Some team ran eliptigo bikes in the local race and smashed the 40 mi, esp in the uphills. It’s not aero but it’s got recumbent wheels and the riders stand all the time so they can really leverage those treadle arms.
That would be very cool to have the added safety features of a self guided bike.
Denny bikes didn't end up going into production and should leave it out as it's a proto

The google self driving bike is an April fools day joke from google. It's not possible to make a bike that small balance properly. Plus the video said it's only available on April 1st.

On that twicycle you can see the brake cable touching the front chain which will eventually wear out the cable housing down to the metal cables.plus that chain in front looks kinda sketchy

It was clear to anyone that the April fool model was impossible.
for that principle to work you would see quite a lot more bulk on the bike.
either a heavy high rpm fly wheel or a weight on the bars that can swing left to right to keep balance

I came to see the one in the thumbnail picture with the odd shaped front wheel and all I got was garbage products of mal-investment.
I see a huge future for hybrid electric bicycles but lithium mining is worse than the advantage of that. I did a a extensive a report on a lithium mining which is worth studying.
The socio-economic impact and pollution does not justify Cobalt and lithium mining.

@@flukedust22 seriously, around here I constantly see people texting on bikes while riding and not just in residential areas. I love riding my bike or motorcycle while listening to music or using the phone over my handsfree bluetooth helmet but I would never look at a screen while riding on two wheels.

Problem with these bikes is the PRICE. They're so unbelievably expensive that normal people can't afford them. I thumbed this video down for it's clickbait thumbnail.
The problem with these bikes is that they don't match the thumbnail.
Thumb down does nothing, only reporting can make a difference.

Unfortunately Oval is a brand name of bicycle wheels so no luck finding info on a bike with an oval shaped front wheel.

That being said, the video shows a fairly standard looking chainring/cassette drivetrain for the front wheel drive, so it's very unlikely that you'd get unusual losses there. The point still stands therefore that expending 33% more calories means around 33% extra power to the wheels. Assuming of course the lungs and heart can keep up with the additional demand ;)
I live on the top floor, bicycles are heavy, I'm getting older but can still climb stairs. Are there any stair climbing bikes out there?
I don't know of any, but you can buy a light aluminum-frame road or hybrid bike that will be much easier to carry. I purchased a used Schwinn last year and can carry it up the stairs with one arm, and mine is lightweight steel which is heavier than aluminum (but I am 30 so that helps). Also there are folding commuter bikes that have small frames, but I don't know how they are on weight since I've never used one.
The light weight also makes the bike much more fun to ride as well, since you'll be able to go faster and farther. I went from struggling to ride 2 miles to class on a Walmart mountain bike to being able to commute 5 miles to work each way on a road bike.
If you’ve got a few thousand dollars to burn, you can pick up a carbon fiber bike that’s under 14 pounds. (under 10lb if you’re willing to spend as much as you might for a new car...)
