- My Dad gave me this camera when I was about 12 years old. He had just built a darkroom in our basement, and I was taking an interest in the art. I fell in love with photography and that's led me down the path of being an artist ever since. Here's a look at the camera and a little surprise along the way!
Point and shoot? Hardly. Fully manual? Yes. Photographer makes all the choices. I've got two of these and they are the fun way to do photography.
Not point-and-shoot, but I catch your drift.;)
hahaha thanks for catching the drift ;)
Love how the camera looks, really a Classic.. ..
"point and shoot" LOL
haha ya know when words just fall out of your mouth and you don't realize till later *face palm* hahaha
Can't beat a Pentax.
Olympus OM series is a great competitor!
Love mine! I got it for Christmas when I was 12 and I’m in my 40’s now and love to rediscover it every couple years! Just dug it out and getting ready to buy some xtras I can afford now that I’m grown up lol…. I’m scouring CZcams now looking for ideas, so far I’m thinking definitely a 28mm lens, maybe a macro tub and adapter
Not really a point n shoot lol but cool camera, I also have one!
haha truth - words are hard haha and nice! It's a great camera!
I have the same one my it was my moms from when she was in the college
I can't wait to see!!
I’ll post an update soon!
where's the surprise at the end?...
It looks like your shutters partially cocked. Wind it on and fire the shutters. When storing those old cameras it is best to store them uncocked.
WAY TO GO!!! Love my Pentax so much that I got a tattoo of one on my arm!
Great manual camera! But try Olympus OM-4Ti, that is an amazing camera! As for Pentax, I would go for K2.
Point and shoot... With this as first impression, seems the right person to follow and learn
I just picked one up for a road trip in a few weeks
How was it
She seems like a real AIR HEAD
How much does the camera cost and where can I buy it?
About $200 used.
Get a Pentax KX instead, better in everyway.
The Pentax KX is a better camera and similar price. Lot more features.
If you left a tail when winding the film, you'd make your life easier in the darkroom.
Point-and-shoot? Ah, Gen Z...
What does that have to do with any of this?😅 i was born 2000 and even i know it's aan SLR.
Boomers...

Over rated, over priced...many better SLRs to learn on...
How are they overpriced? Its a great easy starting camera. Much simpler than some models.
@@zachsowersfilmandphoto6659 Agree, easy starting camera and simple to use. That's why many students used them...basic and easy to learn the basics of photography with. That's not in dispute. But it's with that in mind that I would ask why are they up to twice the price of other cameras in the used market in similar condition and age such as the MX or OM10 that have more features, similar reliability and at least the same build quality, if not better? Makes zero sense.

It’s a fully mechanical camera.
Many of us prefer that for a lifetime of reliability.
I have a Pentax k1000 that was handed down to me. However but less expensive camera I would recommend for beginners is the Olympus om 2000. That is not really an Olympus camera but it can use the OM Mount lenses and like the Pentax k1000 it is still functional without the light meter battery.
Overpriced. What were you told the purchasing price is for it? 🤔 I guess it can depend on where you are trying purchase it from.
Point and shoot? Ahhahaha
