My thoughts on Galactica’s theme in forbidden valley makes sense 🤯
As nemesis is themed as a creature from a different dimension, Galactica might be the space craft that was built to try to go to the dimension that nemesis came from to try to find more about the creature, I think that might be the reason why Galactica hasn’t been rethemed as if the present day, my Friday there (aughust 26th) was my first go on Galactica, twice! Loved it although I won’t get used to being hung in the air I prefer the restraints of the smiler and oblivion.
What I do want to see for another coaster is for Th13teen to have more out buildings in the forest area, maybe a tunnel that the train goes through as it goes down the first drop, that would be awesome, plus the trim brake taken of the first drop because it kind of ruins the speed that it could’ve had.
Alton towers is my second home, the smiler is my roller coaster husband and although the retro squad is there, The Smiler and Th13teen’s lack of theming, it is still a great place to go, and Ill miss the classic nemesis roar from next year to my grave 😂
the forbidden valley comment was unreal, i would have never thought of anything like that. super smart!
Agreed re Air/Galactica... Would be great to Re-paint the track in the off-season to fit in with the refurbed Nemesis - maybe a few rocky out-crops or "tentacles" coming out the ground etc :)
It’s looking in a state now there hasn’t even been a pressure wash which is annoying it doesn’t fit in with forbidden valley at all
Closing Nemesis will be a hit for the park. I must go down near the end of the season while I can.

@@jameswatkins3375 yeah I went to Alton Towers on Monday (I live in Blackpool) and found it to be closed (Wickerman was still closed as well but apparently has reopened today).
Always an insightful vlog! 🥰 Totally agree I would love to see the waterfalls come back to Nemesis but obviously environmentally friendly! Was iconic for the ride when I was younger
I wish nothing but the best for this park. They have an excellent coaster lineup but they really lack when it comes to supporting rides. Here's hoping they invest in their current dark rides and maybe add a couple more and also get some permanent flat rides.
I wish duel wouldn't stop having broken theming/ targets the time, it's pretty annoying and it can take days or even weeks before they're fixed.. Also, I have recently been on smiler and I loved it! Way better than I thought it was going to be.
Hex only lasted a day and a half now it’s back closed. They probably heard the comments about everyone saying about the clicking noise.

Feels like Alton Towers is on a downward spiral, Not saying Wickerman man is shut is terrible and Wickerman a bit disappointing in the end. Lack of flat rides and shut, All the coasters bar Wickerman really getting on now...Feels like Alton Towers needs at least 2 world class coasters and at least 5 or 6 amazing flat rides.
Let’s hope things improve soon!

The last time i went to Alton Towers was April 2021 last year and i also met in person one of your friends (Harry Turnstiles) at the main entrance to the park who seemed like a really nice guy.
It's a shame about the few problems that they have with some of the rides. But hopefully they can get them sorted out & repaired soon.
It's a real shame about the HUSS Enterprise ride being closed.
That was operating brilliantly when i last went on it last year.
I really hope they don't get ride of it because it is a classic 1980s ride that is.
But i do acknowledge that it is a very old ride at the park (at least 35 years old).
A nice modern upgrade to the HUSS enterprise ride would be fantastic i think.
A childhood favourite of mine for definite.
And finally really looking forward to the new changes/improvements that are coming to Duel & Nemesis.

Hex is great - underrated. Very creepy atmosphere, I remember being spooked the first time I went through.

I went to Alton towers yesterday! hex was closed again. Pretty disappointed but was still a great day out with thirteen, oblivion, spin ball, and runaway mine train.
I miss walking around the tower ruins its definetly part of the day!
I love the smell in hex, everyone hates it but I absolutely love it haha
Went in around the Towers house back in 2018 or 2019. What stood out for me was the amount of fireplaces in some of the large rooms. Of course no central heating back in history and to heat up the large rooms with high ceilings they needed 2, 4 and 6 fireplaces per room. They must have chopped down a lot of trees !!!!

Yeah it sucks but it's much needed, it'll expand it's lifetime for a good few years!

It’s the little things that Alton Towers need to sort out and that is opening the towers more, calling in the manufacturers to fix the problems on some of the rides especially Hex

When I rode hex for the first time, I saw the ‘builders’ at the end of the queue and said to my mum, “ I think it’s closed for refurbishment” 😂😂
Went yesterday and i had a great time! Its a shame Hex is still closed! Rita was absolutely amazing and so was Galactica!

I totally agree with you Shawn about the retro squad but it really wasn’t permanent and being a theme park didn’t look good it must have been hard for Alton Towers losing another flat ride but at least the blade, heave ho and marauders still remain
Misty type rain all morning for us today! Thankfully all the rides were staying open throughout the rain so it didn't really stop us! (glad I packed an extra layer!)

Galactica could fit quite well into Forbidden Valley if they made it more into fighting the Nemesis Monster or just aliens in general.
It won't get rethemed though.
Towers has too much to do with not enough staff, budget or time.
I'd like for them to being back air but have more theming around it. Its soundtrack was just iconic, and great!

