    One thing I've been thinking about is where does the conviction of the Holy Ghost take place in stories like Mike's? If people of times past "felt" the Holy Ghost, then there's no stopping people from ANY worldview "feeling" their in the right. Wiccans, etc., would maybe say that they can "feel" the spirit world. Is it wrong to only use reasoning? Is the reasoning a form of conviction? I'm so curious.

    In reference to the small bit about Christian music, I'd love to see an in depth conversation about this. To me, there was always good Christian music, especially in the black/gospel circles. It seems a lot of negative views on Christian music are referencing either the mid/late-80's Integrity stuff or the cheezy CCM of the early/mid 2000's; both of which were small samples of Christian music which has spanned so many centuries, cultures, and genres.

      Miracles are present in Orthodox (both Eastern and Oriental) and in the Catholic Church. Oil from the tomb of St. Nicholas is a new one I just heard of -- and he is saint in both churches.
      But it is not surprising, because we each and all have the apostolic priesthood and the huge miracle, every Divine Liturgy, of partaking of the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus our Lord and Savior!!

  • @thecrisisfortruth
    @thecrisisfortruth Před 23 dny

    Michael has a number of things he believes as correct but then he goes off track in other thing. Michael is wrong about holding to paganisms like Christmas. You talk about loving truth yet you accept falsehood. We know how God felt about it from the old testament. many of Israel died because of accepting pagan festivals. Referencing Acts 17 is not a proof that we should celebrate a pagan festival. You have taken what Paul was saying out of context. The Bible tells the story as it happened, the story of the stoics and epicureans being added to scripture does not prove Christmas is ok, anymore than Solomon turning to paganism added to scripture makes paganism ok. Paul said in the past God has overlooked ignorance but he now commands all people everywhere to repent. That means repent of pagan practices as well. There is a scripture warning that comes to mind from Paul. "For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the wholesome teaching, but according to their own desires, they will surround themselves with teachers to have their ears tickled.  They will turn away from listening to the truth and give attention to false stories." 1 Tim 2:3-4
    Paul uses a Greek verb that can mean “to tickle; to scratch” but also “to feel an itching.” It occurs only here in the Christian Greek Scriptures. The word picture apparently conveys the idea of people who feel a yearning-which some translations liken to an itch-to hear what satisfies their selfish desires rather than what would help them to stay healthy in the faith. So they select teachers who tickle their ears, so to speak, by telling them what they want to hear. Because of the foretold apostasy, there would be an abundance of such self-serving disciples and false teachers; so Timothy’s work is urgent.-

    Heaven and hell!?
    C’mon man, we know these ideas doesn’t come from a loving God.
    How we suppose to love God, if God “hates sin” and think we must be saved from it by letting His son die? It’s rather people that hate sin, because they long to be perfect as their Heavenly Father is perfect.
    If you heard about that there was a war in heaven, then you can kind of tell that it’s not perfect.

      Oh so you parents teaching you discipline and to earn stuff by Hard work is not loving? In that case anything you own is mine "why"? Well because thats what I said. Actually guess what im gonna go get me some money free right now from the bank With having no job or way to actually earn it justly "why"? Well because I said so. You sound like a little kid right now. The same way of thinking you have right now is the same way Adam and eve thought, that by eating from the fruit of the tree of Good and evil the would become just like God. Understand that you or me arent the creator of his world universe you didnt put the hard work nor did I we arent the authors of this reality. Its the being who made it "why?"Thats for God to answer not me. The same way our parents punish us for our wrong doings because we said so is basically for our own good. Because in the long run it could affect us and guess what? God said dont eat from the tree and we ate anyways and God is so but just so loving he FORGIVES US by sending hes son to SUFFER and DIE thanks to our disobedience and now we have Gods trust to go get to infinite happiness and all the good of above, "how?" By just trusting him....by just following hes foot steps like the father he is. Just put that in mind brother... is that really not loving? Did hes suffering and death really mean nothing to you? Does he really need to put you above him so you can just get a inch of your trust? Theres nothing wrong with having doubts and being skeptical. But are you really going to distrust your own parents the rest of your life? Sometimes in life the people in our life who say we are wrong dont do it for a bad cause...instead.... its cuz they dont want you to be in a bad situation for your own well being. Not everyone is good but...not everyone has a heart of stone... Jesús is the first example of that and we can be like him each Day... That right there friend is the beauty of the religión called. 💫❤Christianity❤💫

      @@jesusirizarryrodriguez835 Jesus didn’t save anyone by dying on the cross. Rather He may have saved people by revealing God’s true love to them, even while He was on the cross; He shown mercy and compassion to His mortal enemies, while they mocked and ridiculed Jesus on the cross, said He; “Lord, forgive them for they know not what they do.”
      And it’s this divine mercy and compassion, which people can freely reject, but if they accept, they also take trust in God.
      We shouldn’t accept atonement, that was already imposed upon us, because then we can only get to choose to respond. This is also anti-Free Will and goes against God’s nature, who is Free Willed Himself in the Absolute sense.
