    I’ve been watching this channel for a while now I have seen the detail and equipment get bigger and more complex. Not being in the industry I am not sure how long it took from a machine coming on the market to being in the shop. I do know the ability to see the advantages and explain what they are is awesome. I also notice the people growing too. Comfortable with a machine is a experience thing. The ability to explain and show to others is a different set of skills. Several of the people shown have been shown to have that skill and ability. None machine / equipment skills make a teacher / trainer they do however need to know the machine to be able to show / demonstrate it. At no point did you think the team don’t know the equipment. Great work. Receiving things is great but the giving is also a wonderful feeling. Been there in another field and it makes you feel great when you see someone “Get It” and the light behind the eyes get switched on. Amacf

    I ran a 9 axis Doosan Puma 1800 TTSY many years ago. We used a separate workshift just for the sub spindle. The sales rep had no idea you could do that and was convinced you needed to measure the distance from the sub spindle to the main spindle work piece... Same procedure for Daewoo Puma 240MS

    Nice run-through. I’ve done technical training, and it would be hard to be more concise and clear than you were. You made those controls about 80% less daunting in under 30 minutes!

    Much easier on a Mazak Matrix/Smooth. A-axis is controlled in both upper/lower settings, X/Z-axis are the same buttons on both upper/lower (switch-selector decides if it is upper/lower), upper/lower-turret are selected/decided in program (no need to split screen), no need for warm-up on mill-spindle (12000rpm), tool-change command done by writing tool-number directly (ex.tool 23 is written 23 instead of T0023) and many more. You guys should try the new SmoothX AI. Then you would throw all your Doosan's into the recycling-bin.

    • @TheFeralEngineer
      @TheFeralEngineer Před 3 lety +1

      Wait codes are pretty easy... Wherever you want to pause one of the heads, you place a wait code and when the other head reaches the wait code that corresponds, both move simultaneously again.

    I wonder how you deal with large programs, your 2600 SY II ( Doosan Fanuc i-Series ) has 2Mb, this one as far as I can see 512 kB storage.
    Do you use a Data Server or do you make BIN-files on the CF-Card ( pcmcia-slot ) for XXL-programs.
    We had a Doosan Z290-SMY (Mecatec) - 8-axis machine, I loved it, no CAM in the day so all programmed by hand, tricky was that
    Z_Minus was Z_Plus at the sub-spindle, just as G02 was G03, there was no Mirror code for that one like G14 HAAS has.

    Ill stick with my NTX this is extremely long winded. Also who in the world with today's technology does not use absolute encoders. It's not the 1990s you should not have to home the axis when ever you power on a machine

    Even if you knew how to program and setup these shops barely want to pay you more than they would an illegal who doesn't. Their mindset is skewed because most owners aren't machinist. No hope in the CNC industry. You need help from somebody to succeed and it's not a boss at a job. 😔
