great vid. Thanks.
Love the ft planes...new subscriber...great builds..stay safe..happy flying
Awesome!!! Thanks for the support!
I have built a couple as well, the only problem I get with any of the single surface wings is they always end up with a slight twist, but they do fly well.
Yeah, none of these planes end up perfect, it’s all about how much time and effort you put into it, i’ve found after you achieve around 80 percent build quality it flies about the same as 100 percent, and everything can be trimmed after all.
Here 1806 motorn is not available. Can we use 2205 2300kv motor(2s for slow flyer and 3s for this model)?
Hi! Cool video! Which one is easier to fly? The mini or the simple scout?
Really depends, I'd say all around the Simple scout is better for beginners, flies more predictably with 4 channel control and is just a better starting point in my opinion. the mini is a little bit better for tighter spaces but is a little less manuverable with only 3ch control so I can't recommend it as much.
Another Great video Noah! I also built this one too. Did what I could to save weight, and still came in at 234 grams w/out the landing gear (Russian foam board). Mind my asking how much your's weighs?
Thank you! I'm sitting at 180g without the battery, 247g with the battery and some added noseweight attached to the battery. Happy Flying!
Nice build, I will try this. What is the black tape you're using for the wings and what's on the turtle deck?
Its just duct tape! Helps keep the leading edge from getting so beat up easily. Turtle deck is made from posterboard.
@@CustomFPV Thanks for that info :)
I gave a thumbs up but really would have liked to see how you reinforced the wing. Do you have another video, on another build, that shows that?
Of course! I presume you mean with the black tape on the leading edge. That is simply duct tape put on the leading edge to increase durablility. It works wonders! I will make a video soon about it. Thanks for watching!
@@CustomFPV Ref: Comment at ~1:51... Yeah, I didn't even pick up on the black tape. It is obvious now but when first viewing the video I just saw it as what I thought was a cool paint job. Thanks.
Bill K No problem. It’s a quick and easy mod that easily doubles the lifespan of these planes. Thanks for watching!
What receiver and transmitter did you use? I’m having trouble finding a combination that’s compatible with this plane.
Most anything will work. At the time of filming I was using an spektrum AR6210 and a dx6e, now I switched the radio to a tx16s from radiomaster. most all receivers fit fine.
try the flysky.
could this work with 4s 1300mah batteries with different motor as those are the only ones I have for my quad? Asking for larger version for my first plane
probably not. the mini scout runs off of a typical 700-800mah 2s pack, so a 4s 1300 would not only double the voltage, but double the size. The packs I run are only a few bucks from HK, so no worries. This plane is pretty small, and even with an 1806 2300kv on 2s this has loads of power. Hope this helps.
CustomRCMods thanks a lot. subscribed and followed.
Hi, nice video. Which foam did you use? And how thick is it?
Its Adam’s Readi Board, found at dollar tree. It’s the lightest stuff around. 3/16 inch thick.
Thanks, I'm going to build this to. Do you think that it will fly with a 3s 850mah battery?
Yeah, but all that power is not necessary, and you will have a harder time mounting the battery. It may even be too fast :)
Okay, thank you for your answers, they have helped me a lot :)
No problem :)
Do you have a flight vid of this one?
Yeah! quite a few. check the “flight videos” playlist
How about trying a mini mustang?
김민성 랄 That’s next on the build list!
1300mah 3s and 9g servos too much?
9g servos are doable, you will need about an 850 2s pack for this plane, 1300 3s is far too large unfortunately.
