The Dixie Caverns were purchased by a family that loves nature and preserving the land in 1956. Once you visit you'll come to appreciate and love the beauty of these caverns!
Not many caverns in western Virginia are open to the public today, but ours has been open since 1923. Each and every cavern and cave is like a snowflake in that it has its own unique beauty.

Cavern tours are amazing. This is the first time that i have been on a cavern tour that went up the mountain.

I like campgrounds by the interstate, esp. when you need to make good time. I'm one of those people who like bottled water for drinking and cooking, but use a filter for our campground water supply to do dishes, shower, etc. I loved the Dixie Caverns tour and the history of the founders. Am I crazy that I think those bats are cute? We want to go to Ruby Falls next time in Tennessee to see that underground waterfall and the caverns there, but they better leave the lights on, lol. I wasn’t to keen on the Bat thing either but was really neat to see. Ruby falls is most definitely on our list to possibly see one day.
Caverns! I want to see some caverns. It's on my bucket list. LOL. I loved the Natural Bridge Caverns in San Antonio. Wow, those are very beautiful. I love the music! What is really cool about those caverns is that you get to go DOWN at the end as opposed to going down at first and then having to climb back up when you are tired.
It was cool that it was a lot of up and then back down. It is the first time that i went to a cavern that went up...
