there's a reason why 'when the doom soundtrack kicks in' is such a meme. i dont think ANYONE can listen to this and not feel a certain way.
I know Mick used a mix of a TON of gear ont his OST but the one he really showcased was the Polivoks synth he showcases in this video from Russia. If you haven't checked out the making of DOOM videos Mick put out, I'd HIGHLY recommend it. Super inspirational to watch. He talks a lot about what he worked with.

Fun fact the noise you kept referring to is actually a reverbed sound clip of the ORGINAL Doom's chainsaw.
I don't think that's correct. From what I remember, it was his neighbor's chainsaw/lawnmower that he sampled
@@Sushiman118 I think it's his neighbor's lawnmower in the only thing they fear is you. The original Doom chainsaw is used in hellwalker. Forget what's used here though.

My favorite is definitely Metal Hell. It definitely brings out the "hell" world's landscape in song form. Very evil and sinister. There is a version posted by Koma and its called Metal Hell Gamerip

The thing that actually blows my mind everytime I listen to the track is, that in the Drop I always think 'Heck Yeah! That Track is on the highest Volume-Level in the mix!' but then there are still all these hardcore Impacts and shots that just hit you like a kick from Miachel Smolik! XD
for those who don't know: Miachel Smolik holds the world record for the worlds fastest K1 knockout, using his kicks. (3 seconds)
Something I didn't actually appreciate til last year... though I loved the doom ost... I never appreciated how hard this song fucks... with only 1 note basically.
I honestly feel like doom has some of the most influential in gaming.
Games you can hear a song from the ost and IMMEDIATELY know what game it is... off the top of my head in no particular order
Mario, Zelda, pokemon, undertale, DOOM, or Dark eldenborne souls.
