Great video! I am a “newbie” so this was perfect to describe what type of materials you can use for certain projects! Thanks again for your time!
Thank you I was forgetting what they each did. Cut out a project I thought I was going to iron, but it was smart vinyl.
OH NO! Hopefully you could use it for something else!
I seldom comment on any videos but I must take the time to compliment you. Your videos are intelligent with relevant and informative information. I look forward to each of your videos and can honestly say that I learn something from most every one. I wish you lots of success in all of your future endeavors.
I appreciate that!
Agreed!! I’ve never commented on a CZcams video before, this was fantastic!
I enjoy your style. You jump right in with out fluff. Full of the information I want and need. Thanks!
Awesome! Thank you!
I just got my first Cricut(joy xtra) and this helps so much. I haven't even opened the box cuz I had no idea what paper is needed for what. Thx for the vid.
Happy to help!

Comprehensive and clear. Thanks Angie!

Very simple and clear information given in this video. Great jib
Thank you so much for creating this video . It was very helpful on what each material is used for which machine.
What a great detailed video for beginners and experienced. Thank you so much.
Glad it was helpful!
Wonderful video- it filled in lots of holes in my knowledge- Thank you!
So glad!
Thanks so much for this concise and easy to understand video. Now that I have some knowledge about all the materials that work with Cricut, I feel confident in what materials to purchase for my projects!!!!
Thank you Angie for the info on different materials now all I need to do is try using them.
Have fun!
Very helpful. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for such detailed videos…
So nice of you!
Great overview video 😊

Glad it was helpful!

Glad you like them!
Wao!..so much information but very informative. I have learned so much 7 days crash course of than with all lthe videos I have seen, and I can watch it again and again to refresh. Thank you so much..Keep up the awesome work Angie
Yay! Happy to help!
THIS WAS SOOOO HELPFUL! My husband just got me your cricut joy for Christmas and I have no idea where to start! This was so helpful. Thank you.
Happy to help!
The one Cricut product line I have never used is the cardstock ... and I do make a lot of papercraft. So I'll give it a try. the sticker cardstock in particular sounds brilliant.
I think you are going to love that one!
Great video. Love the way you explain without a lot of extra blah blah blah. Haha
I am very new to Cricut. I opened the box and set up 2 days ago. I am most interested in iron on designing. Could you please direct me to a video that shows how to do that? Thank you and please keep up the great videos.👍😊

