- This is one of the first Volvo B7RLE tri-axle buses, and it's also one of the first with Volvo's 8900 body. I think the design of the front-end is a big mistake, but the rest of the bus looks good. This demobus has got the new ZF Ecolife gearbox, and together with the newest version of the 7 liter Volvo/Deutz engine, this bus is the most fuel efficient Volvo bus ever. unfortunately this is also a very quiet bus, so this video is not for the sound of a roaring engine and noisy gearbox .:(
I saw them a lot in Tel Aviv. I was surprised, how good they perform :)
If that's the D7C with a ZF Ecolife 6HP554-N gearbox, then we have them as the standard Volvo B7RLE Euro 4.
Great video. Is the driving position cramped with 2 instrument pods? I drive B9TLs and B7TLs with Wright double decker bodies in Scotland, UK, and we only have one instrument pod on the right hand side. Probably because our company doesn't add many options to our buses! Is that an FM radio you have above the windscreen? That's a great idea, but not many UK bus companies use them, they say it's dangerous!
No howling from the Ecolife unlike the Ecomat
Thanks for answering!
Lot of these in Tampere, Finland.
Oma ennätykseni on 45:n vauhdista viisi vaihdetta alaspäin mäkeen noustessa.
It's a standard Mobitec unit, so you press the blue button and then choose your destination of choice.
If that had zf ecomat just saying if it did then the bus would be very loud or something
@KimB10M I did, but I'm still puzzled because B7RLE do not come in tri-axle formation.... Well, thx for the confirmation :)
with this transmission, back massage is included in every trip :-/
The prefer the I-shift variant that we have where i live
The ZF Ecolife is smooth, but the I-shift AMT is a lot faster
If the B7RLE's that operate the 510 route to Stansted come back on Greenline's route 724 then I'll do a video of 1 of them
This bus has poor load distribution between the left and right axles right? When loaded, without standing passengers, the left side would be heavier since there are way more seats on the left than on the right.
how do you set the destination number with that unit next to the sterring wheel"
ok thanks, but what are all the buttons there for?
Do you know if it's also more fuel efficient than the B5 Hybrid?
hey hello nice driving i wanna drive with that bus and they making that bus in omsi the bus simulator but can you give me tht blinker sound :) plz
Are u sure that this is a B7RLE? Because B7RLE comes only in a 4x2 form..
This bus is the first of its kind. 6x2 axle with the Deutz engine.
Shifting so early, these 7-liter aren't the fastest or fuel efficiant buses..
If this had a Voith or Allison, it would redline then shift
@@ag6371 Absolutely
We got our 2013 Volvo 8900 B7 adjusted recently, and it helped a bit actually. But the ZF Ecomat is not nice.... 😐
