Im from the Netherlands, and here it seems there are some more differences. The S10 is sold with the slower Exynos processor, while the S10 Lite is sold with a more powerful Snapdragon processor (Outside of Europe all samsung phones have Snapdragons i think). Also, the S10 lite was released a year later than the S10, wich means it was launched with android 10 installed. That means it will receive more updates until 2022, while the S10 and S10+ started with android 9 and update until 2021. So for me it would seem the S10 Lite is the better choice, the downsides are that it costs about as much as the S10 but has no headphone jack and no IP68 waterproof mark.
It's the same processor situation here, sorry if I didn't mention that! It's not quite as simple as Snapdragon being more powerful than Exynos, each has its strengths, but I do agree that the Snap is better (especially on battery life). Very good point on software though! I didn't really consider it since both have Android 10 now anyway, but yeah the Lite will get updates for longer which is a definite advantage - Dom
If you really insist on the headphone jack because you've got some cool headphones with that jack, you could get an adapter for the s10 lite. Or just get the Samsung galaxy buds with it.
@@BenjaminLee2009 im not sure how worth is that. I made a mistake and bought the lite, it's okish, it certainly has a mid-range feel and sound sucks, it absolutely lacks depth. The only plus is the battery life, but that's about it. If you want a premium feel and are willing to compromise on the battery, s10 is better.

I bought the S10 lite. I bought it because of all the great reviews about the cameras. Now with an update it even has 4k 60fps video that is amazing. I wouldn't even think about the other S10 phones compared to this one.
I'm probably going for the lite. So much more practical Update: Picked one up yesterday. It's fantastic and I've already forgotten about the s10 and s10+.

Used A9 Pro (2016) until I dropped it yesterday. Worked smoothly for more than 3 years, super quality build for a mid range phone. Gorgeous display, full body glass protection, aluminium back panel, the brick won't shatter!
I'm considering the s10 lite as I'm going to get a contract phone and is a much better value and deal imho than the s10 or s10+. I can easily live with the differences and that battery is so much bigger than the s10's.
Plastic is perfectly fine for wireless charging. The active series, higher Nokia Lumia series were all plastic backed/bodied. I'd say it's all about stripping features down for "cheaper" price. I just hate that even though the phone is not water resistant it's still missing the headphone jack. Overall a great comparison!
I got the s10 lite, my dad got the s10, and my aunt got the s10+. We tried comparing all aspects of the phone and each phone is better depending on what you want it for. If you wanted a new but more old fashioned phone, you'd go for the 10. If you wanted battery life and gaming, you'd go for the 10 lite. If you wanted a mix of both, you'd go for the 10+. I like a mix of both, but I just thought the s10 lite was more comfortable for me because I have big hands. I had a hand me down j7 2015 and it was uncomfortable to use, especially since I had it for almost 3 years. The s10 lite was a great change and I'd recommend that I've the s10

The s10 on amazon costs atm (BRAND NEW) around 560€ and the s10 lite around 500€. I would for sure go for the s10 since it has a headphone jack, which is important for me.
I honestly would prefer the lite. First I like the larger screen and a 1080P AMOLED Panel on 6.7 inch screen still looks really good. Second battery is much bigger on the lite therefore it will generally last longer and have a longer cycle count before it starts to loose charge capacity. Third I like the hole punch to be in the the top center of the screen like the lite has it. Never been a fan of the camera being on corners that is just my personal taste of course. And lastly the lite design matches more more the current samsung phones which won't make you feel that you are using something old. If you all know what I mean lol. Hopefully this helps anyone who is on the fence between the two
Do you like it a lot? I think I'm convinced. I'm currently using a Note 8 and I think it's time for an upgrade. The S20 is beyond my budget anyways. The S10+ looks gorgeous and I love how the Prism White one matches with the Cloud Blue Galaxy Buds+.

With note 10 lite being the best. Not only does it have a headphone jack like the a71 and unlike the s10 lite, it also has an S-pen. Yes. THE S-Pen you'd normally find on a very expensive note device. No other phones with styluses is quite like it. Not the LG Stylo 4 and 5, or that new Moto G Stylus. Only downside? It's using an older Exynos chip courtesy of Samsung. I could be wrong but I believeits a Note 9 Exynos chip. If you don't game a lot and only use it for social media, CZcams, netflix and the like, note 10 lite would do just fine.

