Honda high temp Urea Greae is also amazing for this. I've used it in S2000s forever but used it in my C5 and WOW

This was an excellent video! I love the details you noted with the wear of the bushing and the lack of smoothness with the horizontal shifter rod. Many times people don't notice these items and just by replacing that bushing and cleaning and lubricating, the factory shifter rod will make it feel like new. Love the 8- ball knob btw.
I have a C6 GS and I went with MGW years ago and it was the best move ever. The shorter throw of the MGW was more than noticeable, but did take a bit of time to get used because of the notchiness of the MGW. Now I have a MGW Gen 2 Flat Stick setup and I don't know how they did it, but the throw is even a tad bit shorter and the looks of the flat stick are great. I had it color-matched to my Crystal Red Metallic body color and I too went with an 8-ball knob w/shift pattern. The color is a great interior accent pieces and goes with my color matched seatbelt replacements. So, should you decide to go after-market down the road, I highly recommend you go MGW. In the meantime, enjoy your "new" shifting experience.
    Save the Wave🙋‍♂

Would you say it's worth it to do just the upper or do both?
Also the C6 dust boot seems to be made of a different material which keeps less heat from coming up

I was at Sonoma today and 3rd gear just wouldn’t work on the down shift. It was like it wouldn’t fully engage. I have a bunch of slop in the shifter. C6 zo6 shifter in a C5 Z. Do you think the bushings worn out?how long does is it supposed to last with heavy track use?

It seems unlikely that it would be the bushing. I had 141k miles on mine and the movement was very small and not what I would consider problematic. Is the slop present everywhere or just when downshifting from 4 to 3? It’s possible that the linkage is loose. That’s fairly easy to fix, so check it first. If it’s only present between 3 and 4, it might be the shift fork. That one is known to bend.
