I have been struggling to service my Filtermatic 25000 with German language videos or original manuals but with this Video I am looking forward to carrying out replace pump & service ready for spring. Thanks for a wonderful video on how to do it. Regards Glyn

Very clear help, much better than written instructions. No sleights of hand. Just as it is in the video. Many thanks. Tom

Hi does the discharge pipe need to o into a soak away or is it straight onto the gravel?

Hi there! You can discharge the waste water wherever you like-but NOT into a drain (which is technically illegal in the UK). It’s nutritious stuff and great for the garden so don’t waste it, I would simply discharge into a near by flower bed, under hedging etc. The important thing is to ensure the discharge hose runs on a level or downhill gradient and is lower then the top of the filter unit, if not the bilge pump used for the cleaning process won’t operate properly.
Thanks for watching and hope this helps!
      Best,
      Ed

I have the same system that displays a double hyphen instead of water temp and the pump will only drain water for as long as I push it, even after holding the button for 10 seconds. Are the two connected and is there something I can try to have these issues fixed? I am thinking about disconnecting the display and then reconnecting it in the hopes of it being a bad connection somewhere in the electrical circuit. The manual unfortunately says nothing about this kind of malfunction.

Hi there, sorry to hear you’re having issues with your filtration system. How long have you had the unit for if I may ask? In my opinion it sounds like you have a faulty control panel and this will need to be replaced. To confirm I would speak with Oases customer service team, ask to speak with their technical department and mention your issues to them.
For reference a replacement control panel is approx £70.
      Hope this helps,
      Ed

@@CrystalClearAquatics Hi Ed, thanks for your reply! I have had the Oase CWS unit since April 2015, so exactly 6 years. I have had the pump issue on and off, the temperature not showing is a more recent issue. I accidentally cut the power supply cable while trimming a hedge last year, but can't say that's what caused it, since the display will still say LA and flicker every couple of seconds when the lamp needs replacing. I have contacted Oase, they say I should send the unit but I'd rather replace it if need be, since I can't really miss it, especially not the UV. I am running a 25000 on a way smaller pond just to make sure it does the job, a 7000 probably would have done the job but I had no experience with Oase filtration. The water is always clear, or at least most of the time, which is great since the water always looked like pea soup before I purchased the Oase CWS filter. The pond has just been renovated into a more modern version, so it would be great to have the filtration working properly again as well. The UV lamp still works great, even in automatic mode, which is confusing. There are no real major issues, but it would be great if I could just release the pump button and have it draining the water automatically again after 10 seconds, since it causes finger cramps and when you accidentally release the button, the suction will be gone and you are left with two options; leave a lot of dirty water in there or provide new water to get the suction back, pretty annoying, but, still not as bad as the old way of doing it, having to manually clean an entire filter every so often. Anyway, if nothing else helps, I'm guessing replacing parts is the only real solution, but matters will have to get worse for that, hope that won't be the case though. I am attempting disconnecting and then reconnecting the electrical circuit on the next cleanout, which will be today or tomorrow. I will let you know what happens. Thanks again! Best regards

@@CrystalClearAquatics Hi Ed, just to let you know the connection isn't the problem, it seems I may have short circuited the control system cutting the power supply. Anyway, I feel the problem doesn't quite justify the expense since the water is clear and everything sort of works, except for the automatic waste draining. I'm afraid I may feel bad buying a replacement control panel the moment newer Oase technology appears on the market, i.e. I'd probably rather invest in an entirely new filter when it becomes really necessary. My only concern is the programmation of the UV lamp really, since the display doesn't show the temperature, I'm not sure how it affects the lamp, what temperature it is getting from the computer, since I have it on auto mode. I'm glad the lamp still functions, since I am sure that's the main thing keeping the water clear. Thanks again!