Being able to charge the phone quicker is nice, but if you use it constantly then the battery life will suffer. There's no way around that. So the "old" S10 models with 15W charging will need to be done overnight, but you will get more mileage out of the non-replaceable battery. I prefer to keep my phones at least 5 years and with 5G being added to the newest phones, which I do not want, I will stick with the older models as long as they are available. I also like that the factory unlocked S10+ works on any carrier, GSM and CDMA...surprisingly hard to find phones that work on all bands and not just one or the other.
So what would you recommend between S10 lite and samsung A80 i recently dropped bymistake a S8 galaxy from the window 9 floors down. Im researching for a good phone under 32k

I tried offering a cheeky £250 which they obviously refused .... before I could up my offer they sent the £280 offer... I jumped on it!! I honestly cannot find anything lite about this phone... okay not a glass back.. no wireless charging or stereo speakers but the camera is superb and the screen is gorgeous...
Got the Lite based on the Vodafone contract, plus I'm eligible for staff discount with my employer being on their list. So I have unlimited data on max speed, all in for under £40 a month, contract value was the only decider, otherwise I would've gone for the S10 with 3,5mm jack, smaller handset, wireless charging and IP rating (I'll just have to get used to bluetooth ear buds I guess). Just waiting for my official Samsung soft case and screen/camera lens protectors from Amazon before I switch the sim over.
Well that was utterly useless! :D Because I reached the exact same conclusion. Lite > s10+ clearly ... BUT... normal s10 is now about 50-70euros CHEAPER than lite almost everywhere. And then you're just confused how lite version is more expensive than normal, but then again the lite came out so much later, it has alot of modern solutions.. but then again, the overall quality of original is still better... but then again, lite has bigger camera and screen.. but then again, normal s10 has better screen resolution and might even have better camera, even though lite camera has other perks over s10. And then there's the whole battery situation.... just ARGH.
Still unsure what to go for? I currently have the S9 and want to upgrade, love the review of these phones, I need water resistance though as do a lot of outdoor live streaming from the phone.
I don't get why they call this an s10 lite. They don't share the same design, it doesn't come with the same processor (unless you live in the US). It has less RAM (in a lot of markets), lower resolution screen, lacks headphone jack and water proofing or wireless charging, has a plastic construction. Even the battery sizes are different... the only thing they seem to have in common is the screen and maybe slightly better cameras. This phone and the Note 10 lite confuse me 😕 For my market (Africa) this phone really sucks coz it feels like you pay more and get less in almost every way (they don't sell the 8Gb variant in this market). To make matters worse, they are no longer selling the s10 in most official Samsung shops, so good luck getting an older one with a warranty.
As long as your not swimming with it, it survives a minute or two under water. There are videos on yt that prove it. I think they just didnt pay for it to be certified.
I really like the S10+ and thats what I reallyw want but the S10 Lite is also attractive... But the reason why I'm hooking off the S10 Lite is because of having no IP rating, slow charger, no curved screen, a little bit bad specs about the screen... But I don't know if I should go for the S10+ because I think the S10+ is getting a bit old but is in some ways better then the Lite... PLZ HELP GUYS!!??
Overall S10+ is better, its not much worse than s20(well screen is) and i dont think that it looks old. For me S10+ is about maximum size, lite would be way too big for me and still some ways worse than S10+
I took the S10 Lite as in Switzerland the S10 as well The S20 are distibuted wicht the Exynos Processors - The S10 Lite got the Snapdragon 855. Further the new 3 Year OS upgrasde from the S10 Lite that is starting at Version 10 gives me an extra year to use this device.
I have had the s10+ since release and both the front screen and rear camera lens have cracked from minimal contact, front cracked via my car key and no idea how rear lens cracked so I disagree with you in regards to gorilla glass strength.. I will be getting the lite once I’ve sold the plus! These flagship models are only status buys, not much difference compared to mid range.. one UI across the range makes it a no brainier really!
Oh damn that's very unlucky! I mean Gorilla Glass is obviously tougher than regular glass, but yeah it's far from indestructible, so I would probably rate the Lite better for durability given the plastic casing. Get a screen protector too though! - Dom
I have an samsung galaxy core prime its 5 years old and nearly dying. There are just so many phones out there its very confusing, especially with different kind of series which only contain small differences. I hate the need to buy a new phone, not just because of this but also having to transfer all pics and important stuff to the other phone. But in the end samsung galaxy s10 lite sounds like a good phone for me for the next (hopefully) 5+ years. Thanks for making my final decision!
I feel it's the s10 for me. As a music technology student I need a headphone jack at the drop of a hat, and the fact that it's less expensive, water resistant and higher resolution are bonuses!

