  • At the 2014 Conference of the Mormon Transhumanist Association, speakers addressed the themes of Mormonism, Transhumanism and Transfigurism, with particular attention to topics at the intersection of technology, spirituality, science and religion. Members, friends and critics of the association have many views. This is one of them. It is not necessarily shared by others.

Scott Saunders, the ridicule and demonizing in which you're engaging here is unwelcome. You are invited to present criticisms without resorting to ridicule and demonizing. You are also invited to pose questions. It appears that you are a Mormon and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Consider the charity with which we are invited to express ourselves, even when disagreeing with each other.

I really appreciate the idea of valuing individual experience.

The natural theological model for Transhumanism is Pandeism, which proposes that ours is a Universe designed to give rise, through evolution by natural selection, to intelligent life which will be able to crack the code of the Universe itself and use that knowledge to accelerate its own evolution towards godly capacities.

Religion talking about Life Extension? What about the Party in heaven we are missing everyday we are alive?

Hi Reporter. Some religions consider heaven to be the future of Earth.

Lincoln Cannon oh Correctly So! One Protestant wrote a Book Of Wealth in the 1800's I wish the Catholic church wrote similar. It was based on the Teaching that This life needs to be life the Future life!

Also the Jewish Kabalah teach that it is this world to be perfected, It is a natural Idea after the invention of the telescope, no longer could they use heaven or deep caves with gods in them as a Hope

Much to do. Good luck. I will go with no genetic manipulation. It will be tough on me (ego) but rewarding to my soul.

This is why the LORD and his angels confused the peoples at the tower of Babel, they said unto themselves ""Behold, they are one people, and they all have the same language. And this is what they began to do, and now nothing which they purpose to do will be impossible for them... Who knows how far mankind will go or get to, I could forsee a head transplant, even clone bodies. Religion cant stop this, but God can, many are the plans of a man, but it is the council of god that will stand. Man could achieve and unravel many things, but there will always be a God in heaven who has his own timeline and rulership over man.

Lol Babel, do you know what it is? The Babe (phonetically baby) of L, as in, El 'deity', as in, "Babel", the lineage of the Lord, the Tower of existence that came from what was, till what is now. I guess you can consider Babel 'EVOLUTION', the grand old beginning of all that is, and certainly not something half as negative as what silly minds now make out. I guess that's what getting stuck in fear does generationally to mankind, then again, what if bravery, or maybe it's stupidity, is all but a consequence of the planets and stars, what if what you were gifted is more than you can imagine? Do you accept a giant leap of faith, or have some taken the capacity of choice already?
