just a handful of people like us that would prefer it/actually care about what engine it is.
Damn it would be nice though. Would love to see the modified ones on the internet running 10s or 9s, like these Coyote F150s lol.
I love the graphic on the rear glass showing off what you could have bought if you had taste :) Old mustangs are the good mustangs!
The Dark Horse is one "gotta have it" Mustang. However, besides the design where Ford has saved a lot of bucks, I only wish that Ford had made this car in all aluminum instead of steel to reduce the weight.
However wouldn't that significantly INCREASE the price and sort of negate everything they did to 'save a lot of bucks'?
@@StreetPreacherr True that 👍
Not stiff enough buddy
They can do that with the F series, that’s still body-on-frame, that’s not that much of a stretch engineering wise. On a monocoque though that’s a different ball game. They would totally over shoot their price point. That’s not even factoring in R&D and retooling delays.
The money saved on the design same can be factored into the usage of Mustang body panels. Infact Ford did posted a job on the LinkedIn for the Mustang project and expertise in AL. This post was shared on Mustang6G forum.
Besides the base price of Mustang which sits around $40K. None of the components used in Dark Horse can fetch another $25~30K which is the again restarting the nearly the same $40k price (that offcourse includes good amount of profit).
20:49 Ok, I had a 2015 Mustang until last year and this 2024 looks almost the same to me. However, I also had a 2005 and a 2012 and those 2 cars were COMPLETELY different from each other and for sure from the 2015s. Look at the rear window on the 2005-2009, interior is completely different, the door handles are different. The doors are different. The fronts and rear are totally different, not even close. The 2010 shared the same drivetrain as the 05 to 09s but in 2011 that was upgraded from the 4.6 to a 5.0 and went from 5 speed to a 6 speed. It was the same with the V6 too and you also got dual exhaust on the V6 in 2011 for the first time.
I was about to retire, now I need to work 4 more years before my wife allows me to get this masterpiece. Worth it

For me, the styling of the new Mustang is fairly enough of a redesign to retain its signature look while keeping it fresh. The Mach-E is already too unconventional for what we know and love about the Mustang nameplate, so I guess it makes sense to make the original one more traditional. I just wish the '60s style dashboard layout from the previous generation has been retained and improved with newer touches. The one in the '24 model feels too modern in my opinion.