You are so wrong! as so many people, I don't know where the pricing was shown to be over $550 or in your case 579 but when this phone came out six months ago I got mine for $400 on eBay brand-new-sealed in the box unlocked... Now, today you can buy them for $379 and you cannot buy an S10 S10 Plus or S10 E for anywhere near that. ( the reason it all gets me so hot under the collar is because this phone has a giant 6.7 inch screen and is so bright! and so fast! that it's hard to believe the specs are even correct! if you try one for a day and you try any of the S10 or s20 this phone holds its own or even surpasses the others, it's unbelievable! And with all of this one plus Nordcramp phone coming out which was supposed to be buy OnePlus has own video trailer under $400 you cannot get one of those for under $550-600 unless you get it from T-Mobile or some place that carries OnePlus phones and then you're going to be roped into a contract so you might as well just go for the one plus 8 pro... This "Nord" phone makes no sense and the name is so stupid, hey what kind of phone do you have I have a "Nord" oh. I would rather keep my S10 light and wish they would have named it something else because it's not anything to do with an S10 and it has nothing to do with being a light so I don't get it as many reviewers don't. And when you think about the Note Lite ugh $379 right now sealed in the box on eBay unlocked no-contract GSM phone and granted they put the exynos processor in it but it still works great and it's a note it's a note it's a Samsung Note phone for under $400 brand new! they definitely put these light phones in the wrong category they should have just came out with a new letter. I have used both. The s10+ is much better. Battery lasts longer and screen is so much better. The phone feels better in hands but the lite just looks amazing to me. Also no IP certification and that is bad. For the price its better to get a s10+

I always loved the slippy glass feel of my samsung. I loved it *sooo* much and it was *soooo* so slippy I had to cover it up with a cheap crappy plastic case. I took the crappy plastic case off once. It slipped out of my hand (cuz its *soooo* slippy) - hit the floor and the back crazed into a thousand fragments. Fortunately I was able to put the crappy plastic case back on and you would not now notice the difference. What a stupid world of pointless crappy design aesthetics we live in

With note 10 lite being the best. Not only does it have a headphone jack like the a71 and unlike the s10 lite, it also has an S-pen. Yes. THE S-Pen you'd normally find on a very expensive note device. No other phones with styluses is quite like it. Not the LG Stylo 4 and 5, or that new Moto G Stylus. Only downside? It's using an older Exynos chip courtesy of Samsung. I could be wrong but I believeits a Note 9 Exynos chip. If you don't game a lot and only use it for social media, CZcams, netflix and the like, note 10 lite would do just fine.
There was a sudden sale at Amazon $450 so I jumped before reviews. Thanks for letting me know there is no telephoto as this may be a deal breaker. Too Bad
Being able to charge the phone quicker is nice, but if you use it constantly then the battery life will suffer. There's no way around that. So the "old" S10 models with 15W charging will need to be done overnight, but you will get more mileage out of the non-replaceable battery. I prefer to keep my phones at least 5 years and with 5G being added to the newest phones, which I do not want, I will stick with the older models as long as they are available. I also like that the factory unlocked S10+ works on any carrier, GSM and CDMA...surprisingly hard to find phones that work on all bands and not just one or the other.
S10 doesn't have all 12mp cameras on back ulTra wide is 16 mp camera.
Also s10 plus dual camera isn't wide angle camera, its just a depth sensor.

I tried offering a cheeky £250 which they obviously refused .... before I could up my offer they sent the £280 offer... I jumped on it!! I honestly cannot find anything lite about this phone... okay not a glass back.. no wireless charging or stereo speakers but the camera is superb and the screen is gorgeous...

Got the Lite based on the Vodafone contract, plus I'm eligible for staff discount with my employer being on their list. So I have unlimited data on max speed, all in for under £40 a month, contract value was the only decider, otherwise I would've gone for the S10 with 3,5mm jack, smaller handset, wireless charging and IP rating (I'll just have to get used to bluetooth ear buds I guess). Just waiting for my official Samsung soft case and screen/camera lens protectors from Amazon before I switch the sim over.
Screen resolution is a big deal for me to be mentioned and explained
S10+ has best resolution with AMOLED infinite screen. S10 lite is only HD with LCD I believe

Well that was utterly useless! :D Because I reached the exact same conclusion. Lite > s10+ clearly ... BUT... normal s10 is now about 50-70euros CHEAPER than lite almost everywhere. And then you're just confused how lite version is more expensive than normal, but then again the lite came out so much later, it has alot of modern solutions.. but then again, the overall quality of original is still better... but then again, lite has bigger camera and screen.. but then again, normal s10 has better screen resolution and might even have better camera, even though lite camera has other perks over s10. And then there's the whole battery situation.... just ARGH.

