Having the same issue everyone else is. It'd be great to be able to use this. I even have a screwdriver that looks like it should fit but it's like the screw is stripped.

How do you open the battery part

this would have been helpful 4 hours ago. i didn't realize the inner nut came out, the instructions look like you just stick the blade in, and screw the outer nut on top of it. if you do it that way, it works briefly, then stops. so i ended up just using this as a handle to manually saw the blade back and forth for my two pumpkins, which was frustrating, but got the job done.
having better instructions on the packaging would have helped that, but nothing could have helped the fact that the one blade got bent all to hell when pushing it through the pumpkin skin to begin my cuts. the poker tool is also a lost cause. so much for "now with stronger tools".
i had the old model that was a straight handle with the clear plastic shield you removed to insert the batteries, and it was great. i used it for 8 years before an accidental drop finished the blade off. so sad that the new one is such a disappointment.

disable the whole thing. the nut that holds the screw moves with it.

I have a slightly newet version of this saw, and pumpkins slow the blade and stop it, and it barely cuts. What a waste

thanks for not including a screwdriver in the kit, making it impossible to actually put batteries in it (which should have been included anyway). Not everyone has a tiny ass screwdriver at home for these kinds of activities.

That battery part makes this a total bust. Make something in America not in China.
