  • We introduce the Camaro that we'll transform into an autocross machine, and it all starts with an engine swap - it gets a Low Buck Vortec. Then, the 25th Anniversary Camaro gets a suspension overhaul, and a fender package that gives it a track worthy look. It also gets a custom spoiler and an affordable splitter to make this muscle car ready for the track. New power, new suspension, and an aero package allow this 30 year old car grip the pavement.

LS swaps are dime a dozen today. Stock 305 running well can take a 100 shot of juice, any more you need to file rings. 25th Anniversary edition carved up...SMH, but they do weird builds.

By May when it was time to buy and build, the shed went up in price and so did the lumber for the base. It cost me an extra $200+. Not to mention in July, the house had open pipes that wasn't properly capped, hidden in the basement wall behind sheetrock and it backed up. That ended up being expensive as hell because the cost of materials skyrocketed. Almost $10grand to refinish the basement.

I imagine that engine could be rebuilt and modified to make ~200whp which would have livened the car up plenty for autocross and keep it daily drivable. Wider tires are a must with stiffer suspension, sure, but you don't need race car wide tires. Probably could have ran 265/40/R17, stayed in the profile of the car, and not have had to hack up the body. Plenty of lateral grip and contact patch for the car's footprint. Swap out the auto for a contemporary 5 speed with that 3.77 rear end and it would have breathed amazing new life into the car and let it keep its identity. It's not even a 3rd gen Camaro anymore with all the changes. Might as well just have sold it and bought a 5th or 6th gen instead.

Very NICE project. Somehow I am not subscribed to this channel.. Fixed that issue. Even hit the like button 3 times. That totally helps right?
Had an 87 RS and 88 IROQ. At the same time for a while there. Sold them in 2000. Man I miss those cars. Granted the RS was my let's learn how to work on cars by trial and error passion project. Let's just say it was in less than ideal shape if anyone after me wanted to use OEM printed directions. Looked amazing. Pulling anything apart or troubleshooting issues was probably a nice surprise for those who bought it from me... Kidding. I literally walked them through the car for a fair amount of time going over everything I did to it then asked are you sure you want to buy it? YEP. Off ya go.
I WILL HAVE ANOTHER 3RD GEN SLEAD! Love that body style.
There was build a while back where they went wide body only they added 2 inches in the front and I think 3 out back to the existing lines. Looked stock and didn't at the same time. It was all at the top of each body section so the midline of the car had a bit more of a shelf look. SERIOUSLY sexy. Gave her some hips. I know it's more expensive or time consuming but those rims and that white body would look EPIC like that.
Damnit. Somehow 3rd gen camaros for sale ended up in a search. Oh honey I have some flowers for you.......... What I can't just give you flowers now and again?