I don't get why they call this an s10 lite. They don't share the same design, it doesn't come with the same processor (unless you live in the US). It has less RAM (in a lot of markets), lower resolution screen, lacks headphone jack and water proofing or wireless charging, has a plastic construction. Even the battery sizes are different... the only thing they seem to have in common is the screen and maybe slightly better cameras. This phone and the Note 10 lite confuse me 😕
For my market (Africa) this phone really sucks coz it feels like you pay more and get less in almost every way (they don't sell the 8Gb variant in this market). To make matters worse, they are no longer selling the s10 in most official Samsung shops, so good luck getting an older one with a warranty.
I bought an s10 plus and I didn't regret it it feels nice on my hand and it's works perfectly fine for me and great video i like it 👌

As long as your not swimming with it, it survives a minute or two under water. There are videos on yt that prove it. I think they just didnt pay for it to be certified.

Overall S10+ is better, its not much worse than s20(well screen is) and i dont think that it looks old. For me S10+ is about maximum size, lite would be way too big for me and still some ways worse than S10+
I prefer the dual selfie camera, headphone jack and stereo speakers of the S10 plus.

I took the S10 Lite as in Switzerland the S10 as well The S20 are distibuted wicht the Exynos Processors - The S10 Lite got the Snapdragon 855.
Further the new 3 Year OS upgrasde from the S10 Lite that is starting at Version 10 gives me an extra year to use this device.

I have had the s10+ since release and both the front screen and rear camera lens have cracked from minimal contact, front cracked via my car key and no idea how rear lens cracked so I disagree with you in regards to gorilla glass strength.. I will be getting the lite once I’ve sold the plus! These flagship models are only status buys, not much difference compared to mid range.. one UI across the range makes it a no brainier really!
Oh damn that's very unlucky! I mean Gorilla Glass is obviously tougher than regular glass, but yeah it's far from indestructible, so I would probably rate the Lite better for durability given the plastic casing. Get a screen protector too though! - Dom

I have an samsung galaxy core prime its 5 years old and nearly dying. There are just so many phones out there its very confusing, especially with different kind of series which only contain small differences. I hate the need to buy a new phone, not just because of this but also having to transfer all pics and important stuff to the other phone. But in the end samsung galaxy s10 lite sounds like a good phone for me for the next (hopefully) 5+ years. Thanks for making my final decision!
I feel it's the s10 for me. As a music technology student I need a headphone jack at the drop of a hat, and the fact that it's less expensive, water resistant and higher resolution are bonuses!
The s10 lite is now more cheaper for over £200 pounds and there's a wireless charging adapter for it
only things that puts me off the lite is how big it is and its got no ip rating..

You are so wrong! as so many people, I don't know where the pricing was shown to be over $550 or in your case 579 but when this phone came out six months ago I got mine for $400 on eBay brand-new-sealed in the box unlocked... Now, today you can buy them for $379 and you cannot buy an S10 S10 Plus or S10 E for anywhere near that.

the reason it all gets me so hot under the collar is because this phone has a giant 6.7 inch screen and is so bright! and so fast! that it's hard to believe the specs are even correct! if you try one for a day and you try any of the S10 or s20 this phone holds its own or even surpasses the others, it's unbelievable!
And with all of this one plus Nordcramp phone coming out which was supposed to be buy OnePlus has own video trailer under $400 you cannot get one of those for under $550-600
unless you get it from T-Mobile or some place that carries OnePlus phones and then you're going to be roped into a contract so you might as well just go for the one plus 8 pro... This "Nord" phone makes no sense and the name is so stupid, hey what kind of phone do you have I have a "Nord" oh. I would rather keep my S10 light and wish they would have named it something else because it's not anything to do with an S10 and it has nothing to do with being a light so I don't get it as many reviewers don't. And when you think about the Note Lite ugh $379 right now sealed in the box on eBay unlocked no-contract GSM phone and granted they put the exynos processor in it but it still works great and it's a note it's a note it's a Samsung Note phone for under $400 brand new!

No wireless charging because of the plastic? You sure? Nexus 5, galaxy s4, s5, LG G4 and I could go on... Probable reason is to shave off cost of manufacturing rather than it is a plastic.

I have used both. The s10+ is much better. Battery lasts longer and screen is so much better. The phone feels better in hands but the lite just looks amazing to me. Also no IP certification and that is bad. For the price its better to get a s10+

I went for the s10, plus and the camera is absolutely shocking. The worst camera I ever had in a phone for many years. Will be sending back
I always loved the slippy glass feel of my samsung. I loved it *sooo* much and it was *soooo* so slippy I had to cover it up with a cheap crappy plastic case.
I took the crappy plastic case off once. It slipped out of my hand (cuz its *soooo* slippy) - hit the floor and the back crazed into a thousand fragments. Fortunately I was able to put the crappy plastic case back on and you would not now notice the difference.
