In this video we are testing out how mica powder and glitter brushed in to silicone moulds responds to Jesmonite. Does the Jesmonite lift all of the Mica and Glitter out of the moulds? I have already done a video on using foil in Jesmonite .. this one tests the glitter and Mica but also uses foil.

The chunky glitter ones are nice! They look like mini geodes! You could use that as a bonus effect. Maybe use clear nail polish to keep the chunky glitter from falling out?

I love your voiceovers and how you can laugh when you get some not so ideal results! Loving the blue/silver glitter 🤩 so since Instagram has learnt that I'm into craft it shows me quite a lot of reels to do with jesmonite and I saw one today where the artist instead of shaking the mould to get the bubbles out, they run a toothpick in the jesmonite around the outside edge to force the bubbles to the surface and then popped them one by one with the toothpick. Have yet to work with jesmonite so no idea if it works but might be an easier method with smaller moulds and less chance of spilling!

I actually like the effect where the chunky gitter make it look like a geode, with a plain outisde and a sparkly inside. The purples are amazing!

The chunky glitter ones looked like really pretty geodes! They were surprisingly my favorites. I would love to see you do a larger project experimenting with that look. Maybe sealing off that glitter with a small amount of epoxy or UV resin, just inside the craters.

Wow these look so pretty!! I loved the purple and blacks the most, but they all looked gorgeous!! Great little items for you Etsy shop! I enjoy watching you do resin so much, it’s a little obsessive lol. So satisfying to watch them de mould and see how they turned out! It’s kind of like a kinder surprise every time lol. And I love that you show the ones that fail too as it’s those that help people learning about resin the most. It’s great to see the good the bad and the not so pretty (sometimes…lol). ahhhh ha thanks girl .. they are loved by most people .. not me but most ! haaaa I have been advised to put them back in the oulds and coat them with resin. Might do that and see what they become xx so glad you love the purples and blacks they are my fav ! my Etsy is not doing great so I am hoping to do a craft fair soon x

Black with blue and purple is stunning,l normally use the mica powder mixed in the base but tried brushing it into the moulds,l have had different results from them all,l think it depends on the type of mica powder and moulds,love your videos😀

Great video Claire. I have to say I think the ones with the chunky glitter would look amazing with clear resin over them. Maybe pop them back in the moulds face up and drizzle some on next time you mix some up? Xxx

Have you ever tried drilling in jesmonite? I don't like the placement of the holes in most moulds, so I am considering bying ones without holes and then drilling them myself.

These are absolutely stunning😍 !!! My favorite is the black and blue one ❤️.. also how do you get rid of the tiny air bubbles on the surface, guess any sanding would peel off the mica Colors on them?
heyyyy lovely .. thank you so much ! really glad you love them ... Honestly ? I don't ....I leave the bubbles. the bubbles on the surface are due to the Glitter or Mica and if you get bubbles it just adds to the rustic effect x

Lovely work. Thank you for sharing. Can you wash jesmonite utensils in warm soapy water without damaging your drains pipes etc. Does the mica stain come out of the moulds too? Thank you :)
heyyyy lovely ... you do have to be careful with your pipes. I tend to scrape as much as I can out of the pot and then wash my cups and tools in a bucket of water so that it dillutes it .. Jesmonite can cure at the bottom of the bucket so its always best to wash in a bucket and then wait 20 mins before pouring water away ... hope this is aking sense x you can then through the cured pieces away (or wait until it all cures and crunch it out of the cups)
Would it work like terasso ( how ever you spell that) if you mixed the chunky glitter into the Jes?? I'm so glad you are having fun with all this. Great video as always hun
Heyyyy girl .. the terrazzo would bury the glitter .. it doesnt show through at all .. bbut becase it is plastic it could be sanded like terrazzo xx so glad you like it x
Those are beautiful. I like the green and gold just because it brings out the Irish ☘️ in me. They are each unique. Do you top coat these?

I'm breathless. These are stunning, all of them. I'm a green/gold (or red/gold but you don't have any of those here) girl so I love those ones but the chunky glitter ones are gorgeous too and kind of rustic looking despite the dazzle and for once, I think a gloss finish either resin or a gloss sealer would look amazing - did you ever get round to doing anything with them? However, the single star of the show was the square black/purple one with that touch of gold leaf.
I've actually been binging your videos and some others from resin artists over the weekend and I'm DESPERATE to try some casting. I've been into mixed media for years but have never tried anything like this even though I've considered clay. The problem is deciding where to start as I want to do it all!!!
Can I just ask if you need to use particular kinds of glitter and mica for either epoxy or Jesmonite? I've tons of both that I've been using for my other artwork and some of it is budget or paper crafting brands. Also, have you ever tried actual foil products as opposed to the leaf? Anyway, TFS :)
Heyyyy Vamps, thanks so much for you r amazing compliment xxx Yes these all sold after the video and I actually did do a Resin top coat on 3 of them ... they came out really well :) So glad you love these and no I do not use any particular Mica or Glitter just the same for both Resin and Jesmonite xxx As for foil products, no I havent tried them either I have only ever used the leaf from Amazon xx

@@samcraftstoo7616 ohhh and I use Jesmonite sealant ... for the AC100. First coat should be diluted with 10% water .... second coat should be neat x
they came out great. what jump rings could be used for molds similar in thickness to the ones shown in this vid? i keep ordering jump rings but they are never a good fit for the thickness of my pendants and keychains.

Heyyyy Sunita ...it is sadly not available in the US ... but you guys do have a similar product called Aqua Resin ... you have a longer play time with it too xxx

Thank you so much Kristy ... you can leave them raw yes but I would seal necklaces. Coasters and anything that may come in contact with humidity x

That's the one thing I don't like about using Mica powders with the Jesmonite, the mould clean up you have to do before you can use the mould again, but nice results 😘

Heyyyyy lovely ... thank you so much that means a lot ! xx You can get Jesmonite pigments from your Jesmonite Stockist India. They seem stronger and longer lasting than the Resin 8 pigments. but yes ... You can use Mica powder in Jesmonite ... it just won't be as bright x I will do a video on using Mica powder for sure .. I have seen some people use acrylic paint too ... so i can combine the two xx Lots of love to India also xx
Have you had issues with the new special batch ? Of jesmonite my items all of the sudden are coming out patchy with spots everywhere and I use a jesmonite blade don’t understand what’s going on

They are all very pretty. But for pendants I'm just not feeling the matte finish. These products of course can be used with nail art too. Which I really do appreciate a matte finish sometimes in nail art. The blues and purples are my favorites

in the last one u put lots of what ever in the liquid before u stired and poured thought it was only ment to be a little bit

i think what scares me with this stuff and using resin is the maths thats why i like the 1to1 better. have u got a easy way to work out how much a to b to use
heyyyy lovely .. I use the calculator on my phone always lol so after i measure the mould to know how much i need ... i use my calculator to X2.5 I did a video on how to measure the moulds each time also x