Went here today, got to front of queue for wicker man but fainted since it was so hot! But at the end went on it 2x. Loved it❤. Got on TH13TEEN and spinball whizzer and a few others. Apart from the fainting part I really enjoyed my day!
A Summer event I would suggest for A'T', would be a similar one that SeaWorld and Busch gardens do in Florida. I.e..Foods and drinks from around the World...I.e lots of stalls and you can have pay for a Lanyard with say 3 payments for say 6 choices, 10 choices or 15 choices...can be used on any day including return days.
Going on a school trip to towers will proudly wear my tpw merch

Another good vlog, really enjoyed and always look forward to more. With Galactica, 100% agree and think the space theme looks out of place, think there needs a retheme there, think aswell there are a lot of areas that need a retheme via more theming added aswell some bits aswell to make lands more immersive. For example, Rita with maybe a stoned bridge which has been brought up on social media, having a stone bridge on launch bridge, themed in with Thirteen? Always thought with new rollercoasters having maybe the building on Alton Towers Dungeons made stronger or redevelopment done by taking out building, rebuilding a new show building with reimagined boat ride and maybe with the building well built, design it to accommodate expansion above? For a future immersive rollercoaster? Themed around an abandoned castle? With "The Dungeons" being an underground Dungeon? Or relocating the Dungeons behind Rita and Thirteen? Just some ideas there, suggestions, but unlikely to happen, but who knows? Thanks again & look forward to seeing more videos like this in future. 😀👍

I've been hoping to get back to Alton Towers for years now and was hoping fir this year. However, 2.5 days car hire in the tiniest car out of Birmingham Airport was €300. So it's not a runner. Maybe things will improve in terms of price so it could be a good bet for 2024 when Nemmy is reopened, and maybe some new flat rides too.
Could the ‘scare experience’ be in the sub-terra building? I know the ride system was taken out but it’s not impossible that one could be put back in

It's make sense for them to just change galatica back to air branding. It's iconic and makes more sense now it has no VR. lots of people still refer to it as air anyway
And not to mention Airs theme is fantastic! The theme just suits Forbidden Valley a lot better, as Nemesis was intended to be the Villain of the area, while air is supposed to be the hero.
Hex is such a fantastic ride, went back on it yesterday! Off to Turkey for me!
I went yesterday and it was so busy it was unreal. Everything was queing out of the lines capacity. There was at least 20 schools there. I think they should at least have a maximum amount of school there. 160 mins for the smiler, 100 for Rita, 80 for spinball and 90 for everything else. Smiler was down when we got in line. I don't think it helps with wicker man being down either as it's one of the major coasters. However on Saturday everything was dead. It was advertised as 30 and we did it twice in 10 mins

Hex and wickerman closed yesterday!!! 120 min wait for smiler all day! Managed to get on nemesis one last time before it closes for a while!!

We went today, Wicker Man was still down all day unfortunately. We waited 2 hours for Rita and The Smiler and had a great day on other rides too
Great video, new viewer! I remember riding Nemesis the year it opened, was blown away the whole experience was amazing. Remember the red waterfalls as well a shame that’s not there anymore. I recall being made jump in the queue as well as the speaker screamed ‘NEMESIS’ not sure if it still does it

I'll definitely be coming down in October if Hex is open. Not to mention the park being opened until 9pm. Also hope they have Valhalla and The Big One open in Blackpool around that time as well.

The smiler broke 4 times when I was in the line so we waited just under 3 hours. But we managed to get front row which was my first time going in the front of the smiler. So much better than the back

Nice vlog Shawn and Charlotte. Interesting to see how the park has changed over the years with new rides and design layouts. I haven’t visited since 1998, a long while ago. Nemesis still one of my favourite coasters despite it being twenty five years old or so. No doubt the ride will be missed next year for refurbishment. Always interesting to watch your video vlogs so thank you👌😉
I just came back from a little short break at Thorpe park!! I have to say it was amazing I loved it so much!! You will not believe it but my fiancé is also called Charlotte 😂😂 this is our next trip! Alton towers is super cool, massive I don’t know what to expect! But it looks super super cool! I actually only decided to go to Thorpe park first after watching some of your videos about it 😂 amazing video! Keep it up!
One time I went I saw the smiler running in insane rain. This was only last week on Friday.
Just booked my first trip up to Alton towers with my girlfriend, finally got the money to do it (quite far for us so have to stay over) really hope everything is open when we're there🤞 . Been wanting to go since I first went to thorpe park probably almost a decade ago

was here today! didnt realise hex was reopened so i didnt do it but either way i wouldnt have managed it, would've loved to have gone on wickerman but of course it was closed sadly. still though, loved it! got to do 10 rides since i had fast past (smiler twice, rest of the big 7 excluding wickerman ofc, spinjam, river rapids, spinball). this was also my first time at alton and there was some other stuff i wanted to do (mostly hex and wickerman) and i also now want to redo smiler with row 1 or 2 so maybe next time. will definitely get fast track if im there on a busy day and if you are using fast track then one bit of advice i'd give is if/when a ride op forgets to scan your pass use that and go on again after - i only did this for smiler but i couldve done it on galactica on rita so i regret not doing that

I went with my 2 kids the last week in July last year for 2 days and we walked on every ride and queued 30 minutes for smiler it was quiet I think covid might have had something to do with it looking at the queue times now .I was dreading it but it worked out brilliant

My first ever upside down rollercoaster and I remember the first time I ever went on it, had my eyes shut most of the time, then later that day I was so proud that I managed to have my eyes open the whole time haha 🤣 was on it last year but won't get there this year ❤️ x
