"Wild Man" is the fourth track from Kate's 10th studio album 50 Words For Snow - released on 21st November 2011 and was also released as a digital single on 11th October in the same year.

The beginning reminds me of David Bowie. This is the first time I'm hearing this song. It's just pulling me in deep. Beauty.

I was so ill, it was all i could do to even listen to music. the bare trees outside and 50 Words For Snow on the headphones. Kate to the rescue in my life. Again! How many times is that? A complex song of industrial culture's demise. 'if a mountain's there, climb it", British empire 'will to power' and the haunting environmental apocalypse summed up in the "run away" coda. So stunning I can only play this album between Samhain and the winter Solstice.
This was wonderful - only wish it would be the full 7 minute song! So great to see Kate in another video! And, the LP is simply pure brillance ~ thank you Kate!

I think the trouble is Kate is such a perfectionist. She always has been. She was not one to perform live. I just accept it as part of her genius. Many extremely talented people have issues like that. Kate should do what she feels is best. She never made the songs or music WE wanted, she followed her own muse.
I agree. She just wanted to tell her story, and people back then (and still now) wanted REAL performers.

Wonderful. This fits the music so well. Great animation. Can't wait to see the other animations that they've been working on. And have to agree with another comment on here - a DVD of all the animations would be a very welcome idea.

Kate needs to assume her middle age beauty, the image of the willowy lycra clad impossibly young Kate is pervasive to this day we still see old shots on new interviews. But I for one want to enjoy Kate in her blooming middle age so come on girl ditch the camouflage, you are still a beautiful creature. :)

i love the face with snow all over it coming out of the white, I think it i sjust perfect amount of blurry...she is a perfect artist....You all do realize she is singing about Men hunting for BIgfoot as a metaphor, yea? hence that weird footprint they show...but its yes, probably the world and it's "sophistication"(london spiky tower) trying to hunt down the wold man in all of us...do we surrender to the world....I surrender to Christ and God myself, also in defiance of the evil world...
Kate has said that this song is literally about the “Yeti” being misunderstood and covering its tracks, so hunters don’t go hunting it.

I think what RideHanna was trying to say was along the same lines as to what you were saying. Kate rarely shows herself anymore. She barely does any photoshoots. She doesn't appear on her album covers. And hasn't appeared in many of her music videos lately. And in this one, she's donning covering winter gear (which suits the video). But I think he/she was trying to convey that she shouldn't be afraid to show herself in her older age. That's how I took it, anyway.
Love this video ! Could have been a little less blurry without losing its mysterious appeal, but it's brilliant nonetheless. Makes long for snow !
I'm in love with this song and can't wait for the rest of the album to be released this week. Kate is such a great inspiration and a true star with actual talent and beauty.

hearing this song with the images of the snow has made me realise how snowy the music actually is. sort of a muffled soft sound to the verse. like the bass drum is snow falling.

Earlier this evening, I had an idea for this video. Simple but effective: Kate has closed eyes when not singing - in ohter words, she opens her eyes to camera when singing, but to great effect. Does anyone else understand? Closed eyes to camera when music plays, then work the eyes when the vocals play. Hope I don't sound like a prick... I 've been a KB fan since 78 BC...
This snippet makes me think there will be an upcoming DVD release with the full version, along with other visuals. Clever marketing really, if the full version was released at the time of the single release, the dvd wouldnt sell as well. Hmmmmmmmm I hope so.

No offense, Ridehanna. But not sure to what you are referring. I find Ms Bush attractive in all her phases, and I'm beginning to think it's because of what comes from within and what she's achieved artistically, rather than what's on the surface. My wife and I are showing quite a lot of time's damage, but I still see the dazzling white light of her integrity that helped draw me to her in the first place. Beauty is skin-deep. It's nice, but it's not everything.

Kate’s a very private, shy and insecure person. That may be why. I doubt it’s because of the way she looks.

@@M15Guys It’s ok. Don’t worry. Kate did say though that she was incredibly nervous before and during every show of the “Before The Dawn” residency. I respect Kate and love her music even if she doesn’t really perform live. I’m a big Kate fan too. As a musician/songwriter she’s one of my biggest influences.