Thanks for reminding me everything available. I have many projects to get started on 🤦♀️
You got this!
Thank you for your videos!!! I am a complete newbie!!!!! I have had my maker 3 for over a month, and haven’t done anything! First I have been on and off sick for almost two years!!! So when I have a good maybe week or two I would like to be ready to make something!!! ( did I say I also am scared ) I have lots of regular and heat vinyl! I actually have everything you need to make a child’s onesie, child tee shirt, I also just bought one each of tall stainless steel big tumblers for my grown boys for their birthdays????? Thank you Cindy
Just jump in and try a project! I know you can do it!
So many options! I am a t-shirt quilt maker. so I do a lot of projects with shirts! I am finding at more times that I need to add a vinyl option to a project. I do applique some items as well but their usually parts or pieces of shirts. Trying to decide between an explore or Maker. All Suggestions welcome. I had the expression years ago.
I would go with the Maker if you want to cut tshirt material to use as an applique.
I have some sheets that im having trouble getting to cut and weed. Cannot figure out what material they are. New user of 3 months. Thanks angie. Appreciate your content!
I would do small test cuts with different material types to try and narrow it down to something that will work.
Thank you for a very informative video 👏
Do you have a videos going through the different blades ans what they are used for?
Here you go: czcams.com/video/yRFuJJseDRY/video.html
Great video, thanks :)
My pleasure!
I always love your videos! You provide great information in a straight forward, pleasant style without the unnecessary patter so common in Cricut how-to videos. One question: do you recommend a particular type of vinyl for use as a stencil for etching glass? Thanks!
Try this: czcams.com/video/CuQg0N5GSbU/video.html
@@AngieHolden Thank you so much! I've never posted a question on any CZcams video comments, but I can't imagine anyone would reply so promptly. You're amazing!
Any time!
Infusible Ink for Joy Video please? I’ve binged your channel and you have great teaching skills.
I would just use the infusible ink video as it is the same: czcams.com/video/l7_yb-boUHA/video.html
Great video, thanks for the info and inspiration to try new materials! I’m new to the Cricut world and this video helped to clarify the wide range of materials I can try. Wondering what type of trimmer you use in your crafting room, or do you just use scissors? I’m considering purchasing a trimmer but there are so many on the market! Thanks 😊
I have like 4 trimmers! I am not particularly partial to any brand though!
Thank you very much for your this video and your all other videos, they are enjoying, currently I'm interesting to focus on 4 projects as follow:
1- Cake & flowers toppers.
2- Gifts & Occasions Cards.
3- Wedding Cards.
4- Cutting & engraving acrylic sheets.
Kindly, I want to know: What Ideal materials I use for every item in above list?
All possible materials I could use to make item, for example:
for Cake & flowers toppers: Vinyl, posterboard, Glitter Cardstock, Kraft Board Foil, Acrylic .. itc, and also, if there any extra materials I could use to make item.
You can make toppers out of any material. Here is one version: czcams.com/video/pxcVQx7OD3g/video.html
And here is a video on acrylic: czcams.com/video/F4alhlH2t3Y/video.html
Hi, thank you creating videos like this because as a beginner to cricut (just got my cricut last Tuesday 😁) I am wondering and searching which material is right for certain projects. And I would love to watch your videos on the basics also plus can I use iron on to linen fabric. thank you so much. 💐😊
Yes iron on will work on linen.
@@AngieHolden thank you…. been binge watching your videos 😊
Great video. Thank you Do you have any videos about other brands for HTV, and faux leather? There are so many, I am overwhelmed. Just bought my 1st circut, a maker 3. I want to do shirts, totes and earrings. Thank you for great videos.
I don't have a full comparison for HTV up but there are some other videos using some other brands. For faux leather, I really love the Cricut brand just to be honest.
So many options! You gave us a lot of information! I think I’m saving this video to refer back to in the future. I have a question though about cutting the faux leather on the Explorer 2. Do you need a special blade for that? Thanks so much.
No. I use the fine point blade that comes with the machine.
@@AngieHolden thank you
Thank you Angie for very informative video. My question is, Can you cut bamboo fabric on Explore Air 2?
I have not tried it. I wouldn't think it would work but you never know until you try!
Which cricut materials did you recomend for making window clings and do you have a video making winow clings? thank you I just purchased your book and your videos are so informative, thank you
I should have a video next week or the week after with window clings! It is on my list!
Your videos are so informative and thorough. Thank you! Can you please explain why the adhesive backed sticker cardstock isn't compatible with the maker? I would love to try it with my maker.
Just put it on a mat. It is just too wide as it is made to cut without a mat on the other machines.
@@AngieHolden Thank you very much. Can't wait to try it out!
Great video very informative....although can i ask which printer do you use for printable vinyl?
Try this: czcams.com/video/3L3Dn5rkQ9A/video.html
One more question.. I am a beginner and thinking of buying the maker 3.
Which products or accessories are very useful to start with.
Looking forward to it and thanks again for the effort

