Another tip is to wear a ski helmet rather than a cycling helmet. It is insulated so you don’t need an extra layer under it, has ear flaps to keep your ears warm and offers similar head protection in a crash.
Good tip, and ski googles would probably match better with them if you have this gear.

I got my first fat bike last year and have gone over 1,300 miles on it since and loved every one of them (it’s electric so it’s extra fun) some of my favorite rides are on stormy nights out in the forest with my brothers

It’s a topic I have tested extensively on many bikes and tires and have done a fairly recent video on, but yes due to a number of variables, the right pressure will absolutely vary. See vid below:

After being a ROAD BIKER / RACER, then MTB, competitive and recreational, your best LEGUPS to transition to Fat Biking?
There really isn't much of a transition if you are already used to MTB, they really operate much like a hardtail 29er in operation. You may need to adjust to the wider q-factor of the bottom bracket. It never bothered me, but some people are sensitive to it. The only other adjustment is just getting used to the dynamics of the specific bike/setup you get, much like any other new bike. Your leg muscles might hurt in ways they haven't before if you ride hard or a lot, but you will adjust to that too. Enjoy!!
I hear that C02 isn't good for sealants.. so I got the Lezyne hi-volume drive pump.
I have heard the C02 may cause issues as well, but many say they have not experienced problems too. I would only use the C02 as a last resort, if you’re getting to that point you’ll probably be refreshing the sealant in the tire anyways. I need to check out that pump, always looking for other options! Thanks for watching!

Also I guess solid frame fat bikes don't have problems that perhaps full suspension fat bikes might have with suspension forks or rear shock absorbers working in really cold conditions.
Yeah being fully rigid they are MUCH easier to maintain and more reliable, especially in the cold. The fat tires are effectively your suspension depending on conditions and tire pressure!
Do run tubes all the time?
What’s advantage of tubes vs running a tubless set up?
My bikes that are tubeless ready, are set up tubeless. My older Pugsley's don't have tubeless ready wheels, so I run tubes in those. Overall I prefer tubeless for the added reliability and the lighter weight, but tubes are just fine, especially on a fatbike as they are pretty easy to change and patch on the trail, unlike a road or even MTN bike tire which can be a hassle to remove and then get seated and inflated. Tubed fat bike tires are cleaner when you do have to remove a tire, and the valve stems never get gunked up when airing down. I'm not anti tube, but lean towards tubeless for the day to day benefits.
Are fat bikes a good option for muddy conditions? We don't get much snow locally, usually more slush when it snows. We do get a lot of rainfall. I'm curious if a fatbike would be a good choice for better grip and less sinking into ruts on wet days? How do they feel on berms and turning in mud, if you can describe that?
I think they are good in wetter conditions due to the fantastic traction, flotation, and surprisingly they actually throw less of a “rooster tail” than thinner tired bikes. If the mud is thick and caking up in the tires, they would be extremely heavy and unpleasant to ride. As for berms, again somewhat tire choice dependent, but they typically offer great overall traction on the sidewall, berms, or off axis conditions.

They are obviously not the most efficient on pavement, but they get the job done. You can do things like set up tubeless to save some weight, and use a more mild tread pattern to get them to roll a little better. If you want or need the capability on trail, snow, and sand, it is worth it in my opinion. Thanks for stopping by!!

Oscar Views You’re welcome, and thank you for watching! I think a fatbike could be a good commuter. You would probably want to down size the tires some and go with a more pavement friendly tire, but it would be comfortable and stable, especially if you will encounter winter conditions. Road oriented bikes will always be more efficient for pavement commuting, but if you’re ok with the trade off or have shorter rides I say go for it!!

The best bike to commute is the one that you have. But if you are looking for the best bike to get for a commuter, then it really depends on your commute. If you are in a pretty urban environment or commuting longer distances, I wouldn't suggest getting a fat bike. A road bike would be best.
If your commute involves some mild gravel trials, then I would say a gravel, cycolcross or even a hybrid or cross country mountain bike would be good. That will give a little larger tire while not feeling too sluggish.
If you commute has any rugged trails, then you would want a cross country mountain bike.
For snow or ice on pavement, you may want snow tires, but probably won't fit in most road bike frames. But all others should accommodate.
I think the only time that a fat bike really makes sense is either snowy trails or sand. My commute is 80% trail, and I have a gravel bike with 40 mm tires that is ideal. There are a few days when it snows that I wish I had a fat bike. On those days I either ride on the streets that get plowed, or I drive.
Very informative video! Do you ever encounter icy patches on the trail where you can loose control? And...do the snow pants get caught on the chain while pedalling?
Ice can definitely be a factor in certain places, generally I avoid it and the areas I ride seem to generally stay ice free. For areas where ice is unavoidable, a lot of people will use studded tires. As for the snow pants, I’ve never had issues with mine, they are pretty snug around the ankle though. Thanks for watching!!

What gloves do you recommend
Pretty much any gloves rated to keep your hands warm will do. I use non-cycling specific gloves as shown in the video. Ski gloves can be effective. Although I don’t use them, using Pogies or Bar Mitts are popular too and allow you to wear a light weight cycling glove.

Sorry that you think that about riding fat bikes. I live out in the desert of California and fat bikes are all we can ride out here with all the sand. The only bikes that my local bike shop rents are fat bikes. My bike mechanic has a fat bike that weighs 24lbs! Mine is a Canyon Dude and it weighs 29 lbs.
I ride my fat bikes all year round, so yeah definitely appreciate what they can do! My Beargrease is about 30lbs stock and I expect to have it trim some weight this summer.
You know those 2 little wheels they put for kids bikes when theyre learning to bike? What if... humanity invented a sensor with those same 2 wheels in the back tire that would sense when youre turning and it would deploy... but it would not lock, essentially the sensor would measure the angle of the entire back wheel and if it exceeds a "certain ammount of angle what if those very same training wheels that we put in childrens bikes could be a retractable training wheels that save lives for people fat biking in pure ice. This is genius! Because in a car you never actually feel like youre aboot to fall off but then again nobody has come up with an ingenius way to actually get a bike to stay upright while riding around it in a skating rink. Now im wondering can some1 actually make this, please let this be a thing, we already have electric fat vikes that can go 60 kmh, now we just need winter use approval, please this could change the future of modern transportation
You might have your million dollar idea right there! Fatbiking in ice is not pleasant for sure!!
