    My name is Eric and my wife is Monique. We are both Flight Nurses by trade, and both pilots of our Piper Comanche 260B airplane for fun!
    We spend time flying our airplane, towing our Toy hauler, riding dirt bikes and freezing our butts off snowmobiling…. and we have a dang good time doing it!!
    We have learned a lot about many facets of life that we hope to share with the world.
    After years of research and trial-and-error, I think I found the best jacket that fits my needs. Everyone's ideas of the perfect jacket is different but I believe I found mine.
    Here is an update regarding the jacket.

    Really good review - appreciate you taking the time to do it. Like everyone, I'm looking for a Unicorn. What do you think about using this jacket (with D30 armor in the shoulder, elbow and back) to ride 500 mile pavement day as a light touring jacket on an S10? Then the next day - pull the armor out, put on a chest protector and elbow pads and roost around on my WR450? This jacket/shell looks like it may be able to handle both.

      Short answer,
      ABSOLUTELY.
      Long answer,
      Thanks for the comment!! I honestly didn't think anyone would see this review! I think this jacket would work great with the D3O padding and for casual riding it would be great and really comfortable.
      This jacket has enough room, assuming you size accordingly, to run even the most robust armor underneath with plenty of room for movement and airflow. I think this jacket might be your unicorn, because I think I found mine.

      @@askmehowiknow3571 Perfect - Thanks for the reply. Leaving Friday on the S10 for 1200 miles out of Texas over to Sedona, AZ for 4 days of Dual Sporting - then bike on the S10 and another 1200 miles back to Texas. I like to travel light on the bike, so one jacket helps with that. Thanks again.

      Enjoy your ride and ALWAYS remember, "the adventure doesn't start until the first thing goes wrong"
      I pack light too! Maybe this will help you!
      My bother has a flight school in lubbock Tx, so I'm very partial to that area. advrider.com/f/threads/cdr-continental-divide-ride-ride-report.1085925/

    Planning on getting my first Klim jacket. I have 3 choices. Induction, marrakeshi and dakar jacket. Its very hot and humid here in my area. Whats the best jacket you think of the 3?

      @askmehowiknow3571  Před 3 lety +1

      Good question. I not sure because I only have ever wore the Dakar BUT from googling the jackets, I think the Dakar will be your best bet. It looks like it has the most ventilation out of the three.
      Depending on the type of riding, if I lived where it was hot and humid, I’d be inclined to wear a chest protector and a jersey and maybe some elbow protection just to maximize airflow.

    Thanks for the review, drz rider here too. Does it block the wind when zipped up so you can stay warm in 40s with a mid layer?

      So sorry for the delay. My notifications were off. Dont know why. And yes, the zipper does block the wind. In my opinion this jacket has everything you need to ride in 100 degree heat down to FREEZING levels with the appropriate layers on. Best said by one of my other followers, this is the Unicorn jacket for sure!!!!

    Do you have room in ur elbows? I'm 6 foot too but my rig includes chest protector, shoulders and elbow guards too. Not sure if i should get a large or an xl

    • @askmehowiknow3571
      @askmehowiknow3571  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey!!! I just went out and put my chest protector on and elbow pads on under the jacket. The arms are pretty tight with the elbow pads on. I use the fox titan elbow pads. I would be an unhappy rider wearing those elbow pads under the jacket. An XL may not provide the room you need. The fabric is dense on the elbows but not suitable for a hard crash on rocks. I have work jackets with built in elbow protection and they always seem to shift out of the way during a fall, so I’m not sure what the answer is. What type of riding do you normally do?

      @@askmehowiknow3571 Thanks for the speedy response! I plan on doing off-road oriented riding, I'm still young so I like to go fast and hard on the trails. Definitely will be needing ample room in the arms so I can have room to move... My current rig is the Alpinestars Bionic Action Jacket, it's just a tad bit bulky.