I am new cricut user and I bought the pens how do I know what color to use they are not colornamed I bought the maker 3 YOUR vidios and so helpful . Thank you
The Cricut pens have colored caps which indicate the color.
Hi Angie do you not have a video on sublimation on a mug without the mug press and on pillow covers? I can't find it. If you do please send me the link. Thank You
Try this: czcams.com/video/sgH7HzWRi7c/video.html and this: czcams.com/video/OSTL5z18gng/video.html
Can the Maker 3 use the regular vinyl? And if so will it still cut fast and would u need a mat as well with the regular vinyl ? Thanks Mike
It can cut regular vinyl on a mat. It is a little faster on the mat but not as much as it is with the SmartMaterials.
Do you need to use a mat to cut smart vinyl designed for maker 3 in the original maker or can you cut without a mat.
Try this: czcams.com/video/U67kchkq2-I/video.html
Hello thanks for taking the time to educate all of us viewers!
Just wanted to get clarity, are you saying that only cricut maker or any cricut machine is best to use the htv cricut supply? I watched and listen twice and wasn't clear.
Sincerely.
Any Cricut machine can cut the HTV unless you get the smart iron on then you will need the Explore 3 or Maker 3.
Thanks!
cardstock question. what blade, what setting, what pressure. 110lb or 65 lb.
Totally depends on what cardstock you are using and frankly which brand. Try a medium or heavy cardstock setting and see what works for you.
Quick question - what kind of adhesive is recommended for cardstock projects? I am trying to make pop out cards and a 3D flower with my Cricut Maker. I appreciate your comment about higher quality cardstock... I bought a bundle and when I opened it at home, I realized it is more like construction paper rather than cardstock... 😏
I like Bearly Arts glue for liquid glue. I do like Glue Dots as well for a dry adhesive.
@@AngieHolden Thank you!
I have a Joy. i find i really want to flatten all my Cricut stock and then store flat in sleeves. Is there any reason why I would not do that. I am firstly a card maker so my Joy is a supplementy piece of equipment and I dont envisage having loads of Cricut stock.
The only think I would be careful with is Infusible Ink. You want to keep it away from moisture/humidity.
Does Cricut maker 3 have dual voltage? Can it work at 220 or 110 voltage without the power stabiliser?
I am not sure.
Can my Cricut Maker cut food grade plastic, to make cookie stencils? If so, what do I purchase to make these stencils?
The Maker itself is not food safe so I don't recommend it.
Can you print on the smart sticker cardstock?
I have not tried it so I am not sure!
Could we cut smart iron on with cricut explore 2 or is it to thick 😊
It is not too thick. You just need to put it on the mat. The backing is thicker not the material itself.
Can you print a photograph in The chipboard and then cut it for a puzzle?
Try this: czcams.com/video/1wJ9TH-ZRhw/video.html
So informative. What's your discount code?
Right now it is CCC2022 but it will change end of July!
Can you show me how to use iron on please I'm just trying to learn
Try this: czcams.com/video/-S6DzXe5p64/video.html
I'm a new Cricut owner, haven't even taken it out of the box yet. I have the Cricut Maker, so I'm guessing the Smart Materials aren't to be used with the Maker, only the Maker 3 or Explorer 3, is that correct?
That is correct.

Do you have any videos using The Cricut acetate and Kraft Broad ???
Definitely. Try this for acetate: czcams.com/video/wCg-MhV13nA/video.html and this for Kraft board: czcams.com/video/nqInAWAyKZM/video.html
@@AngieHolden What about Cricut felt ???
That first video for acetate also has Cricut felt in it.
Do we need paper that is not included with the cricut maker?
When you get your Cricut Maker, you will have a small sample of material to make one cut. You need to purchase any materials that you want to make projects.
Also I forgot to mention that I am newer than a newbie when it comes to computers!!!! I signed up for two classes with Michaels, one is just getting your maker and two is design space!! I mean I could go to design space and just pick something?
If you don't have a machine yet, you might want to do the first class and then see which machine works for you.
@@AngieHolden I do have the maker 3!!!
Oh then I would probably go to both classes then pick a first project!
@@AngieHolden ok!!! But if I am brave enough I might try something small! I have really been wanting to make paper flowers!!! Thank you so much!
Oh yes those are simple! I have a video here if you need it: czcams.com/video/ZfsBmbwmc5w/video.html
How do you do iron on?
Try this: czcams.com/video/-S6DzXe5p64/video.html
Thanks for the video, I learned a lot from it.
Now I want to start printing my own logo of our company on clothes. I assume I have to use transparent iron on vinyl then. Can you give me the name of the product? I can't find it on the internet. Or a link to the product that would be even better.
Thank you in advance.
Are you using sublimation? Or a regular printer?
@@AngieHolden in the beginning a hp laserprinter.. if that is possible..
They might make printable HTV that is okay for a laser printer but I have not used any of it.
Beginner here..Making on canvas .ok.but if I have something to use that is a zippered bag do I need to put something between the back and front to have success…
I usually do to raise the zipper up some.
@@AngieHolden txs
Used a small facecloth.worked perfect
It turned out perfect….you have to try dont you
What about quilt cotton?
You can cut it on a Maker just by itself or on an Explore with interfacing on the back.
Business cards how to?
I have found those aren't really cost effective to make on a Cricut.
How about non permanent tattoos w/print then cut
I haven't done those before! Might add that to the list!
Thank you so much for this video!!! I have saved it in my favourites list so I can refer to it time and again! Very informative. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
