How Tetris Effect: Connected's New Modes Will Change the Meta

- My video covering the major update to Tetris® Effect: Connected coming next week on 2/22/2023. Version 2.0 includes compatibility for PlayStation 5 and PS VR2 (via a paid upgrade for existing owners of the PS4 version), Tate (vertical) mode for Nintendo Switch, plus Zone Marathon, Single-player Classic Score Attack, Endless Master Mode, and Endless Purify Effect Modes.
All current platforms will also receive this update and have access to these new modes of play.

I'm so happy that we're still getting updates and new features! They could've just dropped it with the single player and some online, but actively working with the community is HUGE!
Tetris effect was my pandemic pleasure. I am really happy that the devs have not left this game. It was around the time I got into watching the CTWC, playing PuyoTet, Jstris, and Tetrio. To see this game get updates and to see the silent community come alive once more is a pleasure.

So excited! I definitely felt the desire endless purify myself. I'm not anywhere near these masters, but I've gotten all the SS achievements... And what I love is how the different modes have not only made me a better player, but how there's Sooo much room for growth that the game still enables. What a stellar version of Tetris! And so glad the developers are tapping into the incredible talent pool to get their thoughts on betas. Thanks for the coverage scout! I think we've played a few matches! I always think "omg, I'm playing someone famous!" :)

Entering the zone by closing your eyes in VR feels like some sort of anime powerup, I love it. I've never had the chance to play this game (even less so in VR), but everything I hear about it only makes me want to play it more.

It seems Classic Score Attack Multiplayer now has an interface that looks exactly like the score interface seen at the CTWC, with the TRT and drought counter and everything.
At 2:16 “really take advantage of the screen” and the video shows a small board in a big screen not really taking any advantage… LOL! Thank you for the video!
If you had asked me what I wanted in and update, I’m pretty sure all of these things would have been at the top of my list. I never expected this. This is awesome
If you enjoy Tetris, no matter at what level you're at, please get this gem of a game if you haven't already done so. Too rarely we see a Dev putting so much budget and effort in a Tetris game.

I'm glad the developers created Single-player Classic Score Attack mode. That way, the player's board will be at the center of the screen.
This also makes it easier to get my relatives to play the Classic Tetris when they visit me.
They have officially added everything I've wanted. Bravo team and Tetris community. Effect is honestly perfection.
Happy that zone is coming to the effects games. It was tedious to dig through journey to find the stage I wanted to get zone clears on and even on expert, the time you're allowed to stay on a stage is just too short! This would be a really fun challenge on endless, and a treat for the ears.
Wow, can’t wait for the updates, and to also get a VR2 when they drop (in Australia).
The only thing I find is that I often have to wait ages for players when doing a ranked match, esp on classic modes.

I've literally bought this game on all platforms I've owned at this point. Latest is Steam with Steam Deck. It's nice to be able to play full Tetris Effect on handheld like Steam Deck.
Tetris Effect Connected 2.0 was a huge improvement in the game and I enjoy all the new features!
It would be great if they add eye tracking movement with vr2 for example in classic tetris attack. Move faster laterally it wouldn't be a problem post kill screen.
My main problem with the single player version of classic tetris mode is that it doesn't have a drought counter. I really want to know how long those droughts are lol

The beta was only on steam so I couldn't get the b-roll clip myself, that was what was sent to me. I'd assume, like in other modes, that you can zoom in the playfield to make it bigger.

It took so long, but we have a Tetris game where everyone in the community, even people who play exclusively classic NES Tetris, are like: "Yep, this is the one!"

I hope cheaters are not gonna be able to supbmit scores anymore. Im tired of seeing someone with 999.999.999 score in 1 second of playtime. Cause i would really love to see where my score lands and who "actually" is the best. Update gonna be a banger tho.

tate is used in japanese to describe games in a vertical orientation, from tateru (立てる) “stand up vertically”

Is there a way to turn off the background, or at least make it static? Maybe you learn to ignore it, but in the video, it was really distracting.
It looks better when you’re actually playing the game and there’s less bitrate compression, but yeah you can tone it down in settings
Soon a noticeable part of videos at tetris channels will be spam about TC. Try not to spam about it and you'll be cut off of sponsorship.

@@Xenophilius yes, given this is the only current official Tetris game actively getting supported. PPT is a complete mess and the garbage tables are completely broken by 4-wides. Tetris effect already nerfed them so would be good to have an official version of regular multiplayer without the broken guideline strats or the infinite das and finesse shit you end up dealing with in fan games.
